Someone while working ask me if I saw this story today. So I looked it up on-line when I got home. I broke the link (you will have to put the 3 parts back together) so you will have to copy and paste. Now here is the question: If you were vaping to help you quit smoking and this happened to you, would your first instinct be to call your local news station and ask them to send out a reporter and cameraman??? I think it is just BS. Either this is a "plant" or this guy is incredibly stupid. He is definitely stupid because he plugged it into his laptop. But calling a reporter smells like an ANTZ "plant" to me:

Could be an ANTZ, but my first thought when this happens is he's setting himself up to sue somebody.

I get your point and more or less agree; but I wouldn't call him stupid for plugging it into his laptop. For it to explode, it had to have had a battery - charging a battery from any computer is perfectly acceptable (with appropriate charging cable/adapter). What you don't want to do is to try operating a passthrough with no battery from a computer USB port. This is due to possible damage to the computer and not the PV.

We have had numerous computer repair vapers state on ECF never to charge your PV through your laptop. They agreed with you that it could very easily severely damage your computer but that regardless of the cables, etc, you shouldn't do it. And I stand by my statement that this guy and his partner are part of the problems in this country.
