So I had my new M16 clone from FT sitting on my desk and it randomly just popped up and fell over. I've only used it once or twice. I looked at it and this is what happened..

The firing pin had mystically unscrewed from the firing button post. Red flags went off immediately. I screwed the pin back on but found out that when it's screwed on tight, the button doesn't function at ALL. Thus, you have to have it partially screwed on in order to be able to press the button.

So I then began to think..what if this happened in a pocket or anywhere really, would it fire with just the pin bouncing around in there? I threw a battery in it and a rda on it to test. And of course if I wobbled it ( turned it on it's side, upside down, bounced it etc.) it would fire; sometimes constantly. I investigated a little further to determine what may have helped it come unscrewed. As I turned the locking nut to lock it..it catches the firing button; unscrewing it ever so slightly each time.

-"Fixed" but the firing pin cannot be screwed on tightly or the button will not function.

Just a heads up and I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue? Maybe some thread lock to secure it or it may just make it to the garbage :)

It looks like that's deep enough to put something in the bottom and then screw in the button. The end of the shaft would hit the material and tighten up, making the whole thing a little longer. You probably only need a mm or so. It wouldn't even have to be conductive...cut out a little circle of plastic or grommet or something if you can't find anything else. Some cotton from a qtip or something. You might have to experiment a little to have the 'throw' on the button correct.

Not a bad idea at all. I'll go with it and see what I come up with :) I just wanted to put this out there so people are aware :)

Thanks!

Are you sure something wasn't binding? The switch sits near flush in the unlocked position. Yours, in pic 2 looks like it is way to far out.

Holding Pin in position and switch (bottom) up Place spring over shaft protrusion. Place switch into protrusion and thread into contact pin. Should thread fully tight and still have plenty of throw.
If this is not the case, File the Pin Cap to shorten attachment depth.

every CE4 I got from FT went in the trash.
All they do is run dry, I can't get them to wick hardly at all. I finally just settled on iclear 16's and called it good. The only down side is the insane amount of liquid I go through now... but the flavor and warmth are just unmatched.

Try pulling out the silicone boot from inside and take a razor blade and trim back the end that covers where the wick exits and goes down into the tank. It's about a 1/16". Too much and it will leak down to the batt contact. I had these with the same problem, now they're fine.

Still sitting in the September 6th black hole..........

Mine, too. $128 tied up w/ no recourse right now.
CS at FT just says please wait. I do understand that they are not at fault here and I am sure this is a drag for them. I just wish I had either my vape bits or my $$.
I received a smaller order that was placed after the above and placed another fully expecting to wait a long time due to the holiday. So I am not feeling any animosity toward FT, just feeling impatient and frustrated. I think there is a big pile just sitting somewhere and ours is in it.
Sigh

that's exactly how I feel,,,,sigh. It's not FT's fault, but weren't they aware of the regulations that required batteries to be sent via the slow boat from China BEFORE all this carp happened????

it seems to me, that they were trying to get away with something,,,,,,,,,,but to be fair, we all loved that they were, and certainly bought the batteries,,,,,,

sigh,,,I just want my stuff

My bike lights I ordered on the 9th should be delivered today, not complaining about the wait, got 6 bike lights for $13.30, be lucky to get 2 for that price even at walmart.

Now the wait is on to see how long the iclear 16's heads take to get here, got plenty already, but ordered early knowing I will have a wait to get them, just got to plan ahead more now a days :)

the whole reason for the back up is that the Chinese Govt decided to crack down on some laws that were already in existence that SHAPED batteries (like the 18650s and 18350s, etc) can not be sent airmail,,,,,,
so they have been Xraying the packages and that caused the back up,,,

those batteries are going to have to be sent some other way now,,,,,slow boat from China is it,,,,,

since I ordered a vamo kit with batteries on the 29th of August, I am pretty sure mine sits on the slow boat from China,,,,,,,,,
