Yes, I use unprotected NCR18650B in the Vamo. Just wondering if they'd work as well as the CGR in a mech.

i'm trying to find the discharge rate of the NCR and seems to be around 6A or lower. so not as powerful as the CGR. do they work on a mech? ofc but the CGR seems to be safer and ofc more powerful. the CGR are compared to the IMR in terms of performance and safety

Some people are using them on mechs without issue. I wouldn't want to push them much past 4 amps, as it's recommended to stay under 80% of the limit. I'm not really interested in using them on mechs, the high mAh batts tend to have a higher battery resistance causing a more noticable drop in the 4.2 to 4.0 volt range. Higher drain batts tend to have a better curve at the upper end, which is nice with mechs. Definately no sub-ohm vaping with those, but I wouldn't be as concerned with 1.2ohm coils and higher.

Try orbtronic... That guy does a great job on posting useful battery info.

Also the CHs were phased out by panasonic back in January. The predecessor is the PD.

This is good to know
I had just ordered my first mech to use with Aga T2 I had wanted to run coils from.8 to 1.1 ohm
And even though I am ordering efast 18500 for it
I had wondered if I can use my 18650 CGR pannies that I have for vamo for lager mod

Yeah I use the CGR pannies on 1ohm coils on mechs. They work well, but drain a little quicker on the top end when drawing more amps. I'm hoping the new Samsung INR18650-20R that I have on order have good run time on the upper end. Rated at 2000mAh and 20 amp limit I think. INR battery chemistry isn't considered quite as safe as IMR, but the high amp limit helps with safety.

Looks like I'm taking a break from fasttech for a while. After 4 years of bs, I finally said enough is enough and walked away from my job (I think I may have been skipping and whistling too). I have supplies to get me through the next month or two, but alas, I'm sure the wife and kids will want to eat so no more shopping for me. I'm sure that this will be a good thing for everyone else in this thread. Now that I'm on a $0 budget, FT is sure to start bringing out all the really good stuff, because as usual the great things come when I can least afford them. Prepare yourselves.

Wow, that's a bummer man. I know it probably feels liberating but yea at the same time you have having to go through that.
What do you do for a living anyway?

Oh I'm not leaving, just gotta stop buying. Although, with 5 kids, I could probably talk one of them into not eating each night....
Maybe I can order the nemesis after all...

Weekend sleep overs with trusted friends might be encouraged ... save lots of money that way.

HK Post : Delay In Outbound Air Mail Services (10 September 2013)

Delay In Outbound Air Mail Services

To safeguard aviation security, Hongkong Post does not accept the sending of air mail items (including Speedpost) that contain dangerous articles such as perfumery products, lighters and lithium batteries. Hence, all mail items entering the Air Mail Centre are subject to x-ray screening. Recently, there is an increasing number of air mail items detected to contain suspected dangerous articles, in particular, lithium batteries, which lengthens the screening process. In this connection, air mail registration service, iMail service and Bulk Air Mail service may be subject to delay. Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.

Where do you see this on the FT website? What does that mean exactly? I have 3 sets of batteries being held in HK at this moment. Will HK Post return the items to FT for reshipment?

Is it kickable?
If so, get a kick..that's what I did...I inadvertently vaped one of my 18350s down to 2.8v with my K100 (my first mech). I was using a fuse but it will not stop you from over - vaping the batt. I got the Smoktech Kick from Madvapes and put it in my K100 and now it stops me at 3.5v. What happens is that you just get no vapor at the cutoff and then you know to recharge...check it out

The Kick by Smok Tech

For 14.99 you can't beat it and my K100 still hits harder than all of my VV andVW' mods

I've been thinking about adding one, though I may have to step down to 18500 batteries to make room for it. Does it act like a fuse as well? It doesn't look that way judging from the description. I'm already planning on adding a vapesafe fuse since I'm not using protected batteries.

Only use IMRs with this kick.
If it is truly a clone, then it should have short circuit protection... it is a bit confusing because all of the descriptions that I have seen do not list short circuit protection anywhere... it is worth investigating.
I have fuses but am not using one with my K100...however, there is a user that has a bunch of kicks (think he has all three Evolv/Sigelei and Smoktech) and hopefully he will chime in.
I am a bit surprised that Smoktech didn't list it in their generic description that the vendors put up when they list an item o_O
I know the Evolv has short circuit protection and the Sig and Smok kick are supposed to be clones of this.....
Disclaimer: I am new to mechs too, still learning about the kicks and all the other attendant stuff too :)

I may be wrong (if so somebody please tell me) but I would think that if you wanted to use the kick and the fuse together you probably could?

The 18350s I bought are IMRs, but the 650s are not, hence my desire for a fuse. Maybe those don't go together... I'll have to research a bit more. If I have a fuse, is there a reason I shouldn't use a non-IMR or an unprotected battery? (Valid question there, not a snarky "Don't tell me what to do" tantrum :) )

Anyhow, there's no reason I know of that a kick can't be used with a fuse, but who knows. ePipeMods.com offers "The Crown" (similar to the kick) in conjunction with a Vapesafe resettable fuse, so I'd bet it will work. However, it's a good point, yet another I need to research...

Thanks for your input!

I promise not to be snarky, lol...it's all good, we are all learning :) (lawd knows I am)
All I have ever used was IMRs and the Panny hybrid IMR, so I can't speak about any other type/chemistry of battery.
IMRs are unprotected because they have a safer chemistry than your garden variety Li-ion batt.

WoW! Got a notification that my driptips AND TVS have shipped! I ordered my driptips on the 3rd but had cancelled the Bolt clone that was in that order and that may have delayed the driptips.
I just ordered the TVS yesterday and thought I would have to wait an additional 4 days before it shipped.

I just recently got the Evolv Kick. The version one was on sale for $25 since V2 came out. It has discharge protection, short protection, and low resistance protection. No idea if the clones have that, someone should be able to chime in on that.

The site says to use only AW IMRs with the Kick, but I use any IMRs which is fine. One thing to mention about the Kick, is it will drain batteries noticably faster than without one.
