I can tell you from recent personal experience that drilling holes in SS is a MASSIVE PITA. I just burnt out 2 drill bits trying to drill out my Helio clone yesterday. At one point the thing got so hot that the drill bit snapped off and actually welded itself into the hole I was trying to bore out. Crazy.

Several things you need to know: Make sure you are using hard bits, cheap ones wont do it (this means avoid harbor freight and cheap home depot bits). Also, the bit must be sharp and you must keep it wet with lubricant... even motor oil is acceptable. And the most common mistake people make is overspeed. You have to use lighter pressure and a low speed setting on the drill. Stop occasionally to allow it to cool.

Ya know I am wondering for all those devices that need 2x AA if you couldn't use a single placeholder (which is more or less a AA sized piece of wire [AA spacer/dummy battery]) and a single 14500

I got one of those AA ohm meters, put more or less one of the above (DIY pencil wrapped in aluminum foil) and a 14500 in it, and it worked like a charm

It would be nice if they listed the spec resistance and amp limit on them... or allowed you to put bus fuses in them to make them whatever you wanted

I was hoping to have a good first experience with fasttech :(

Give it some time. I've gotten eight of my ten packages in 1 1/2-3 weeks, the ones I have coming in now are taking longer. Yes, it can be annoying, but you should expect to possibly need to wait or run into some sort of trouble with the shipping (contrary to most other companies/shops in the business you'll actually have some sort of product guarantee). Right now I'm most annoyed for not having a working tracking no for my package from Hong Kong post as one of the joys is to follow your shipment as it's adventuring around the world

Unfortunately if it got sent to HKP BEFORE they started directing around, the pakcage will be xrayed and kicked back (this can take up to 15 days), then re-shipped around HKP

You will more than likely have to wait 30 days and if no movement is seen then open a ticket so don't panic just know your order probably got dropped in that big black hole of HKP...give it some time...sux big time

you are exactly right i checked on it tonight and it was once again returned back to fast tech.so i opened a ticket and told them just give me a refund,so i will see how that goes, now i either wait awhile before i order again or just forget the whole thing.i had high hopes for fast tech guess i am just pissy for the time being.

I would rather take a 50/50 shot on free shipping with a long wait than pay the premium, I have 4 Panasonics somewhere in HKP system, hopefully they get through.

I just got word that my order of 2 Vamo V3's was returned by HKP due to failed X-ray inspection. This was just the tubes , no batteries at all.

I just ordered something last night and I'm wondering how long Singapore Post usually takes compared to how long HKP used to take (as in back in June)? I went back a few pages and didn't see it mentioned.

ETA - Is there issues with tracking Singapore?

SingPost tracking is a nightmare, my last parcel arrived at my door the same day tracking moved from acceptance to shipped overseas

Hey guys,

Howz the services of the Swiss post, used by fasttech. I ordered a few batteries and few juices and a stack of magnet on 1 Nov. Only by 8 there was any update that said " departure from border point of origin country". Since then there is no update. The destination is India and I don't know what's the problem. Anyone have a similar experience.

Thanks
LF

FT is best for things where timing isn't an issue, I buy Liquids and heads with plenty of time before I need them and then forget about it, eventually I receive my cheap supplies and I save money. If I actually needed something in a couple of weeks I would still order from FT but also buy a small amount locally to last me until it arrives.

For Mods and Atties I don't "need" I have to balance my patience with the available savings, I usually end up deciding to save the money and waiting. I have a VTR that should arrive any day now and a Kayfun clone that won't be here for a few weeks.

I think it is still a bit new to see how Swiss Post works.

I'm curious about your reaction to the VTR. Don't forget to tell us all about it when it arrives. Thanks!

Same experience here. I'm keeping the ticket open and responding immediately. Keep the pressure on. It is China and they are commerce driven. We complain to them they complain to the mail service Etc. Etc. I have learned never to close a ticket because the longer it is open the more likely they will respond to it. Lydia could have said "I have put a search request on your package" but she didn't even bother with that, not that would do any good but again with the pressure. We shall see. It is what it is. Some times it's craps and some times it's snake eyes.

I found the wording in this line from Lydia to be interesting : "recently the postal union has launched a wave of scrutiny which covers all major postal airmail shippers in Asia." I wonder if "union" means labor union like it does here in the states or if it is a translation thing and union means more like department or branch. I wonder if it is a labor type dispute? Not important or even relevant to our plight but I am curious. Being of the liberal bent, I would feel better in some way if the wait was being caused by the workers trying to get better conditions. But, it's probably just about money like always.

Fasttech just notified me that the package was returned to them and they were giving me a store credit.
The order was for an iTaste VV, so it's not just removable battery items HK is rejecting, its products that have a fixed battery too.
Over three weeks and now all I have is a store credit :(

Just wanted to share(rub in) a couple of FTuns I received this week :D

View attachment 273384

I hate you(but i have a r91, so there's that, i think... :p), my kayFTun is "packaging"

On another note, Swiss Post news!! :p My package "departed origin country" on the 2nd, just checked and it was visiting Dietzenbach in Germany last night and has departed the same city earlier today. It seems Swiss Post packages travel quite a bit and pretty slow around the world.

I placed my order on Oct 15 2 ego c-twist, 3 chargers, 4 14500 batterys. I saw it as pending origin preparing for shipment then today I got the email that hk post rejucted my package xray and returned to FT. FT issued a full refund to my paypal account. I'm thinking I will try another shipping method. :-(
