More adapters usually add a bit more resistance.

As sort of a control I just tested a 3.0 boge on my Klein MM1000 (not the best, but its been pretty accurate so far with basic stuff. capacitance testing is so-so for higher values). These are the results I got in different scenarios:

Darwin's reading:
Screwed on snug, no adapters: 2.9Ω
Screwed on snug, one adapter (as well as two adapters, same result): 2.9Ω

Klein MM1000 Digital Multimeter:
Tested on multimeter, one lead going into meter slightly loose: 9.1Ω
Tested on multimeter, touching but not applying much pressure: 3.1Ω
Tested on multimeter, applying adequate pressure to make solid connection: 2.9Ω

The first result I got was 4Ω then 9Ω til I realized the lead wasnt plugged in all the way.

I agree with you on the boges. I have a provari telling me the ohm. The multi meter confirming the same ohm. That ohm matches with the manufacturing specs. And MY Darwin is .06 under all of the above. I'm pretty confident it needs to be calibrated. I am the third owner.

Trudat. If ya feel that it's not working correctly evolv is really good with customer support and prompt warranty repair, in my experience. I give it two thumbs  . But I will say, to possibly save you from wasting $ shipping it out and all that, I'd check again on another meter or at least change the batteries on it and make sure its a real good connection. From what I remember on the provari I had, it was always a few numbers off - more of a novelty than anything imo. Not saying you're wrong or anything bad like that - just tryin to help a fellow vaper :) electricity is a mysterious magical type force with lots-a factors in play

Dude! Sweet price on the Dwin and all the goodies that went with it. Glad I didn't see that classy thread or I would have bought it!!!

None of our PVs are lab-grade measuring devices, and resistance changes throughout the relatively short lifetimes of a carto. Resistance can also change with the temperature, and our cartos are going from room temp to operating temp across 10 seconds or less (massive steam-engine vapers notwithstanding).

It is a convenience to be able to see the approximate resistance of a carto, and cool that we can see it change as it ages. In the case of Darwin, it is great that we can set the (approximate) wattage, and let Darwin juggle everything else on the fly to keep a very consistent vape.

UPDATE

Sent an email to Evolv and had a response from Brandon in about 0.1 seconds. I explained all of the accumulative information from the past couple days, and...

Hi Justin

The sense block was damaged somehow (usually a shorted atty or carto is to blame). Please send your Darwin to:

********

We'll repair is and ship it back ASAP.

Thanks,

He is the best in the biz when it comes to responding to emails amongst other things, glad to hear he knew exactly what the problem was. I once mentioned to him, how quickly he always responded and he said that there are currently 16 Brandons working at evolv, 15 clones and him.

Where is Darwinia?

I see how it is. Nic comas, one and all.

I'll just sit here on my blue tarp and wait...
Haha we're all waiting patiently... Or at least I am ;p someone blabbed some info from Brandon in a Facebook group. Total speculation, but could we get a 30 day countdown anyways? :]
