The Post Says consisting of ONLY e-liquid and/or batteries

So, if you have a combination order, chances are it may well be passed through.

I'm assuming that my two orders that say: "Despatched to overseas (Country code: US)" have already made it through the gauntlet. Both of those orders contained batteries (no e-Liquid) along with other stuff.

Does the status "Despatched to overseas (Country code: US)" mean it's left Asia?

Sounds like it ... this is just a single mech mod by itself and it's still stuck:

Destination - United States of America

The item (LK035869888HK) is being processed for departure from Hong Kong as of 6-Sep-2013.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

2 weeks after ordering (it took six days to even be packaged),,,,,,,

my Vamo is still sitting in Hong Kong for the PAST SIX DAYS!!!

like what the heck? I'm just hoping the international tracking number is wrong about that,,,,

but wouldn't it have been scanned when it got to San Fran, if nothing else?

sigh.

I ordered an SVD kit with batteries and charger over the weekend and they shipped out using Singapore Post this past Monday. I'm really excited to try something different (I have only ever used an eGo C Twist). Fully expecting it to take at least two weeks to come in, but I've received stuff from Asia in 5 business days before via standard air mail, so I won't be too surprised if it comes in tomorrow (I'll be really happy, though).

The USPS won't answer their phone in San Fran, even when it's my local post office calling them. My package has said "Depart USPS Sort Facility" since August 26th.

Of course it is still in Hong Kong. Have you been reading all the warning posts about the clampdown by Hong Kong Post on all shipments going through its facilities? There have been half a dozen posts here at least warning us all about the much increased waiting time for shipments to be x-rayed. Not just yours. Not just FT's. Everybody's. Not just in Hong Kong but all over Asian transport hubs.

So basically, what we can do is wait patiently, hope that our packages do not get sent back to FT because of "illicit" contents, wait patiently again and hope that the security measures are relaxed in the near future.

There is simply no point getting upset at waiting times in the security system. :vapor:

There is an updated FT staff posting here I'll ctrl-v it here for the chronically lazy

The postal union has launched a wave of scrutiny yesterday which covers all major postal airmail shippers in Asia.

FastTech confirms that all battery/e-liquid airmail packages are being affected at this time. This includes HKP/USPS, and Singapore Post.

Here is what's happening:

1. Packages with primarily e-liquid and/or batteries in them are now more likely to get caught and get returned to us. We'll refund in those cases.

2. Packages *not* containing e-liquids/batteries will ship normally via SG post at regular speed. However those shipped via HK post will get delayed by 5 to 7 days (as we're told) as they queue up for the new mandatory x-ray scans.

If you have previously requested us to put you on Hong Kong Post only list, you may want to consider getting off that list to avoid the added wait time at Hong Kong Post.

Again, until this loosens, there is a higher chance for packages consisting of only e-liquid and/or batteries to be returned to us by shipping carriers. When they are returned, we will fully refund customers and cancel their affected orders.

I asked a FT staff about 'mixed packages that are not primarily batts/juice but do include them and they said

Depending on the ratio of battery/e-liquid over other stuffs, we're expecting the majority of mixed orders to get through.

So its really a question of "do you feel lucky?". My thoughts are:

1. Specify non HKpost option if possible - SG post or premium carriers
2. If you need an item guaranteed to come quickly you may need to look for a supplier closer to home
3. I am 100% confident FT will refund orders that get sent back so nobody will be losing money.
4. This x-ray crap won't last long - its just bureaucrats f-ing with suppliers of batteries & 'perfumes' (which includes e-juice). Crackdowns never last too long in Asia. If you can wait a few weeks and see what the score is then do so.
5. 'Cos its free shipping you can always split your orders up [if you have 54 items in your cart like me] and some will probably get through.
6. Mixed stuff will probably get through fine
7. Its not the end of the world as we know it

What is or is not allowed in the US is completely irrelevant. You have placed an order with a company in China, until your parcel reaches the US your order obeys the rules in that country.

We are Americans. We can't be expected to play by anyones rules but our own and even then only when we feel like it.

The rest of us living in Outer America don't seem to get why that is the case.

And you never will...

Back on topic - The "only battery and eliquids" statement is bunk. I've had an SVD sitting in Hong Kong since 9/03 and at this point i doubt i'll ever see it. That, combined with the defective IGO-L i just got from them in the mail just about seals the deal that i won't be purchasing from fasttech again. I'll just be searching from the best deal from U.S. suppliers from here on out.

I made on order on 9/3, it shipped 9/5, it arrived at my door 9/10. (it was an itaste v3 & 60 ml juice)

Not to say that your situation is not frustrating - I'm sure I would feel the same. Just that stuff was being shipped at that point. Perhaps or different locations affect it?

My situation is VERY frustrating. I can deal with a 10 day wait...probably even longer, but to wait that long only to receive a defective part is unacceptable. Let alone the fact that one of the items i ordered (at the same time on 8/26 and split up for some stupid reason) hasn't even crossed the ocean, and it took three days for someone to reply to my ticket only to say "well it does look like it is moving, would you mind giving it another week?" Really? Really?? Rant ovah...

What the FT people were trying to tell you nicely is that your package is in the enormous waiting pile at HK security waiting its turn to be xrayed and authorized. Imagine a mountain of packages from every single supplier shipping through HK and your innocent little package somewhere in the middle of it, waiting patiently for its turn.

:) Frustrating, yes. FT's fault, no. Bad luck, definitely.

Well we'll see how this tests out...
Just placed an order with 54 items in it, destination USA.
40 of them are squeeze bottles, a couple knives, bunch of clearos, misc items with 6 Ego batteries and 6x30ml bottles of juice.
Let's see if this makes it through or not...
Unfortunately, a lot of the items are not in stock with ship date listed on the 18th and 19th.
this one is going to be a 4 week deal most likely... if it even makes it through exports.
