Glad you like the Ego. Mine's the Tornado. After trying many various PV's, it's all I use. A Tornado/ Ego and a extra Large Ego Carto is as close as it gets to perfect. Vapor, TH, Flavor, and most of all ease of use! It doesn't get easier. I went through the super charged mods, LR attys and carts, PT's. Since they came out with the Big carto, man it gets no better.

I have gone through 5 Ego (Tornado) batteries and 3 Rivas since April 20 of last year when I quit. The Tornados just stopped working and would no longer charge or light up. The Rivas all had switch failures.

I am done with buying mods that do not have a replaceable battery. Fortunately, I have a Screwdriver and DSE 905 as backups with 510 adapters, and a Buzz for high voltage. None of these units has given me an issue. I just ordered an Icon and a Pro Vari. The Icon can use protected batteries if one takes out the washers (tried my 14500 protected on my friend's unit, and they do work). The Icon will be my go to unit when I am out and about.

LiIon Batteries will fail eventually, and I have lost a few but I can order them from Deal Extreme for $5 or less a piece depending on the type-that's a lot cheaper than $15-$25 that the ego/mega ego costs with shipping.

Pity, the ego looks cool and has respectable vaping time, but they don't last long.

I agree with you tonyorion that the ego looks nice, but doesn't last long. The ego was my first e-cig purchase back in October of 2010 and I had nothing but trouble with it. I could not get the batts to charge and was sent both replacement batts and chargers but the problem persisted. So after only two months vaping with the ego, I purchased the prodigy v3.1 and threw the ego into a drawer to collect dust. Never again will I use an e-cig that is not a battery mod. They (ego's) are a hassle to charge and unreliable IMO.

Now, if they were to design an ego that used separate batts from the housing unit and had a cut off switch, I would be one of the first to try it because I love the design of the ego. I do however need more than looks in my PV and rate performance much higher up than cosmetics.

Now to all you out there who love your ego's, please understand that I am in no way attempting to defame the ego or your choice. This was just my own experience and one that I have no desire to repeat.

In all fairness, I should point out that I did weeks of research before deciding on purchasing the ego. I found so many good reviews about it and believed I was getting a quality product. I'm sure that there are many people who have had very good results from there ego's, I'm just not one of them. It's quite possible that there was a problem with a batch of batts or chargers, but what is the chance that I would have the same problem with 4 batts, 3 usb chargers, and two wall chargers, shipped at different times? That was enough to turn me away from any PV that did not have separate batts from the main unit.
