Just a word of warning to my fellow dar-minions who like to "stealth vape" in commercial buildings:
Clouds of vapor produced by this device WILL set off a smoke/fire alarm! My surprise after taking a few puffs of some of my favorite VG-based liquid when the VERY loud fire alarm went off! Fire department came and everything, the system clearly showed "smoke at x location"! Had to play dumb of course, I don't smoke.. Do you smell smoke?? Ahhh! Fire department came and everything, "there has to be ALOT of smoke to set that thing off!"... LOL

Someone a few pages back was asking about ego-t's on the darwin, as was mentioned, with a long enough extender it will work fine, here is some pics.

This is a 1" 510 to 510 on top of the 510 that comes on the darwins, with the larger type B Ego-T from Totally Wicked.

As an added note, the ego-t seems to work great with the little bit of additional air flow it gets, thanks to not being fully closed around the cone like on a regular ego battery.

I've had the argument many times over whether vaping would set off smoke alarms. There are several types of detectors, some that sense heat and others that use an optical sensor. The latter style is less common nowadays, but is still in use and can be set off by thick vapor. Nice to see that somebody other than me has managed to set one off :p

Wow this page is like deja vu. KD help me out here. Somewhere in here I posted about the Darwin firing off the smoke detector in a Helsinki Holiday Inn. Fire dept and all came to me rescue!!! The optical type alarms can and will be set off by vapor. jimbalny has now added additional proof. Happy vapes Jim

Oops, force of habit, it's from my rural background (I spent most of my life as a farmer, before I was a network admin). In the era of outhouses, before indoor plumbing, a Big, Fancy Outhouse had two, er, seats. They were referred to as two-holers. I saw a three-holer once (and not on Ripley's Believe It Or Not). The little 150 year old church where I grew up, still has a 'Mens'. Even though it has had indoor plumbing for decades now, some of the old guys still go out there.

/me slips into the gutter........

Lol Ski, only you would call someone out like that...coincidentally I had to listen to a coworker go on and on about the finer points of the Cosby Sweater today and various other urban dictionary terms, you'd probably be all over that.

All in good fun debook NV is a nutty as the rest of us :). Man you have to love the urban dictonary plus insult monger. That site provides some pretty choice terms in many foriegn languages. There are times when working in a large multi national company that it comes in handy. Happy Friday

I grabbed one at BB yesterday - thanks for the post. Will play with it over the next week or so and see but I like the idea of the red/green. I charge while sleeping so really do not have any accurate charge times to compare. prior charging (sans red/green) there is no way to tell "full" charge as the gauge on Darwin will show "full" before the battery is full. so, there is no accurate way to measure "full" charge time anyway

But I'll do some daytime charges and try watch for the green light and charge times. While charging two units, the light will stay red until both are charged. As two units will never have the same amount of discharge (prior to charging), and no two charge cycles will be the same even on one device (no less 2 devices at the same time) - unless depleted to cut-off (which I rarely do anyway) - comparing charge times will prove inconclusive. Having the green light will be nice anyway.
