I put a kanger evod head in my kamry protank from fasttech and it fixed the problem with the air flow. The kanger head sits a tiny bit lower in the stem and this created a small space and fixed the air flow issue. It also vapes alot better. The original head started leaking after a few days and I noticed that the plastic grommet was swollen.
Ref was correct,the ones marked GLASS are not glass, its a plastic. I thought it was glass,its thick plastic and to tap on it you think it's glass. But it you scratch it you can tell that it's plasic

My Kanger Protank from FastTech is too airy for my taste. Any way to slightly restrict air flow?
Everyone thinks it's those slots in the bottom piece, but it's not. Check out the threads, there are 3 small holes around the bottom of the tank. You can put whatever you like around them or in them to block some of the airflow. Some plumbers tape wrapped around the threads is unsightly, but you can then punch out 2 of the three holes.
I tried the MT3 trick of sticking a cocktail stick in them and breaking it off, but unless you get it just right, the stick interferes with the threading.
Best way might be a tiny piece of clear tape above the threads but low enough to cover the holes. I thought about trying hot glue, but I am scared to vape it.
EDIT - Forgot to add, an EVOD head tightens the draw a little too.
Yes that works too on an ego type battery, nice mention. On an APV it won't fit.
These Sony batteries look great for sub-ohm vaping. The 30A discharge makes them comparable to MNKE batteries.

I'm using the VAMO v3. With its own beauty cone. No help there. I have noticed that even with the base firmly screwed in, there is still a gap of perhaps a millimeter (ok, maybe a half millimeter). Is that normal?
RE: aglet's advice on blocking the holes. Dayum, they're small and very close to the threading. It may well be time for me to admit to myself that I made a poor purchase decision. But, I thank you for your DIY advice. I did ask.

I paid $20 for my protank and it now I use it exclusively on my spinners with the beauty ring. Even after everything I have tried, I just like my vivi novas better. Maybe it's time to move it on on the classys.
There are airflow controllers Tank Airflow Controller that some have had success with. You might want to try - or you might want to not throw any more money at the issue and buy an EVOD instead.

I use an o ring to control my Protank....if you have one lying around just slide it over the top and down to the threads to block the air holes so it is sitting just above where the tank would attach to the beauty ring area. If no o ring try an elastic band, or some tape over the holes not attractive but it works.
I love using the vivi novas so I'm reading this with interest. I was going to try a Protank - maybe I'll wait and get an AMP tank. Those are a bit pricey though.
This seems to come down to the airiness of draw that a person is used to?
It's a nice looking tank if you can just get the airflow right. Some have had to remove the flavor wicks perhaps rebuild it with mesh. Others (like me) have tried fiddling with it to get the airflow just right and still not been entirely happy with it (although Yves just mentioned an o ring trick that I have yet to try) Some, again, like me, are not happy with the metal drip tip that is not replaceable (I have even put a modified condom tip I got with the extra heads from my vivi nova) and are still not happy. Maybe I'll get there with it... but it's an awful lot of messing around for a $20 clearo.

So basically that is a tank-feeding 510 atomizer right? So it's like the thing we have been asking for for all this time - a wickless / batting free clearo / tank - or am I off-base?
AMP Tank - Avid Vaper Wow, so not only is it a US$120 tank, they are using an HH357 atty in there as well. That's a nice looking tank, but wow, that is a pricey piece of equipment.
Give it a few weeks, fasttech will have a clone.
I have seen it for less than that - I think it was about $80. But yeah - thats what I meant by a bit pricey. I'd really like to try it. I have a bottom feeder mod and the taste from that using an atty on a fresh battery is continuously awesome. The AMP tank would be ideal on a vw/vv mod.
Well - we'll see if they clone it. From what I've been told the AMP is a pretty well made tank.
Erm... guess we better get back to regular programming.

I agree that the Protank is not for everyone but after I have re wicked with cotton and using my o ring trick its the best tank I own to date. I will be very happy, if they ever make one that I can use my own drip tip on, I think the ease of filling and being able to change the head without emptying the tank are the plus points for it to date. Cotton wicks certainly improve the flavor but I find the stock heads are not too bad at all. Think it depends on if you are willing to fiddle around with this to get it to work. Once you get it going right it's amazing.
