The Darwin From Evolv!!!

Gnardays was probably talking about using the holster that comes with it. I usually just pocket it with or without the holster but if you were to put it on your belt, I could see where leaking could be a concern for a dripper like myself. I don't like it on my belt anyways so it's not a problem

If you're really worried about it leaking with the carto/atty facing down, just keep a spare carto condom in your pocket and slip that over your drip tip when you're going to have it angled that way. FWIW I've never had one leak on me, but I just had that thought as I started posting ;-)

I think you'll be satisfied ;-) Personally, I prefer higher resistance on the Darwin. Many of my juices just don't taste great at higher watts and at 1.5 ohms you can't actually get below 8.4 or so watts, regardless of what the display says (for example, I find the DV Orange Blossom is perfect at around 6 watts, but is not so great above 8 watts, so it sucks on LR gear), but a 3 ohm atty gives me the kind of room for adjustment I need

Yeah, mine too. Sent it in because the screen went blank, Brandon assured me he was shipping it out last week. I keep asking them at the Post Office have you got my package yet. I am lucky to have my backup 2nd Darwin but I do miss my other one.

I remember my original Darwin had an issue... its been so long that I forgot what it was, but it required a replacement. I was amazed that they cross shipped without question. No hassle at all. Quite a risky move for a company to make, to risk a second $200+ dollar unit on the honesty of a customer, but it was incredible customer service. I still look back on that memory with a smile... I still would love a backup Darwin, though, if for no other reason that to have one when my sister Hamburglar's my baby every time she wants to vape!

Yeah, that was cool. They had to stop doing that (shipping a replacement before receiving the damaged unit) because some didn't return them. They ruined it for the rest of use, jerks.

Still, Evolv really works hard to turn around RMA units quickly. They provide a level of customer service that exceeds any I have ever seen in any industry.

In a word - no. As long as it is not overfilled (no juice pooling above the filler). Frankly, attys don't leak (for me) either unless they too are overfilled. I posted about this a while back and Drew called is "dripuversity" - you can search that term in this thread and find the post.

the darwin is just not for me... cosmetically it is lacking imo. I've owned it for approx 7 months now, and for the last 4 months, it's just collecting dust. The swing arm is fragile and the flashing internal calibration that goes off every few seconds is just plain annoying. It is tank unfriendly, and tanks are all i use now. It is a fantastic concept coupled with sub-par design and engineering. Again, just my opinion

Sobero, I think you should put the Darwin up for adoption. If you send it to me I'll provide a loving home. I've tried a number of mods and, to date, nothing touches my Darwin.

The swing arm has dramatically improved from previous versions and is nice and stiff w/ two firm locking positions. There is no flashing unless you are vaping and the battery life is amazing. I'm in love w/ the form - pocketable, light and I'm not afraid to lay it down or use with a tank.

I disagree with you on it being sub-par engineering and fragile swing arm, but the machine work isn't very polished. I kind of agree about the flashing too, I believe that the latest models don't flash. This was probably a software change to introduce the background test and the hardware had to catch up. I still love mine, but I respect your opinion.

There are so many mods out there, and not one will be all things to all people. I'm glad you gave it a shot, though. You should list it in the classys, there are a lot of people looking to buy right now.

Ah... thats such a shame. For some reason, all the goodness that I see on ECF blinded me to the fact that as the vaping community gets larger, there are bound to be some unscrupulous people that pick up on vaping. Statics will eventually prevail. I had hoped for better, though... Evolv isn't Walmart, it can't easily afford losses. Shame on those people.

I think I'd like to get another Darwin... one of the newer ones with the locking arm and the no-flashing. I thought the flashing might have just been my particular Darwin as the very first one I got soon after its release didn't flash.

Did they change the LED color at all? Maybe to a deeper blue? *drool*

question about the 3 postions of the arm, when its in the first two postitions is it normal to have a little wiggle to it? cause thats what mine does but in the last position it is fully still
