I don't know if you placed your order yet, but the cheaper ("version A") Heron styled atty from FT is better than the one you linked. Go for the 19 dollar one instead of the 20.

I love carto-tanks. But, I'm getting frustrated with the quality of the cartos.

So, on my 'saving money for' list, I have:
Probably in that order as I have money. Any recommendations appreciated.

Also, see a lot of people here who got the brass GP Paps clone, which is an awesome mod. Ordering the authentic springs makes it even more awesome. Glad I ordered extras though two got crushed in shipping

Got my FT GP Paps v2.5 clone in brass, but the design of this mech is not for anything below 1.0 ohm, or 0.5 ohm at the very least although that's not recommended by the authentic designers.

So I'm in the market for something that will hit hard (low vdrop) at around 0.2 ohm. Considering the Copper Peggy or a SMPL clone, thoughts? I kinda like how well simple the SMPL is. I also like the pegasus engravings, but it's kinda gaudy I admit and something more elegant may be better.

I hate dealing with USPS almost as much as I like dealing with Fasttech.
Great deals on good equipment.........................then USPS plays hide the package.

Not sure what this one is doing. First it went to New Jersey then to Dulles. Not it has left for Who knows where.

And Finally showing at my Local USPS office.
SAD - only 4 days from Fasttech shipping label creation to ISC NY. Then another 8 Days playing ring around the Rosey with USPS going places no package ever went before.

Why do people still keep calling them SlowTech? They are not at fault, Postal services are.

I don't know anything about the Pegasus, but I'll recommend the following SMPL all day.
$20.89 SMPL Style 18650 Mechanical Mod - copper + brass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Couldn't be more user-friendly. Was a bit mangled when I got it, copper sticking off a few threads, and probably a press-fit top cap that's visibly showing its seam. That appears to be atypical; most of the discussion participants got one that looked considerably nicer. However, even if the craftsmanship doesn't live up to what I'd hoped for, I really have no desire for any other mechs; it's absolutely perfect. Running it around 0.276 ohms currently, never any heat, nor misfires, and I do not miss messing with 510 pins one bit; pure plug and play with the SMPL. My FT paps button did heat up once or twice around 0.4 ohms, not at all fun. That said, I love the paps, but hate switching out atties on it.

I have a black SMPL and can confirm that the top cap is definitely press-fit. I knelt on it and it came apart at the seam. But just hammered it back in and works like new again. Agree, it's super easy to use, and otherwise built like a HEMI truck. I LOVE The size. It's exactly the same height with a '650 batt as my Vapelyfe copper with a '500 batt. Gonna have to get around to doing a little work on that switch though - it's a little too stiff and crunchy for my taste, but perfectly acceptable and nothing that can't easily be fixed. Also hear that the 1:1s have better switches - might have to get one of those, because the SMPL is one of my favorite everyday carries.

You know I have had a ton of orders from FT over the last 2 years and everything has come in fine, nothing broken. I even got a pkg opened and taped by customs in Chicago that left one whole end of the bag open. Everything was in there and that was a big surprise. I have just returned the purple aluminum vamo v5... it gave one puff and died. That was a first for me. Now the business in Miami is closed and mail is stuck at the PO so let's hope they pick up mail sometimes soon. Think I will get the smart-20 next in blue since everything I get in purple dies.

Yep, the size is incredible - I saw some posts by heiSINberg on the Hobo atty thread, with the hobo sitting atop his SMPL. The whole setup is scarcely bigger than a standard bic lighter, roughly as tall as a 30ml dripper bottle, and that's what drew me to it (plus the lack of a gaudy design). I was always intimidated by the big honking Vamo/Evic light sabers topped with Kayfuns, but this is a tiny little 18650 mech. No wasted space, nothing more than strictly necessary, my kind of mod. SMPL it is!

Heh, my uncle has an authentic SMPL in brass, but arced his batt since his atty doesn't have a pin that sticks out, so now he's scared of it . Offered to trade it for 30ml of juice hah, I think an authentic is in my future. And since my Paps is already brass, I don't have to get a bunch of copper atties.

I can confirm, the version A is better as far as actual fit is concerned. The B version has a bit better polish job, but the o-rings all require replacement to use it.

I also switched out my springs for authentics. Big improvement. I also switched out the buttons and tubes for authentic as well, and the alumabronze tube can probably handle low sub-ohms, as it's 93% copper/5% aluminum.

I just ordered the Dominus Fecit mod from FastTech. Been a while since I've been so excited to get a mod. It looks really good, and the fact that the Chinese decided to clone the Lorde upgrade and Hilt 18650 tube mod for it doesn't hurt. I plan to order the naval brass conversion kit for it from Dominus as well.

PLAN:

Good to see ya here. Do you have dimensions, or preferably SKU nos. for o-ring replacements for the vers. A? The two o-rings for the tank as well as the one on top the chimney and top cap snaps into are getting a bit frayed for me.

edit: Heck if FT has replacement rings for the snap on wicking cap I'd appreciate that too!

Hey guys question on shipping from FT. The last time I ordered from them it took like 45 days to get my package I had given up on it ever showing up. I tried again as I have been wanting a Orchid and they have the top fill caps. I ordered 4 days ago and I got a notice it shipped 2 days ago and today usps says they accepted it in china and its coming first class international. So have they fixed the long shipping delay's, does usps really have it and ill get it in a week or so. I think the last time I did not even get a usps notice until it hit LA and that was like 40 days in. If I would have known it was quicker now I would have done this sooner they have allot of stuff I want.

Batteries, knives, e-liquid and items that "ship in x days" will slow your order down like that. "Ships in x days" doesn't always mean it'll ship then. Sometimes after the x days, it'll go to "restocking," and I think it means another x days. But sometimes it's ready to ship way before the "x days," so don't shy away from those. In my case on my last order, there was a replacement part that they added in that was no longer available. I guess there was no system in place for catching those, and my order didn't go out until we nixed that item.

My stuff, when in stock and ready to ship, has been coming anywhere from 6 days to about 2 weeks. I usually just go with the default "USPS First Class," and I hardly ever track it before 2 weeks, since nothing ever shows up until a day or two before it gets here. So usually it's here before I even get a chance to track it. Same with Focal.

Word of warning though, with Chinese New Year coming up in mid-February, the mail system might get jammed up by retailers placing big orders, so it may drag down a little bit until after their holiday.
