so I am using a hh .357. I find that no matter what I set it at, the readings are all the same.
I have it set at 4.2 and it is the same as when I turn the dial higher.
Is that normal? Just curious. also wondering what others have it set at.
If it is 1.5 ohm then yes there will be no change under a certain wattage. I beleive no change under 8W if I remember correctly. Once you dial up over that amps and volts will change. The LR stuffs bottoms the Darwin out.

What you are experiencing is Ohms Law. This has been discussed a few times in this thread - but it IS a big thread...
LR attys/cartos are designed to provide higher watts at low volts. They are designed to imitate/simulate higher voltage vaping.
Putting Amps aside, the generic calculation for watts using Ohms Law is volts squared and then divide by the Ωs of the atty/carto. The lowest batt level Darwin can push is 3.6 volts and you are using a 1.5Ω atty. So, using Ohms Law (applies to electrical current):
3.6 X 3.6/1.5=8.64 Watts. So the only way you could achieve lower numbers would be if Darwin's batt could push a lower voltage like 3 volts or 2.5 volts - then you could vape lower watts using THAT 1.5 LR atty. You will see your numbers go up if you turn your Darwin above this watts level. For example, set your Darwin to 9.5 watts and your numbers should go up. You just will not get it to push less than 3.6 volts because that is the lowest volts Darwin is designed to push.
This is a limitation of ALL LR attys/cartos on ALL devices. This is the intention of the design of LR attys/cartos. this is NOT an issue of Darwin or any device. If you put your 1.5 Ω atty on ANY 3.7 volt device you would be vaping at 9.1 watts:
3.7 X 3.7/1.5=9.1 watts
When you use standard and higher Ωs attys/cartos, you get more of the full range of the watts scale. For example, if you use a 2.5Ωs atty/carto:
3.6 X 3.6/2.5 = 5.2 Watts (slight rounding up) so you can vape any watts level above 5.2 setting and see the numbers at all settings above this.
If you use a 3 Ωs atty/carto:
3.6 X 3.6/3=4.32 so you can achieve all watts settings above 4.2
You can achieve higher level watts using LR and you can also acheive those same higher level watts using standard and higher Ωs attys/cartos. But, using the standard and higher Ωs attys/cartos allows you to achieve/vape the lower range of watts too.
Some people prefer the LR high watts (runs at lower voltage) and other prefer the same watts by using higher Ωs attys/cartos at higher volts. It is all subjective and personal. Just remember, using a 1.5Ωs atty on Darwin or ANY 3.6 volts device will give you 8.6 watts - and 9.1 on devices pushing 3.7Volts. This has nothing to do with Darwin. The only way to get a cooler vape from a 1.5Ωs atty is to find a batt that pushed less than 3.6 volts.

First, and foremost, EVERYTHING in vaping is subjective - in other words: I may not like what you like, etc.
Second, when you change ANY piece in the combination of batt, atty or carto, Ωs level, juice - the vape experience changes. You can use Darwin at 9 watts and a certain juice and the vape will have certain characteristics like warmth, flavor, amount of vapor, and Throat-hit. If you chance any one component - suppose you use a different model 1.5Ωs LR atty (510 LR 1.5 for example) - the entire vape experience will change. If you use a 901 LR at 1.5Ω the vape experience will be different again.
Some people believe that watts are watts and from a technical perspective - they are correct. So, if we follow this logical argument, 9 watts using an LR 1.5 Ωs atty would be the same as 9 watts using a 3Ωs atty (assuming the exact same atty model/design - if they were both 510 or both 901, etc.). But, as I said, EVERYTHING in vaping is subjective (you like this juice and I do not, etc.). Personally, I do not like ANY LR attys or cartos. I find they can heat up too fast and I find that changes the flavors of my juices. I do not like 510 attys at all but many love 510 attys. I do not like 306 attys but many people love 306 attys. I find there is a big difference between different attys and higher voltage watts compared to the same watts achieved using lower volts and LR attys/cartos.
You are just going to have to try a bunch of different attys at different settings to see for yourself which YOU like "best".
This post really does not begin to address everything you are asking but it is a start. Unfortunately, because we all like different things (some are all about the TH, others all about flavor, others want huge vapor, and others want different aspects and/or combinations of the vaping experience) such that you really have no choice - just like the rest of us - you have to try a bunch of different combinations to find which works best for you and your preferences.

I just got my Darwin from the mailman !!!! I can't wait to use it...I can't because my 510 to GOcart adapter didn't get here yet
I guess I can wait a couple days. Does anybody else's Darwin USB connecter a little loose? Is it just the way it was designed? It's not a big deal, but It would suck if it broke while plugging it in... Other than that I love it and I haven't even used it yet!!!
