OH
It is sooooooo nice to know I'm not the only one to turn quitting smoking into a "Hobby",,, I thought I was ordering way too much stuff,, then I found this thread and quickly realized "I'M NOT ALONE"!!!
Now I'm playing catch up compared to some, Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

That being said,, I have a question for one and all,,
Ok, I've been using nothing but 510 atty's and cartomizers,, Then I bought a Darwin and joined the Family!! So I decided to pick up some 901 atty's because I read how great they work but I wasn't really Impressed with them,, still loving my 510's...
So before I buy some 801's and adapters to try them,, I just wanted to ask if the 801's are any different then 901's???
Or does it simply come down to personal preference??
I guess I'm just looking for a little feed-back,, even-though I'll end up buying a little bit of everything out there,,,
considering vaping is now my #1 Hobby :vapor:

You are certainly not alone here! The hobby definitely helped me through the quitting process. Now, well, I'm just a vape junky. Always scanning the threads for the latest and greatest :)

My Darwin crapped out Last weekend, it was the 2nd time since April. They don't overnight one to you and wait for you to send yours back anymore. I had to send mine back first and then they overnighted one to me all bacause some folks would not send theirs back so I had to wait till today before I got my replacement. Well I'm a happy camper once again! It's my 3rd one in three months, thankfully their customer service and warranty is so good.

Very different from both 510 and 901, especially where carts are involved.
1. The barrel is much deeper with a bigger diameter.
2. The atty coil/wick is somewhat bigger than the 510 and 901.
3. The draw is tighter.

Flavor and TH is very good to me. The vape feels thicker yet cooler to me as compared to the 510. When it comes to trying to load up a cart, these do pretty dern well...as good or better than alot of the cartos out there.

I'm glad I tried them...one of my all time faves. When using an 801 with a Darwin I usually load up a native 801 cart and can usually suck on it quite a while before having to top it off. They do well dripping too, but note you'll probably want an 801 drip tip to do that.

If you want a similar 'large' atomizer but with a more 510 like draw, I hear the Mega 510 stuff is worth trying. I've not tried a Mega 510 in ages...and not on a Darwin at all...but I do remember it working much better with carts than the standard size stuff.

There are also hybrids out there, like the Ikenvape Cannon. It's an 801 on 510 threads...only for dripping tho'....as it is cut down to be a 'shorter' beast, so the 801 carts don't fit in it.

In short...to me, the 801 is very underrated. The carts actually work well with them :)

Well said, Credo. In my vast vaping experience (ha ha), I have come to learn that it's 501 for TH, 801 for vapor, and 901 for flavor. At least that's what the 'experts' say.

Glad you mentioned the IKV Stealth Cannon. I own 2 of them and absolutely love those attys!

Would like to add something to the discussion about the 510 extenders. I purchased 2 of the regular length, from 2 different vendors (not Drew) and within a very short amount of time, they no longer worked. At our Vape Meet yesterday, I was told that the short ones are the ones to use, and that the longer ones have too much resistance and always fail quickly.

Halo, yours is threadlocked? Non-removable? Wow, I have not heard about that!

Also, I saw the new version D'win with the flashing screen, and it is NOT as bad as I thought it would be!

Yep,, I even asked Drew if it will come off and he said it would be VERY difficult to do so,, No problem, I'm actually happy with it..... Mine also has the flashing screen,, described to me by Brandon as a continous "Systems Check" .. Not a big deal either...
I'm Loving My Darwin, but I still use my "Big Kazoo-Megalodon-Omega and Ego"!!
Like I've said before,, I quit smoking because I wanted a new Hobby!!!!! :)

Yea, the new ones are non-removable. It doesn't sound like a bad thing but I am happy with mine just the way it is at the moment. I also thought the flashing screen would be annoying but I don't even notice it most of the time. It doesn't even blink long enough to fully light up :D

Nah the flashing screen isn't bad at all. I love my version 10 even with the flashing. My version 2 has the funky connector threads, so it always has a stealth adapter just to save the connector threads from stripping. I don't wanna give it back though, since it has the signature on it and it's been so trouble-free

Mine came with a 510 to 510 extender,, threadlocked so you can not take it off..... But I was planning on buying one anyway, so I'm just going to consider it a free-bie...........

Damn, guess I was wrong... my Darwin is only 10 days old and didn't come with an adapter threadlocked on... bought it separately... I just keep it really tight so it wont come off... but will still come off if I need it to come off (for cleaning every now and then)

+1 on the flashing screen not bothering me at all... thought it might, but it doesnt...

6 left on the site, 14 sold... congrats to all the new Darwin owners!
