If you can pry out the threads. Take a needle nose and pry and turn and pry and turn and grumble and pry and turn. It will slip over the silver band if you accomplish this and provide some protection for the connection. Air flow may be a little tighter.
The threads are just glued into the cone.....very well
Unfortunately for you Sara, the normal Echo batteries don't have cone threads either. The igo is the battery you're after if you want to use a cone with your KR808 cartos.
Well, it's no big deal. I've got 10 of the Echo cartos to look stylish anyway. I might try your needle nose pliers trick though, the cone was like $2 so it's no big loss if I mess it up! I'd rather have an auto battery than an iGo with a cone I think, so I'd say I made out pretty good. 
EDIT: I was thinking of putting earth magnets on it, but I couldn't find any small enough and it would probably end up looking pretty ridiculous which would pretty much defeat the point of the cone. Haha!

that's what I figured when I decided to see if I could pry it off. I have a previous post in this thread today where I removed the metal connector part of a dead echo cart. I now have a jumbo cone that fits almost all the way over an xl clearomizer.

it's kind of a cool coincidence that you came along right after I had just accomplished this and posted about it. Now I'm just wondering how to punch a small hole in the side, about the size of the hole in your stealth for improved air flow.
I don't have a method yet for the dual coil echos. I did figure out a method for the dual coils gogos though. The outer shell comes off and exposes the filler for easy cleaniong and dry burn. Then it's a simple matter on the two coils to rewarap with a larger inner filler. They work great. Actually better than new with the added inner filler. But so far, there's no way to remove the filler on the EDCC without destroying the coils.
SarraBee- Enjoy that stealth. I have had mine for a couple weeks and like them better than my regular Echos.
I was hyped about the dual coils everyone, but like many of you I may be going back to single coils. They do last slightly longer in my oppinion. I'm going to have my wife put one of each on my bats to see if I can tell the difference. I can tell pepsi from coke, but can I tell single from dual coil?

At first I thought that DCs and 1300 batts were the only way to go but now not so sure. I prefer the single echomizers but haven't decided if I prefer the 650 or 1300. I can REALLY burn through a LOT of juice with a DC and a 1300!
yep. These things are perfect as is. I made an analogy the other day that 808s and 510s are like macs vs pcs. One is great right out of the box as is, the other offers more options to upgrade and play around. 510s may have needed the upgrade to a dcc, but these carts already performed well. It is a little better and I will probably always want both but I think I will wind up having more single coils. I also wish I went for the 650/1300 option that mtn vapor offers. I like the big batt but it is bit too much for carrying when you are doing physical activity. The 650 is a little safer.
One final thing is the sealed battery isn't the greatest thing to happen to autos. While I am more confident using clearos, the Change in the post is a step back in making the 808 more user friendly as they do not accept anything but other 808 threads. They don't work with adapters or 901s.
Next purchase is an unsealed 650 and a 5 pack of single coils.

Your comment on the gogos got me looking a little closer at the Echos. Have a couple of retired Echo-E cartos and screwed an old battery on and wiggled it back a forth until it came loose and pulled out of the shell. Appears the only difference between them and the 901 threaded units is the working parts are just pushed in further. Will try to figure out what I can thread to the 901 connection that will give me some leverage to be able to pull one of them apart.
The first step will probably be to place the carto on a firm wood surface, use a small socket just smaller than the shell and tap the working parts in further with a hammer to break the seal then pull it out with some threaded device. If I have any success I'll post the results.
Yes Folks, it's ridiculous, the trouble some of us will go to to add a little life to a $3 carto.

I'm having a bit of an issue with my charger and wondering if any of y'all could help? The red LED on the charger itself never turns green to tell me the battery is charged. It always stays red. I've charged each of my batteries for over 24 hours each, so I know they must be good to go. I have the Stealth version, so there's no big LED on the end that turns off to tell me when it's charged either and the pinhole light on my version isn't viable when it's plugged in. I'm worried about leaving my batteries charging too long and having them explode or something.
Here's my question; is my charger defective or is it just a Stealth thing? If you have a normal Echo, does your charger light turn green when it's done or does the light on the end of your PV just turn off?
My charger does work. I vaped a battery until it was dead and recharged it. I just don't know when to take it off the charger! :/

Well, I guess this means I'll have to figure out a way to see the pinhole on mine when I charge. I foresee a prison style mirror system in my future. LOL
I have 4 chargers......one has a red to blue charge and the end of the battery does not glow at all; one goes from red to green and no battery glow; another goes from red to green and the battery glows all the time whether it's charged or not and one that goes from red to green but the batttery only glows for a little while but it is not fully charged until the charger shows green. There doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency.

those are not "screw slots" they are channels to allow for air flow.

OK thanks for the correction. On an 808 you can adjust the draw by making the air flow channels not line up with the air holes in the battery. I've only been doing the vape thing for 8 months so I have a lot to learn.
Do these fit the Echo? I'm having a difficult time finding tips that fit right.
I bought some chrome drip tips and had to take a file and take off the chrome beneath the o-ring because they would not fit the single or dual coil echomizers. Now they fit the stainless single coil echomizers from SmokTek very well but will still not fit the dual echomizers from Mountain Vapor. I don't know how the aluminum tips will fit but I will report back when they arrive. At that price it's worth it to see if anything will fit right out of the box. Ikenvape advertises aluminum whistle tips which I would really prefer but they have been out of stock forever.
