i tend to seperate my attys by flavor, i have one that i use the candy or fruity flavors on, and one that i use tabacco flavors on, the tobacco ones im using currently are bobbas and gorilla juice, the bobbas after about a week of use its just so gunked up you get about 1 hit that has flavor and the rest are dry, plus ave is mostly vg, ive heard it doesnt work to well in cartos, the cleaning method i described seemed to work pretty good, i read it doing a google search and someone had it here on ecf somewhere, seemed practicle, and i didnt feel like going to the liquor store for the pga, lol, anyways, seemed to work perfectly, thing is working like new,
what are some attys and or cartos you guys use? i have some boge 510 cartos, it just seemed like a lot of prep time for only about 30 mins of vaping. when i sit down to cape i chain, so normally i just drip. what do you guys normally use?

I drip a lot of Bobas, too. One good thing about Bobas is that it mixes well with a lot of flavors. I will often use it in between flavors because it tastes pretty darn good with the Bobas mixed in (sometimes better)! I've noticed this with QN apple pie, it's pretty good my iteself, but 1 drip of apple pie and 2 of BB is heaven.

I've never gotten BB to work in a carto, but I haven't tried many. It just seemed like a waste of juice. It's perfect for dripping, though. I have started using IKV 3.5 ohm 510s and they are pretty sweet for the Darwin. I'm thinking of picking up those new KR-808 DM1 clear cartos from nhaler for driving.

Just got my Darwin. So it's got a charge but it's not full, so I went to charge it, plug it in, don't see anything. Used both a mini USB and the wall charger it comes with. Wall charger has a green light lit up but that's it, no indication on the PV that anything is happening. Vapes like a dream though, sure hope I don't have to send it back. Is this all normal? Do you charge this thing on or off? Anyone know where I can get some sort of instruction manual?

the battery icon does not show the charging, goes very slow, just let it sit on the AC, after some time you will see it is full.
when you take a drag you will see the battery level go down, but it goes up again...congratulations, I am loving mine for a few days, but it rocks big time!!!

Welcome to Darwinia, kingcobra!

The charging indication, specifically the lack of same, is one of the few things that mildly bugs me about the D'win. In short, there is no real indication of when it's charging or not. With the supplied wall-wart, you can see the green LED dim slightly when you plug in the D'win. Other than that, there really isn't any way to know other than the indicated battery level will rise (instead of decline) while it charges.

Documentation is pretty thin for the D'Win. When I asked, KatDarling sent me a link to it on GoogleDocs (you will need a gmail acct to access). It didn't really tell me anything I hadn't already learnt from this thread, but there it is. I printed a copy to keep with me in the car just in case I get stopped and quizzed by a LEO about it. That's never happened and, based on anecdotal evidence (postings on other parts of the forum here), probably not likely to.

At any rate, despite these minor (I mean really minor) nits, I haven't regretted my investment in Darwinia real-estate one little bit. I'm sure you'll find the same. Just remember - it really is as simple as keeping it charged, dial in the wattage that works best (in your opinion) for the juice you're vaping, and have at it.

Welcome, KC. I don't have much to add. I usually charge with it off, but you can charge either way. Here are a couple other points that have been mentioned previously but I will reiterate here so you don't have to dig through thousands of posts:
1. The backlight on the screen will "flicker" every 6 seconds or so. This happens as part of an automatic self test and is normal while the Darwin is powered on.
2. The battery level indicator tends to stay at "full" longer. Once it starts to go down it will go down faster. Sort of like a full tank of gas often does. Don't worry, there is a lot of power in these batteries, so you should have no problem getting through a full day or two.
3. Higher resistance attys tend to work a little better on the Darwin. It gives you more adjustability on the low end, but LR and DCs do work.

Welcome and enjoy your new Darwin!

Thanks Rob! Yeah I did notice the flicker, good to hear that this is normal :) I guess it would be cool to know when this thing is fully charged but it sounds like full will give plenty of vaping regardless of whether it's on the high or low end of full.

Yeah, for the most part you can usually plug it in at bed time and it'll be good to go when you want it again. Don't worry about trying to 'drain it' before charging again. Li-Poly batteries don't have the memory issues of the other types of lithium batteries. They would rather be topped from 50% or even higher anyway :)

And don't forget, you can happily vape on while a charger is plugged into it.

I took out some juice that I hated with other PV's, not only vapable but a very nice vape. No need to carry a backup with this, if it quits I'll be freaking out anyway having to go back to the old PV's :)

Thanks for the link Kat!

Well you may soon be in the same boat as some of the other Darwin owners here----- Becoming a multiple Darwin owner.

Yeah that's definitely a possibility, backup Darwin doesn't sound like a bad idea. So what's the deal with the warranty - send it back to Evolv - how do they know when you bought it since you got it from a third party vendor?

Not quite sure how they know, but I do know that they take care of each and every Customer. Damn as soon (or if) as Drew puts up some Darwins in blue I know I will add another to the Darwin family here in the man cave
