I had to take a dremel with a cutoff wheel and cut slots in the cartos.... the phil method: A PBusardo Tutorial - How I slot my cartos!.wmv - YouTube

You may need to make them larger or smaller depending on your vg ratios. Also make sure you use a really small detail file, sandpaper or something to make sure you clean up the sharp edges on you new slots so they don't cut the o-rings when inserting or removing them from the tank. It works. I'm a chain-vaper and caro's weren't working for me until I started doing this.
I tried cutting the slots vertically too instead of horizontal like in the video and it worked great.. EXCEPT when you slide the carto down to refill the tank, it gives the juice an open drain to leak out past the o-ring so that didn't work out so well... DOA!

edit: Oh yea... almost forgot. After you open up the holes you MUST have the top screw in the hole all the time when using to keep the vacuum/pressure equal in the tank. If you take that screw out, it will let open air into the tank and it will be pretty much like having a hole in your tank, it will simply drain all the juice through the carto and out the bottom of the 510 into your mod. Don't lose the screw and also don't try to fill through that hole with a syringe. That will also cause pressure to build while you are filling and all that pressure goes to the same place.. down the 510 into your mod.

Ok, drained the tank, added 1 slot in addition to the two punched holes that I had made, and it seems to be feeding now. (can see small bubbles during a dry pull, which is what I was looking for) Still a mystery on the darker color I see through the holes / slot, almost like there's a thin layer of something that wraps the white stuff you see when you look in the top.

Did you do both holes? I tapped up one of the boges with some white duct tape and enjoyed the first 10 or so puffs. I must suck the liquid out.. I think I need more wicking in mine. I absolutely love the look on top of the svd.

I do however fill from the screw hole. Just need a needle bottle that will allow air to escape from the hole while filling.

yes, I cut both sides. I also have to take dead draws every once in a while to keep it saturated. Careful though, too much and flooding occurs. You have to learn the way of the cartomizer but once you get a good feel for it and learn how to coerce it properly, it's a nice system.
Filling with the needle will get you in trouble though, it looks like it will work, but the air can't escape fast enough and you will build pressure in the tank... and I'm talking it takes VERY little pressure to flood it all out.

It's not the end of the world, but you have the slots too high. They need to be as close to the bottom of the tank as possible. This will still work but will stop wicking the juice in when the juice gets below that level.
Also, you want to cut the slot ON the hole, not make another slot. Once the juice gets below that slot now, it will start drawing in air from the slot instead of the hole below it that is still under the juice. It's ok to make additional holes, just keep them all at the same height if possible so that doesn't happen and things will work much better on a low tank.

Looks like my shipment got sent back because of the batts.:(

Sorry about the wait.

To safeguard aviation security, Hongkong Post does not accept the sending of air mail items (including Speedpost) that contain dangerous articles such as perfumery products, lighters and lithium batteries. Hence, all mail items entering the Air Mail Centre are subject to x-ray screening. Recently, there is an increasing number of air mail items detected to contain suspected dangerous articles, in particular, lithium batteries, which lengthens the screening process. In this connection, air mail registration service, iMail service and Bulk Air Mail service may be subject to delay. Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.

Packages with primarily batteries in them are now more likely to get caught and get returned to us. We'll refund in those cases.

If you have previously requested us to put you on Hong Kong Post only list, you may want to consider getting off that list to avoid the added wait time at Hong Kong Post.

Again, until this loosens, there is a higher chance for packages consisting of only batteries to be returned to us by shipping carriers. When they are returned, we will fully refund customers and cancel their affected orders.

We'll monitor and update as this situation develops.

We apologize for this and thank you for your understanding

Yeah, the only reason I went higher with the slot than the first hole, was because of what I saw when I looked INTO the hole ... something that almost looks like steel wool, instead of the white filler material I was expecting to see (and what I see from the top) ... so I thought I somehow drilled TOO low.

Hey, if anyone is trying (unsuccessfully) to track Singapore Post packages, Geek mentioned this "alternative" site that seems to provide much better tracking info:

Track Shipment(s)

Apparently the URL is specific to packages shipped from Fasttech.

I shipped a few test packages via SP to see if it's any faster at "cutting the x-ray line"

Now you left me worried. I used this service to track an order I made at timeeast, and the receiver name was a guy in Singapore. I didn't bother, because I thought he was simply a representative. But after reading your post, I tried again the tracking numbers of 2 orders I made at FT last week to test the waters, and MY name is showing up in the results as the receiver. I wonder if timeeast made a mistake.

I am just about to throw in the towel and demand a refund. I know some people have had it worse than me, but, frankly, maybe they should have demanded a refund as well.
I understand that the problems with the post is not FT's fault. However, it is FT's problem. In my case, USPS still read "Acceptance" from 10/25. HKP says that the item was "Returned to Sender on 10/5". I've placed a ticket with FT asking if they had received my order back on 10/6. I got the same canned response we've seen pasted all over this thread. I asked them again early yesterday and have not heard back from them.
I think what kills me the most is the orders placed after mine was in "acceptance" that have been delivered while mine, and many orders even older than mine are still in HK somewhere. Have the Chinese not mastered the art of FIFO (First In First Out)?

I think I'm about done. I could have ordered the same stuff from US based vendors, sent it back, ordered it again, and repeated the entire cycle again and STILL be vaping on an SVD right now!

Speaking of, where can I get an SVD stateside, cheap, with decent batteries and charger?

generally, I'm a patient person,,,,,,,,but my order has been sitting in HK since September 6. Absolutely no movement.

They asked me to be patient another week, and I'm going to,,,,,,,but after that, I am nicely going to ask for a refund.

I can't help but think if they'd just followed the rules and shipped them by boat, none of this would be happening,,,,,,

I'm not blaming them completely,,,,,,let's face it, we all wanted cheap batteries quickly. Myself included,,,,,,,

but it's a lesson learned.

I am a glutton for punishment. I had a store credit so I ordered a iTaste V3. It's out of stock (7days) and HK isn't shipping batteries if they ship at all. I don't need a device right now so, we shall see ;) Besides, I'm feeling lucky!
I really hate it but MINE departed SF today coming to FL, NOT REALLY, Sorry but I beat ya to it :p

I got the same canned reply to my ticket on mine that has been in HP Post since 10th, of SEPTEMBER, BUT I have gotten my second order, ALL BATTERIES, and my 4th order is an iTaste VV V3.0 that has passed SF coming to FL, SO WHERE IS MY 1st order that is just has an EGO EVOD kit and a lot of parts, STUCK IN THE BLACK HOLE... :( My 5th & 6th orders I made sure had NO Juice or Batteries, No Reason to delay them.

Sigh... Wish I had seen this thread before I ordered a starter kit and three juices. Now I have to wonder if I'm going to get mine at all, let alone by the 24th when I was hoping to have it by. Did I dodge the bullet by selecting USPS first class w/ DC as a shipping option? Sorry to have to ask, but this is my first order with them

I'm starting to think I should have ordered locally and got it in hand instead of wondering when/if I was gonna get it at all. :(

You are also a newer vaper. Gear arriving on time is probably a bit more critical to you than to one of us pack rats that has had time to build quite the stash. I can wait however long it takes because NOTHING is critical to my vaping success anymore that can be got from fasttech.

My name shows up as the receiver on that site too, I think it's supposed to. The important thing is at least they acknowledge HAVING the packages, which Singapore Post's site does not. Again the link I posted is ONLY for Singapore, not Hong Kong Post.

Well...this is the problem with ordering a product from 1/2 way around the world...if it's mission critical...might want to pay the extra to get it locally...if not...order it and wait

It will get there...just might not be in the time frame you want it to get to you

Ask me how I know ;)
