That brings up a question, is the display dimmable or is there a way to turn it off when not needed?

I don't believe it can be dimmed...I believe all the controls are as have always been. The screen is very nice or "pretty" for lack of a better term. Really can't due it justice with a pic but you get the idea. Gonna take a bit of time to get use to the adjustable wheel I think but that's no complaint as it's just different than what I'm use to. Came with a bit more than half charged battery and charging it up now. Really nothing I can say about it that hasn't been said......it's "sweet" for sure.:)

I thought that the screen would illuminate when the dial adjustment was being used not just when using the activation button. That IMO would be great for a future revision.

EDIT: Yes, the multi-position locking arm is very nice as well...I'm such a "noob" I obviously can't appreciate the changes as some or most of you all but ya gotta start at some point....glad I got one.

I got my 2nd today and both of mine have the latest revisions,, these Darwins are by far the best electronics on today's Market in the e-cig world Bar None ! vaping with anything else is like being a player on the bench compared to a starter in the All-Star game !! Thanks Brandon and Drew, you guy's ROCK.

Thanks for the pics Chopperguys!

I love blue --- but I like my original screen too.

I can read the black lettering of the watts setting in very dim light so I never even thought about it lighting up when changing positions as a feature.

My next Darwin in going to be "stealthy" or "kicky"! lol

Funny thought while I've been playing with this thing.....if it's adjustable "on the fly" I wanna see it done because I see no way that can happen or I just don't have the manual dexterity to make it happen..... As I said just a thought I had messing with it......amazing device it is....:)

Don't forget that the arm does not have to be fully extended all the time. I.E. You can set it at 90 degrees, 130 degrees, etc.

So imagine you have a massive tank on your Darwin set to 90 degrees.
Now you could easily lay it flat on a table, in your lap, etc, with the tank staying upright.

With the arm set at 90 degrees:
Pick it up with the right hand...overhanded (palm downward/outward)...with your fore finger or middle finger on the button. It's more than likely going to naturally be kicked out to the side (like a flute or toothbrush) when you pick it up (You'll be looking at the screen when you put the carto in your mouth), and can use your forefinger to sweep the wheel.

Left handed? No problem...pick it up underhanded (palm inward) instead and you've got free fingers for button pushing/wheel flicking. Can also pick it up overhanded and use the thumb for button pushing.

Anyway, the point is this.
Play around with that arm position. You'll find that it gives all sorts of options in how to hold and manipulate the Darwin for use in various body positions and space considerations. About the only time I ever have mine 'fully extended' is if I'm going to be standing up and walking around a bunch while using it. Of course that's just me....it's a really flexible device.

yea i cant really explain how i didnt it exactly but normally i would pick it up with my left hand (even though im right handed, i always smoked with my left hand to flick out the window when driving) and be looking at the screen upside down, but generally i think the term on the go, meant you just turn the wheel to what you want, no need for 20 button presses then up or down to get a voltage liek anothe rpopular mod or a screwdriver to change the voltage like many other mods

I thought the whole "be careful, don't over-nic!" thing was a joke, but it actually happened to me...

Just too focused on seeing what I could do with it to notice how much I'd been vaping! Lesson learned. Gotta relax and take my time :)

The fun part is I brought out some old atties that haven't seen use in months and played with them for a while--been using dual coils pretty much exclusively for a while. Found out the cut black drip shield I have fits and closes with no friction!

Really looking forward to more experiments :)

NEWS FLASH TO ALL DARWINIANS.........

We all know that Brandon (EVOLV) has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. My Darwin's batteries were degrading and I wanted them to check a few other things also. My battery warranty would have expired in April anyway, so I sent a check to pay for the battery replacement. Turn around on my Darwin was one day after they received it. But Brandon refused my payment for the battery replacement because the batteries were still in warranty.

This just highlights the business practices of EVOLV and Brandon's commitment to excellence.

With that said, I wish to help out a fellow Darwinian who may be in need due to financial hardship. I know that there are those who may need a little help in purchasing some e-liquid, carto's, atty's, and etc. So, for Brandon, I wish to Pay-It-Forward, in Brandon's name, to some one in need, a little help (to equal the amount of the check he refused).

If you are TRULY in need of a little assistance, just PM me with the details, and I will order e-juice, carto's,..etc. and have the order shipped to you. I will read the first 10 PM's. and pick from them. All others will just be deleted. Will update this post to let you know when 10 PM's have been received....
