Hi all, back in the murky Midwest, came home to the last of a few inches of snow melting away. Nice to visit other places, but always great to be home (and type on a real keyboard, dang netbooks). My clacker keyboard of choice is a good old IBM Model M, so any small keyboard is bad for me.

Mutt, very impressive Darwin lineup! I had never see any pics of that first one. These are obviously milled with a CNC, it would be easy for Evol to accept custom images for some different ones. I had a friend that ran a CNC many years ago. It was paper tape, if that gives any idea of how long ago.

I understand changing up tooling is not trivial sometimes, but for a large batch? How about an ECF logo, or anything that enough people want? Or, perhaps have a contest for a run of custom logos?

How much heavier is the un-milled one? I know it's aluminum, and would be the same dimensions, but would be a little more mass.

The first one in the pictures was huge compared to the finally product. It was a basic aluminum case that housed all the electronics, had a big dial, the charging port was on the side. The 2 pieces went together and was wrapped in black rubber tape. It got a lot of negative comments based on looks, but all the workings were pretty much the same. Brandon and the other guys at Evolv really slimmed down the packaging and rounded the corners and designed pretty much the perfect device. As far as CNC milling different logos and designs, that would be a question for Brandon at Evolv, but I would think they are busy working on other projects, some they have announced, some they have not.

And for anyone interested, here is a picture of the very first completed Darwin, held by its maker Brandon. When I got these pics, the final design was very much on the downlow. It is pretty much the design as it is now, but this was the very first one made. You can see the original button design that was changed:

And moonshake, I'm with you in wondering. I've been watching and waiting too. Hopefully whoever notices first will come notify the thread :)

I called and spoke with Sean(?) at Nhaler and he stated they 'probably' won't go on sale today b/c they haven't received any yet. He wasn't very specific as to when it would but he said he guesses sometime this week. Hopefully Drew can chime in with an update, until then, I'll keep hitting the refresh button on their webpage for the Darwin.

It's not something that I would babysit the computer for. When I was on the notification list, I rushed to the site when I got the email  It usually stays in stock for a little while :D

Hey has anyone tried the GG Ody on their Darwin yet? Let me know what you did and how it goes:D

Yep :) Like anything else you put on the Darwin, it vaped very nicely ;-) I had a coil wrapped that was too high resistance for a good 3.7v vape and too low resistance for 6v, so I tried it on my variable mods

Only things to consider with the Ody on a Darwin are the center pin (make sure you set it properly during assembly for the best fit, like you would with any other mod) and the thing is HEAVY, weighs almost as much as the Darwin, so it's a little unwieldy when I don't have the arm locked in the fully open position. Even then, it totally screws with the weight distribution and is not as comfortable to hold. That point alone actually makes Odysseus the first piece of gear that I don't prefer on the Darwin over other mods

I was running my Ody on my Darwin but like Killjoy says it's just to damn Top heavy, and the first thing I didnt like on my Darwin, so its back to the Vision Cartos for me or Atty in a sleeve

I'm not surprised that the Ody creates problems with the Darwin, but a little sad nonetheless :(

Speaking of atties in the sleeve, will the drip shields from nhaler allow the arm to close?
