with all thats happening in the u.k. ect.. and big tobacco moving in on the e-cig business, is this the beginning of the end of vapeing as we know it? if big tobacco co's are in on the game surely they will make liscencing unaffordable to most vendors and put them out of business- they however have the big bucks and will be able to pay thus reaping in the profits. will we have to buy pre-filled carto/clearo's at inflated prices, and will buying nic to mix your own will be a thing of the past? maybe im being a bit of a doomsdayer, but with whats happening in the uk and what will eventually happen in the u.s., surely this will be the end of the "golden weather" - hope im wrong but knowing how big business works...... your thoughts?????

well it's being considered a medicine in the UK, so it depends how it happens here. I heard it was worse for new Zealand than UK?

I wrote the Vaper's Handbook in order to teach people how to make their own juice and atomizers so they never have to fear a hostile takeover. Knowledge is power. They will never ban the parts, chemicals, and batteries needed to vape. You can't uninvent something. Once the knowledge exists it can never be stopped. Teach yourself and you will never be afraid again, no matter what happens to the industry.

yea its classed as a medicine here too, but we cant buy e-juice with nic from within the country, we have to import it!!! or buy nic and mix our own.. if e-liquid with nic was to be able to be sold here i reckon a lot more people would quit the ciggies... quite a few people who i have turned on to vapeing get put off by the fact they have to import/ and or mix there own, even though its easy azz..

Does that include growing tobacco and performing extractions? How can we see the handbook?

The info u seek is also in ECF, nor sure about the handbook, but I've read NS copied everything I need to know about rebuilding, DIY and extraction etc etc etc.

I've also for enough stock for 3 years, and lots of time to have more.

That being said our fate is in our hands, and that depends on how we go about defending our right of choice, and freewill.

It IS the end of vaping as we know it. Vaping as we know it for a while now has been done with the specter of the FDA looming over us.

When the fight is made, we will overcome those meddling, know-it-all, disgusting Statist ANTZ. I welcome this fight. They are counting on us to be afraid. They are counting on us to be sheep, doing as we are told because they say so. Science is on our side. Logic is on our side. Common sense is on our side. All the weapons we need to win this fight are right there for us to take.

Our enemies are not so scary. Let's be an example to our brothers in the UK and everywhere else that people would take the right to vape away. Let whip the FDA's butts, and remind them not to meddle in our affairs. When the battle is joined, we must take the fight to them.

With BP and BT already having the equipment, factories, tech and processing plants etc and their decades of research, some questionable of course, some valid already in place - of course the govt is going to give the license to manufacture and retail to BT or BP, it's a no-brainer.

I don't want that, as I like my ego and I like my juices from my preferred company - Janty.

But if it comes down to it I'd vote for BT as I can see BP making some bland looking inhaler with a no flavor nic juice in it, not too different to what they have already.

At least BT if you look at the NJOY King, have made a product that actually gets good reviews even though it still costs more than smoking cigs..... (are NJOY owned by a BT company?) Well anyway BT will make the sexier product, obviously. Likely they'll be pressurized by the government to make it at least no more expensive than cigarettes.

Another alternative is that if smaller, independent businesses meet the right criteria and regulatory checks etc, the may be granted a license to buy liquid nicotine or make it and sell it, but yeah their costs will no doubt go up and then so will ours.

Can't see any other outcomes really and the third being the unlikeliest. Writing on the wall and all that. Just being a realist.

The future of the industry is in our hands.

This cannot be said enough. The reality is most can't be bothered to get actively involved with their local organizations that fight legislation designed to curtail or ban vaping. Sitting around and complaining doesn't cut it.

them is fighting words!!! me likey!!!!!! even if importing of unflavoured nic gets banned in my country i'd probally still vape!!! i do find it strange that nic is classed as a medicine, but cigarettes are not- and can be brought at every corner store ect... if the powers that be were to let us vape wouldn't that in turn destroy the tobacco co's- thus killing off the ciggies that have been killing people my the thousands every year!!! its so obviously about the $$$$ and not our health!!!!!

Perfect. I almost didn't read this thread after getting about half way through the first post because the doom and gloom paranoia that is rampant on the board when it comes to this topic. I'm glad someone is saying this and others are agreeing.

BTW, I took the pic out of the quote to emphasize content, but that is a cool pic.

I, for one, am glad Rosa Parks, Gandi, Martin Luther King, Susan B. Anthony, and a host of others were not "realists" like you.

Now we are not trying to save human rights as an underclass of citizens here. We are guaranteed the rights we need to make ourselves heard. All we have to do is protect our right to vape! Look at what the people above accomplished, and be shamed if you are unwilling to try to fight this fight. Please, don't tell me there is nothing we can do.

The line must be drawn clearly! Not a single right surrendered, vape as we do today. Our "Golden Age of vaping" must go on!

This industry, particularly the e-liquid manufacturing industry, is something Americans are great at. Why on earth should we allow fascists and corporate slugs to take it and ruin it? Stand with HHV, MOV, Ahlusion, and every other wonderful manufacturer of our favorite e-liquids. To concede defeat is patently absurd. Our right to vape is in our hands.

right on eddar!!!! you my friend are right on the money there!!!!

just a thought- if like in the u.k. they class as nic as a medicine, then cant i just go get it from the doc.. save importing it and shipping fees!!!!

What makes you think you'll be able to get juice? Most likely you'll be limited to cigalikes that are manufactured by approved companies.

I've been saying this for years, but in the end we are going to get exactly what we deserve.

I continue to hold out hope that if the proposed deeming regulations are as bad as many fear...
Vapers all across this country are going to rise up, be mad as hell, and decide they aren't going to take it anymore.

If they don't? Well, I've got 10 years worth of nicotine in my freezer.

You are forgetting two things:

BT has big bucks and therefore owns many politicians and so they get the legislation they want.

while.much lip service is given ti the desire to cure cancer it will never happen becaus BP makes big bucks off of treatment, not curing. BP has big bucks and therefore owns many politicians and so they get the lehislation they want.

Grassroots fighting is the only way. It's the only way any revolution happens.
