Dang, I turn my back, to work for a couple of hours (I *am* at work, I guess it's expected) and here you guys have spit out another half a dozen pages! Welcome to the new users, the general mantra is:

1. LR is no advantage, except to wear your battery down faster. Anything will work, HR gives more battery life.
2. Forget about 'HV vaping', it's meaningless here. The 'Big Numbers' (wattage) on Darwin are an approximation of heat. It will juggle the voltage automatically to keep it there. It even compensates for your atty/carto aging.
3. Try extremes of the Big Numbers on the same juice, you can make some taste different. Ramp it up/down in mid-hit.
4. Got a tank? Don't worry about turning it off. You could leave it turned on without vaping for a month. Leave the arm up.
5. Get some low-nic juice, you may be vaping more, in the next few days...

Most importantly, have fun! With my earlier PVs, I just felt satisfied that I was feeding my nic addiction monkey. Not until I got Darwin did I consider it fun.

Mix - worry not. While it may be frustrating, as with ANY new product, you are in very good hands. Drew and Brandon will make sure you are well taken care of. This thread is replete with posts about the outstanding customer service.

Yeah only bad thing is I dont got the cash to send this one back at the moment :( So for now i guess i got to deal with it.

Ok one more question... While on the charger and the arm in the on position with no carto/atty attached is the screen supposed to slightly flash on? Is that part of its normal checking the ohms and stuff of the atty/carto? Its not as bright as when you push the button but the light does slightly flash on.

OK, so there I was, back about page 899 on this thread, we were talking about wall USB chargers. I made a lapse into my rural background, and referred to a charger as a 2-holer:

Wait just one minute and stop the presses NV. I do have to point out to the clan that you did indeed type 2-holer!!! Yes you did :)

It was a reference to a larger outhouse, that has room for two.

Last weekend I went to a very unusual event, a Chili Festival. This is held in a very tiny town, the normal population is 29 people. It is right on the Missouri River, and lends credence to the term 'river rats'. Many people up and down the river just tie off their boats, and scramble up the levee to the festivities. This was the 30th annual festival. There were three stages, bands playing constantly from 4pm until about 2 am. It's all free (unless you want to buy some Chili), and there are typically a thousand people there. It is a regular micro-Woodstock.

What is really strange, is that it is never, ever advertised. It is always held on the Saturday in October, closest to the nearest full moon. There wasn't any obvious Wiccans there, but plenty of old hippies. It's BYOB, drinking in the streets (all both of them), and a wide range of music. It's odd things like this, why I enjoy living in the rural Midwest, USA.

In the center of town, there is a public 2-holer outhouse (in addition to rows of portapotties there for the event). I felt obligated to go take a picture.

It was actually very tidy, that is chipped paint you see... I hope this doesn't freak out the new Darwinistas.

Hey Mix,
Sorry I didnt reply sooner , its beena LONGGGGG day...Any ways there shouldnt be ANy marks in the finish that wont scotchgaurd right off...They are from touching the box and or other (brass) parts on other Darwins...If you look closely you will see that it is Hard anodized case that is almost impossible to scratch...The white stuff is really puzzling to me as we give them all a good look and turn them off and on...The only thing I can think of is lint from the bag or something??? Please let us know. Thanks and again sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience.

Just thought I would note that I picked up a Dynex 2.0 Amp usb wall charger from Best Buy today for 24.99. It has 2 ports, but using only one at a time allows the full 2 amps for charging. It also gives you a red light for charging and green once charged.

Hey Drew, Brandon got back to me and said he noticed the white spots around the screen on the last 200 units and that area doesn't seem to take the dye properly and his anodizer uses that area to fixture the top part of the case to go through the anodizing process.

As for the other things I was talking about, they aren't actually scratches but nicks taken out of the case. There are tiny little things that look like rock chips on the bumper of a car but they aren't really noticeable unless you are looking at the Darwin closely so I'm not too worried about it.

Thanks for the response drew.

It is possible they don't come with the 510 extension, anymore. I bought 2 extensions and they were all that was in the package. The Darwin only had the brass arm on it. Mine came today, too. I charged it up and I'm now trying to see what I like the best.

So far, I kinda like my G4 on it. I think most people don't like them, but I must have gotten a good one.

I've got a few juices that taste awesome in a G4.

Haha, I've seen worst. Had me remember when I was young back on summer trips to my Grandpa out in the country the bathroom was the Outhouse.
Some of you younger people might not know about that. I just remembering being scare at night if you have to go to the bathroom.(spooky)It was a ways from the house and having to walk out there especially at night. I was glad that one year when my Dad went back there they built him a bathroom inside the house.

Do you mean you use a 510 to 510 and an 510 to ego? Or do you use a 510 to 510 and 510 to 901 and then something else that an Ego can screw onto? I would like to replicate it as getting an Ego-T type B on my Darwin so it can close (and can go in my pocket) would increase my utility from this mod by a lot. Thanks!

Oops, yes, I left one off.

The 510>510 shorty that comes on it.
Then a 510>901
Then 901>510 (or to whatever I want if it's not a 901/808 threaded atty/carto)

I got this combo long ago for a drip shield to work better with 510 stuff. It also gives me a more adjustable air flow.

The first two never come off the Darwin for the most part.
I often go from 901 to 801 as well.

So far I've used all of the following larger stuff on my Darwin and they'll open and close.

Giantomizer 3D
Type A and B Ego T
Vision Deux
Turbine Tanks (Discontinued)
801 atties of course.

Those are all ego sized, so I'm guessing stuff like the Echo, and other 'eGo sized in diameter' would close too.
