You can use pliers with a cloth, but chances are you are going to ruin the adapter....

dschumske, I thought I had some bad cartos, brand new ones wouldn't fire. My 510-510 adapter's threads were getting very sloppy. I discovered I could wiggle the carto, and it would fire.
On putting one back in, they aren't substantial enough to crank down on them hard at all. I run the new one in loosely until it just touches, then with pliers/cloth, turn it LESS THAN ONE EIGHTH OF A TURN. I only want it a little tighter than my finger strength.
My first one was finger-tight, I unscrewed it with a carto, and threw it away...

Well, it's actually going well in there, I was prepared for the worst. Sorry Chornbro, can't, got to have backups. of backups. Not having to stress about "will it work today" is an important part of me quitting smoking.
Just got me Chopperized Cherry Red DARWIN.. so I am now a Darwinian ;P and happy to be one as well! Now alls i need is the ODY ;(

I'll probably send my first one out if I am able to obtain a second but there are probably going to be so many cool looking mods coming soon with the dna in them 
I finally pulled the trigger on a back up.... got an EGO passthrough... 3.7v 650mah battery w/ 510 threads. Charges with the same mini-usb as my Darwin... and I have 2x1.5ohm Cisco 306s that'll vape nicely... Got one used for $13.
Darn! Anyone else have one? I've got a decent offer! Lol
