Yes, yes, yes, my Taifun GS arrived here in the spring-like Middle East on Wednesday and I have been playing with it and comparing it to my beloved Kayfuns ever since. I haven't been here at ECF because of connection problems, but that seems to have been solved, too.
My impressions and experiences with it have been really good. It is a beautifully machined little guy, very well made, very clean industrial design. With a kayfun drip tip on it, it is VERY difficult to tell the difference in the quality of the draw - which is an enormous plus to my mind.
I find the taste is more pronounced and intense with the Kayfuns, but only slightly. I still prefer the Kayfuns for taste, but the GS is definitely up there at the top with them, though. No comparison with PTs, iclears or anything like that.
Building it is different from the Kayfuns, because of the way you need to thread wicks up into the liquid After studying the manual, I came up with a kind of hybrid silica build, where I did the coil and wicks, and then 2 separate pieces of silica to wick-lead the liquid down to the main wicks. Some people use mesh to do this, but since I don't like mesh, I'm not trying it. May try cotton, though. I've built it a couple of different ways, just to see if I could and what would happen. People are going to find it finicky to have to wick up through the very small holes, but I think if you use fairly thin silica or cotton, you won't have to change them when you change the coil. Put them in and leave them.
It is perfect for the VTR, in my not so humble opinion. It gives a great quality vape without adding extra weight. No gurgling, no leaking, no noise whatsoever. Very, very easy to refill. Definitely worth it.
I will admit that I've only used it with the VTR - that's what I got it for, and that is its new home. On anything else it might look a bit long and slightly top-heavy - with the drip tip, it is a bit longer than the Russian 91, and about as long as the 3.1.
So, all in all, there is a very happy little old lady over here!![]()

My 2 Sony vtc3 batts are in the country already. Was like an extra week if that. Pleasantly surprised.

Sold, Taifun GS ordered along with a black Innokin VV3 for work and the clear Kayfun parts.

Has anyone ever gotten a replacement or credit/refund for a lost package? Mine is missing, USPS can't find it and FastTech hasn't responded to my ticket yet.
UNFORTUNATELY, I paid with store credit, so I can't file a Paypal dispute.![]()
2 months??? argh... I've got some waiting to do i guess
thanks for the reply
Yes, 2 months does seem long, but they really do refund you if at the end of that time the package has still not surfaced. This happened to me during the Great Big October Shipping Confusion, and FT refunded me with no hassle whatsoever. Then a month later, the missing package showed up, everything intact, and so I refunded FT for their refund.
Once the carrier gets your package, FT simply cannot guarantee that the carrier will get it to you. Customs has been known to hold things up for ages, and accidents do happen. FT does try to make it right, though, and the two-month wait is required, I think, by most postal services.
Please let us know if they make for an easier build!

I wonder what happened if you didn't send back the refund of the refund?
In my case i would have spent these refund money on new stuff, and if the supposedly missing package showed up then i've to stand in guilt to them? (i mean as i've still gotta pay it, which is logical but still hard to do if you've spent those money on a new order)
Interesting, incase i get a refund if some package is getting lost, i will save those money just in case the package shows up...
Since FT had said that shipping batteries wasn't a problem anymore I bought 2. Shipped thru Malaysia I'm almost positive they were on the flight that disappeared recently.
