I thought I lost this thread, thanks for keeping it going. :)

Apart from a pair of 18650's that never arrived (ordered at the beginning of the battery shipping problem), I'm having the first bad experience with shipping via Swedish post. I guess this happens when you order open blade knives, I don't have any batteries or liquid in the order and I had requested e-packet. Order placed 12/25, shipping notice ~2 weeks later due to Nemesis magnets that I don't even need. Package last seen in Singapore 1/13, AFAIK it goes to Sweden next before heading to the US. The only other time I used Swedish post was with VB, 20 days total including 5 days before it shipped. This is not good.
No change yet. The most recent order I placed shipped 1/20 via HK post, the tracking still doesn't work. An order from 2 weeks ago shipped via HK post arrived in 8 days, it's been 7 so far and nothing. I need these 2 orders, I can't wait 2 months for a refund. Kinda freakin' out a little...:(

And a RMA on

Friday, January 17, 2014 4:52:23 AM:Shipped
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1549100

I am HEAVILY eyeballing one of these, thinking of maybe cutting 5~mm off the firing post, re-soldering the battery spring and get it to be able to fit an 18650+kick
https://www.fasttech.com/product/1426300

Or one of these as I won an original "The Natural" and an AGA-T2 from a FB contest, very sleek and smooth, but a telescoping version is just neat as heck!
https://www.fasttech.com/product/1609000

[for some reason I am liking the pinky firing platform MUCH more than the bottom, set it on the desk and it leans over bottom firing platform]

Oh and I fixed my caravella to hold an 18650 w/ kick and the tank sit flush...once again..ULTRA crappy picture (I will try to get a better one asap!)
caravelafixed_zps0e6c86a7.jpg

This is the "trouble report ticket" I sent them
First off when it arrived the top cap 510 threads had a burr and none of my 510 connector atomizers would work, I decided to get a 7 x .5mm tap to fix it (I wasn't going to wait over a month again for the RMA)

Got the tap in, fixed the threads (cut my hand slightly in the process), they were far worse off than I thought the hole was tapered or something because the tap barely made it thru

Dropped my kick in the 18650 tube, put an eFest 18500 flattop in it, found the tank wouldn't screw all the way down nor would the end cap, the center contact pin is too long (and the body is too short)

I ground off approx 2-3 mm of the center pin, tapered it and re-assembled, it all fits good now, however I tried out the 18500 tube with the kick and a 18350 button top battery, I couldn't even screw the end cap on (the threads wouldn't engage)

The solution to all this is to have the manufacturer cut the body tubes 3-5mm longer then thread them...otherwise they are TOO SHORT!

I don't want an RMA on this...I am VERY displeased with this item even though I got it to work (only in 18650 mode with a kick a regular battery will not make contact)

I do like this MOD but the problems are IMMEDIATELY apparent, so if you can tell the manufacturer to cut the tubes just a little bit longer and all these problems will cease to exist and your Caravela mod will be PERFECT (well unless you want to get them to make it 21mm in diameter rather than 22, but that's a different gripe all together)

I just though I would let you know that the manufacturing defect of 3-5mm too short body tubes will quickly upset people

And thier response

Posted by STAFF:
Thanks for your useful suggestion.

We will feed back to our manufacture.

As for the defective 1540703, how about give you free replacement of top cap with 510 threads? Thanks.

Oh no you don't! Price of admission is posting a purchase! ;) :p

Ok ok, I'm subscribing with this post but to pay for it I'm posting these.

I'm a looong time member of xda-developers.com. Been modding phones and tablets for a few years now. I'm a Google fanboy. So I ordered this.

Just wish this was already here. Maybe then when i dropped my N5 tonight, the screen would still be intact.

Still works just fine, only has 2 cracks in it. Doesn't at all look like an iPhone when you drop it and Charlotte moved in and built her home.

I got all three colors of that case, black, blue and white.

I'll post this here, too.

I looked all around FT for battery cases. Found about 20 of them. But most all of them had a pressure latch on them with a hinge on one side with the only real difference being what color you wanted. The I found these.

I have some tupperware in the same style. And it truly is waterproof air tight sealed in. I picked up 3 of them. When I'm packing anything smaller than a 650, I figured I can just put a cotton ball or two to fill in the space so they're not jiggling about in the case.

You have to post a pic of the Raspberry Pi when you finish it. I want to see it in that case. I was eyeing those glasses pretty heavy. Please post a review of them when you get them. I have trouble seeing up close and those are very tempting. But I see lots of problems with them and not having a focus ring on the lenses, and the lenses not being fixed on a single plane so the eye line is the same for both sides.

Can you recommend a decent soldering iron from ft? I don't do many electronic projects, but twisting and taping looks horrible. I want a more professional finish for my stuff. I'm really wanting to do my own DNA mod, and I need something to solder on the board with.

TIA

I'm going to return my Ithaka as it's a little too finicky compared to the Russian clone. I want to get my first mech mod but there are so many... I like the Astro, Atom, Maraxus, private and launcher v2, any help picking one would be appreciated!

Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

I can only speak for the launcher v2, it's a great piece of kit. I got mine a couple of weeks ago, it just does everything perfectly, it's really solid, hefty and seems like it can outlast the pyramids, the threads are really smooth and so is the button action, hits very hard on the account of having 2 solid copper contacts, I love that the button it's slightly recessed (by design) so you don't need a locking ring. I'm just wondering how much better can the original really be, because this thing is a beast. Now I'm just waiting for someone to clone the biomech gen 2.0 :D

Wow, thanks. That one from hobbyking looks a ton nicer than the ones we had in school that I'm still in debt for. Bookmarked it so when it's not on back order I can get one. Thanks again.

Schnarph have you tried putting the tracking number into quantium? With HK post that always worked better for me.

With epacket nothing worked until it hit the states.
