Hey guys... I'm new to Darwins... I got a Crown7 Hydro back in late 2009 and it broke and kinda sucked for refilling so I came back recently and will be getting a darwin later this week in the mail. Does anyone know if the battery is user replaceable if it ever breaks? What type of battery is in it?
IF you can solder they are user replaceable. They have 1 year warranty and Evolv has already stated that sending it in for replacement will run $25. Same battery technology as in an iPhone and they go for years.
I'm a solider pro! 25$ isn't too bad. They'd probably be able to give me a list of places to order one if I needed. I'm in Canada so shipping a Darwin out then back in isn't too good of an idea.
Jorad, the only problem is that the warranty covers the Darwin only if it's UNopened. You will need to send it back to Evolv to have the batt replaced.
Yay! USPS found my loaner darwin that was sent back to Evolv almost 2 months ago. It was sent to the wrong post office in Louisiana and I guess they wanted it to collect a generous amount of dust before they got their act together... Good deal

I was wondering what someone would think if they intercepted it. Even if I knew what a PV was but had never seen the darwin, I would probably be like "what the hell is this thing?"

That thought actually crossed my mind while I was typing the other post. That would definately give it away eventually.
Sure, the 510 connector would give it away... for us. To the uninitiated, I imagine it looks like a bolt is missing or something.
It would look like there is supposed to be a wifi antenna on it or something to the layperson... all they'd have to do is google darwin and Voltage (if they turned it on it would show volts and whatnot) and they'd get it right away
