I have made my own extenders from old CE2's and a batter conector. Not had a single problem with them since. I grant they are not real pretty but.........

Oh yeah, tell me how or is it as simple as it sounds with 510 battery connector to the CE2 only, hopefully no soldering.
I had the thought of "what if..." late last week... coincidentally at the same time I had the best overtime paycheck thus far this year...

Ordered a whole bunch of 510 to connectors from 901 to 808 to 801 and a handful of diff carto/attys to try.

Crap!!!! First night that I got pulled over with my darwin... Cop was like "what is that in your hand" and I was like "it's a vaporizer to quit cigarettes" because that was the quickest thing that I could think of. Apparently that wasn't as big of a problem as me having a .40 caliber handgun on me so they quickly changed their focus. Long story short, I was released and continued to pick up dinner for my family and what not but they didn't even wonder what the darwin was. I guess they knew what the deal was or just didn't care but at least they didn't confiscate it or something
You have to go shopping with a loaded handgun? I'd consider moving to somewhere safer.
Also, you are more likely to get killed having no lights on your truck than getting shot.

I kinda like 901's, stiffer draw than 510's yet lighter draw than eGo mega B's. Great flavor/vapor! Still waiting for my shipment of 801's I purchased on clearance ($3.5 a pop) from china

To be honest, I don't "have" to do anything. I choose to carry for my own reasons. You are correct about having a better chance of being hit with no lights though but the chance of getting shot isn't too far behind.

Darwin related: what have ya's found best for a darwin belt holster? I know nhaler has one but its something I'd rather get local so I could see it in person first

I think the NHaler big case (belt holster) is awesome and you would think it was made for Darwin. I have already given away 3 of them to other Darwinians and need to get another - or 2 or 3... I still have one of the small ones but like the bigger one much better. But, mostly, I just slip Darwin in my pocket; at 1.2" thin - it is very pocket-able.
