True, though you could (probably) use it in a mech to prevent over-discharge. However, anyone willing to do that is probably the type of person who won't let their batteries go that far :)

I'm new to mechs and have no idea how to treat my batteries or tell when they need to be recharges (without using a meter). I've just placed an M16 on order; I guess I'd better learn before it gets here :)

If you are using unregulated batteries - I think most are, unless they say regulated... then when the taste isn't right - charge your batteries.

I don't get the whole mech thing other than they are pretty and you can get into it inexpensively unless you want serial numbered yada yada yada.
When I fish I want the newest top of the line boron or graphite rod I can lay hands on. Retail is like $600 - $700. I have a buddy that just plunked down over $2000 for a brand new hand made bamboo rod which is state of the art for 1940. He's happy, I'm happy, thats what counts.

Just started with a mech and you can tell after a couple days. More or less where your batt is and remember it doesn't hurt to charge before you hit bottom. (I think it is actually beneficial, but I'm still new to this) also I don't believe there is any regulated cells just protected or not

Mine's a cheapie clone. The attraction for me: better quality batteries. I'm less than two months into a pair of Vision Spinners, and they're already showing signs of shortened battery life. I'm going to use a mech at home to (hopefully) extend the lifespan, 'cause I really like them when I'm out and about. I'm also a DIY fan and wannabe woodworker, so I'm going to start messing around with my own mod & e-pipe designs.

Yeah, I kind of figured this, but I suppose I'll be extra careful for the first few weeks and check the batteries (often) to see how long they last. Thanks!

a mech is only good if used with a low resistance coil RDA or RBA, other than that is useless imo. but it really works well in the RDA, RBA case. im using a mech paired with a small RDA for about 4 months now and im very very happy with it

Looks like I'm taking a break from fasttech for a while. After 4 years of bs, I finally said enough is enough and walked away from my job (I think I may have been skipping and whistling too). I have supplies to get me through the next month or two, but alas, I'm sure the wife and kids will want to eat so no more shopping for me. I'm sure that this will be a good thing for everyone else in this thread. Now that I'm on a $0 budget, FT is sure to start bringing out all the really good stuff, because as usual the great things come when I can least afford them. Prepare yourselves.

I tried that stuff in a 30ml.......after only a few drags I felt really odd (as in 'sick' kind of odd), as if there was way too much nic in it or something.
It tasted ok, like a peach tobacco but I did not dare vape anymore of it.
I chucked it in the garbage straightaway.
Stick with the branded stuff.

Thanks for the good help and advice. No reason to not stop in from time to time to see how we are all making out.

Is it kickable?
If so, get a kick..that's what I did...I inadvertently vaped one of my 18350s down to 2.8v with my K100 (my first mech). I was using a fuse but it will not stop you from over - vaping the batt. I got the Smoktech Kick from Madvapes and put it in my K100 and now it stops me at 3.5v. What happens is that you just get no vapor at the cutoff and then you know to recharge...check it out

The Kick by Smok Tech

For 14.99 you can't beat it and my K100 still hits harder than all of my VV andVW' mods

Oh I'm not leaving, just gotta stop buying. Although, with 5 kids, I could probably talk one of them into not eating each night....
Maybe I can order the nemesis after all...
