yeah i tell people its an ecigarette just because that is the most common name and most of the time i dont feel like having a 20 minute discussion on how its a PV.

the most common answer: "oh thats great. how long has it been since you last smoked? how much did you spend on that thing? do they really work?"

second most common: "oh one of those fake cigarettes... they dont work..." and my answer to that is "if they dont work can you explain how i was a pack a day smoker from the time i was 15 but the last cigarette i smoked was on the day i got my first battery while it was charging?" 9 out of 10 times they just shrug and the other one time they just continue thinking they dont work. you cant win them all.

most every smoker wants to quit and i think alot of them think PVs are just too good to be true. i cant blame them cause i thought the same thing until i got mine in the mail. i also dont think it helps that at least where i live 99% of the stores that sell PV products are head shops. "so you have to buy ur ecig stuff at the .... store? sounds kinda sketchy..." me: "it does.. but its not!"

i think i will start telling people i went to the future, and in the future this has replaced cigarettes lol.

I got all that nonsense from smokers before while I'm out on the parking garage with them, minding my own business. Two of the more heavy and critical smokers that I work with recently asked me to get them what I've been vaping. It took them a year and three months. I didn't push them whatsoever. They were just tired of the coughing and the smell (probably a bunch of other things). One of them were even on the patch, but still had to smoke because it wasn't working. After their first day of vaping they said it satisfied them completely (they haven't smoked since). I think it helped that I knew what quality products / juices to buy.

Now, since I've worked at my job, I was always a vaper, so people just thought I was weird (don't really care). But what I noticed with my two co-workers is the other smokers they used to light up with started to get upset. Tried to tempt them into having a cig with them. One of them said "Ooooooo, not you TOO?! He got you smoking those things?!" My conclusion on that is smokers like the validation that other smokers give them. They don't like it when people quit. Especially when they've found something better.

Those who continue to smoke are fed up with people telling them they should quit.
E-smokers, without even saying anything ... are visual reminders that others quit
implying they should also.

My friends and I have a very strict "no smoking" motto. We NEVER call it smoking or call the plumes we produce "smoke". We specifically call it vapor, vaping and then correct anyone who says smoke. "Actually, there is no smoke. It is a vapor produced by the atomization, not burning, of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine with a nicotine additive and cake and candy flavorings."

We also generally say "mods", "Devices", or "units". We never call it an "Ecig" or "Electronic cigarette".

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm fairly certain that the PV in most forms has a pretty good public awareness .. especially since we've had some National TV ad exposure a la BLU and what not .. the cig-a-likes seem to be everywhere as well ..

I call mine "My Little Friend" .. :)

I call it my "nicotine inhaler" and have only got positive feedback, even from people who think all smokers should die quickly and get it over with. They hear that and say way to go man, keep it up, best of luck quitting :) So it really does pay to try to associate yourself with a product from big pharma, because as always, they have the government and the people in their back pocket. So this is fancier version of that. If we call it an e cigarette though this will conjure up all the propaganda about these things being deadly poison and all that :)

"Nicotine Inhaler" that's what I'm going to call them from now on, thanks!
