Other than my first Riva purchase, I've never bought a "new" mod. I bought everything on the classies - why I dunno. I saved about $15-$20 on the Darwin and maybe $20 on the ProVari. Not much but every little bit helps. I'm just overspending now because it's new and I figure it will pay for itself someday in better health and not buying analogs.

What cost me the most money was selling these other mods at a loss. They just didn't satisfy me. I'm glad to have my (2) main PVs and will probably not buy again unless one of them breaks. Just ordered a nifty little tank this morning and shouldn't need anything from now on but the consumables.

Panks, don't sweat the credit, it just gets you in trouble anyway . . . it took me almost a decade to get it through my thick head that my credit card limit was not meant to be maxed out all the time  I still splurge (ie: my recent purchase), but I limit it to stuff that I can pay off within a few weeks time, otherwise I just use it when I have no other choice.
I'd love a backup Darwin, but I've gotten a lot more responsible about my frivolous spending in recent years.

After too many years of bad credit, I have learned the sweet spot on a credit card. Use it to pay for monthy gas/food/clothes/bills, up to as much as 30% of it's limit. Pay it to zero each month, never carry a balance. As a paranoid computer security guy, this goes contrary to my instincts of "pay everything only in un-marked ten dollar bills, while wearing a fake beard and Groucho Marx glasses". But, it does make your credit rating go up, if that matters.

Hey all,
I cant wait for my delivery, until then i am trying to read up on all i can.

So could some of you give me some helpful hints for what to do once i get it? Things to keep in mind, what not to do? What to try 1st? Thoughts in general?

Thanks!

Katdarling did an awesome overview of the Darwin so check out that page. Using Darwin is easier than anything I've come across. 1 good piece of advice that I got was to let it charge each night and not wait until drained to top off the battery.

There have been a number of newbies here (myself included) so if you look back over the past week's threads you'll get a lot of good advice from people who have used longer than me.

Congrats on owning an awesome mod! You're gonna love it. I can't imagine being without it.

Well first thing is to pss off your partner so you will be left alone to play with the Darwin all night. Next and all kidding aside get a lower nic juice. For your first few days you will most likely hit this thing like a bad stepchild. Try out some of those atty's that seem to have no kick left and dial up the wattage. You will have found a goldmine if you saved them.

So you are saying I need to have something other than my 36 nic ????

Holy crap, yea once you hit it a couple times you'll just want to keep hitting it, and hitting it, and hitting it.. I brings these attics and carts to life for sure.. This watts thing is sweet. You just set whatever watts(heat) you like throw on any atty or cart and POW, awesome vape every time.. If it don't taste exactly right, drop it down a hair and try again...

I didn't have to lower my nic w the darwin.. I did have a vv device before tho. It threw error codes with my emdcc's so I sold it, but vaping dual coils on the darwin... I probably should have lowered from 24mg but didn't, now I can't vape single coils with that nice level! It aint enough :\ maybe if I spike some liquid with 100mg nic juice just for regular stuff, bring it to 30mg. Dont spoil yourself with too much nic ppl! N be broken like me, haha! :vapor:

I have a little question about the battery. I see everyone raving about going days on a charge. I've only had my Darwin for a few weeks, but I have yet to manage getting through a whole day on a charge. I've resorted to carrying my Provari along too, to ensure I don't run out of juice. Everything else about it works great. And I can usually get a work day out of it, and a bit of the evening before the meter goes all the way down, volts go crazy and the display flickers, so I could just use it as a passthrough, but I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the unit or if it's normal behavior.

I've tried with DC / LR cartos that obviously drain it faster, and allot of high resistance single coil cartomizers. My favorite right now is a 3,2 SC cartomizer, and I vape it at around 8,5-10 watts.

I charge the battery overnight. I've read most of the thread and have not found an exact answer to this. Anyone have any tips, or just some experience to share? :)

Yeah I guess I'm a fairly heavy vaper too now with using the Provari and Darwin especially and I can't get through a day with one charge on a Darwin and I find an 18650 lasts longer which is why I was asking if a bigger battery is possible. But if you're at a computer or near an outlet with I think somebody said a 2A wall adapter to USB cord you can use it like a passthrough sorta and get much better life that way. You could have a cord plugged in your computer and one near your chair and chain vape away unless it gets in somebody's way. Also someone said you can leave it plugged into your USB indefinitely and it will stop charging when full, I do it while it's off and I'm using something else and then I'll check if it's full and unplug it just in case.
