What a lovely offer, retird! Yes, it is about Brandon and Evolv, but it is also about you. Whatta love you are.

:toast:
On another note, if anyone would like to come party tomorrow, it's my turning day (around 3-4pm PST 1:00PM Pacific Standard Time would be a good time to arrive) on the Pre-Vet thread. Wear a funny hat or T-shirt and let's celebrate!

NEWS FLASH TO ALL DARWINIANS.........

We all know that Brandon (EVOLV) has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. My Darwin's batteries were degrading and I wanted them to check a few other things also. My battery warranty would have expired in April anyway, so I sent a check to pay for the battery replacement. Turn around on my Darwin was one day after they received it. But Brandon refused my payment for the battery replacement because the batteries were still in warranty.

This just highlights the business practices of EVOLV and Brandon's commitment to excellence.

With that said, I wish to help out a fellow Darwinian who may be in need due to financial hardship. I know that there are those who may need a little help in purchasing some e-liquid, carto's, atty's, and etc. So, for Brandon, I wish to Pay-It-Forward, in Brandon's name, to some one in need, a little help (to equal the amount of the check he refused).

If you are TRULY in need of a little assistance, just PM me with the details, and I will order e-juice, carto's,..etc. and have the order shipped to you. I will read the first 10 PM's. and pick from them. All others will just be deleted. Will update this post to let you know when 10 PM's have been received....

It's what makes those of you with Darwins keep coming back, and those of us without want to become Darwinians!

But all are welcome in the Darwin-nation (this sub-forum) whether they have been Darwinated yet, or not. I myself am pretty evangelical about Darwin, but in the bigger picture, the various devices themselves can easily veer toward hobby/collecting/zealotry.

It's more important that we don't smoke. Whatever device lets us be completely free from smoking is the best one for us. Thanks to Drew/Brandon/Evolv for making this particular method possible, it is the best one for me!

That's why I can't wait for the Kick! A way for me to try higher voltage at a price point that's likely within reach! And I'll have my mod built and ready by the release date.

OK so I got my Darwin in the mail today and it is awesome. I however feel very inadequate. I have tinkered a bit with it but I cannot for the life of me think of anything to use the 12 volt setting on. I am afraid the way my visions light up in the 7 & 8 range. I THINK i AM GOING TO HURT MYSELF lol unintentionally of course. Could someone give me some advice as to what voltage I should or should not use and with what. Thanks I love my new toy just wish I knew how to use it to its full advantage.

First, those settings are WATTS - not voltage. Very different. 12.7 Watts is a very hot vape. Some like it that hot but it is more of a Niche sweet spot.

When using dual coil attys/cartos, you may want to try playing with the upper limits because dual coils are really two higher resistance coils wired in parallel which end up reading as LR - but they can take much higher power levels than single coil LR gear.

Your best bet is to start at the soft-stop on the wheel (about 8.5 watts = large number on the display) and then play with small adjustments from there. Best also to start off using standard resistance (2.2 Ωs or higher) and then, as you get more experience using Darwin, try other gear.

When you activate the device, you can see the smaller numbers displaying the info of the Ωs of the atty/carto attached, the volts and amps Darwin is choosing to use to deliver to you the watts level you have set (large number on display).

Basically, have fun playing and not to worry. Flavors will change at different Watts levels and you just have to find the setting that YOU like the best for YOUR juices and attys/cartos. There is no "right" number - there is only YOUR "right" number.

YIM, I'll make some suggestions in a few easy steps:

STEP 1 - Send Darwin to me
STEP 2 - Enjoy the good karma that'll come your way
STEP 3 - No need for any more steps, success has been acheived!

Seriously, wish i could help but I can't so I won't! :p Someone will able able to though I'm sure!

Yeah_its_me, welcome to the bunch. If you put a 510 threaded LED on it, it would make a great (expensive) flashlight turned all the way up... There is no correct voltage. Start at the detent of 8.7 watts, and go up or down as you like it. Darwin adjusts the voltage, based on what resistance of your atty/carto is, to maintain the wattage (the big numbers). The big numbers are what you care about most, the others are there just for information.

I know in most of the rest of the vaping world, voltage is important. You crank it up or down (or use different batteries). If you are fastidious about it, you then measure the resistance of your atty/caro, then consult a chart (or Ohm's law calculator) to see what wattage you are vaping. With Darwin, just set the watts, it adjusts itself.

In general, higher resistance atty/cartos will give you the same experience, and the battery will last longer. LR may heat up slightly faster, and that may or may not be what you want.
