All this craziness with shipping is totally unnecessary. I can bet FT is pulling in big dollars and should have more than enough to figure out work arounds. My sister and I are both in logistics and both deal with international shipping. There are better ways to get things around.

If you mean revenue, not profit, you're probably correct. They're the low price provider of choice (or were), and that involves having both low margins and good efficiency. With all the resources they're using to try to straighten out all this shipping brouhaha, I'd bet they're losing money right now (or would be if they were doing more refunds for non-deliveries). Sell at a loss, and make it up on volume?

Do you ship to thousands of overseas addresses per week without passing any shipping costs on to the buyers, like fasttech does?

Don't forget there's no sales tax and I have yet to see something on their site that didn't have free shipping with it as well. I think what they're making in profits is being eaten up by having to reship orders that are being lost in space over and over again. Being in the retail industry, I'll be the first to say, sometimes you win...sometimes you get laid on your @$$ on a single transaction! I am sure they are losing business by the minute with people getting mad at shipping times and cancelling orders and going somewhere else. Not to mention someone tells their friend this company sucks, and that friend tells two more people, and the list goes on. There's got to be lots more business that FT is losing and I am sure they're doing everything they can to make that up!

That does not seem like a realistic expectation to me. Something delivered in the US only 5 days after leaving China would be the rare exception rather than the rule. Bear in mind that the postage rates paid by fasttech do not qualify incoming shipments for treatment as 1st Class mail by the USPS.

It's very possible. It'll probably arrive in SF tomorrow, depart Tuesday and be in my mailbox by the end of the week. Maybe Monday if it gets held up. Usually once it leaves SF it'll take 4 or 5 days for it to be delivered. This is my 10th or 11th order from them and have the times pretty well nailed down (SF to home).

If I'm misunderstanding what you're saying I apologize, I'm frickin' tired. :) Damn Dst.

Ends up it shipped out yesterday instead of today. Acceptance on the 31st, left HK on the 3rd and left SF on the 4th. Last months order left HK on 10/3 and was delivered on 10/7.

For reference.

Well, looks like those of us that had Kayfuns that were supposed to ship today were lied too... Shocking.

I'm not sure I'd use the words "lied to". My VTR was to ship today, and it is "restocking". I don't think I was "lied to", I just think that the stock of VTRs they were expecting, and Kayfuns too probably, didn't get delivered by the manufacturer to their supplier then to them. Something happened in the supply chain that FT didn't expect, and that all ends rebounding on us.

The "will ship in " number of business days, like the ETAs on our orders, are estimates, and I would imagine that they are FT's best guesses given their suppliers' promises.

This being said, am I like a little kid who wants her VTR shipped NOW NOW NOW? Yeah, I am. But the rational, adult, non-shiny-loving part of my brain says that sh** happens.

Many do not get such prompt delivery by the USPS once the package is in SF. I'm glad I'm wrong in your case! Just trying to keep anyone from being worried when the USPS takes longer.

I guess it does help living somewhat close Chicago. I'd imagine it taking a couple days longer if the buyer is in a rural area. But the overall consensus is that one it leaves SF that it'll be delivered within a week.

I ordered a VTR on November first. I want it NOW, so I feel ya ;)

The $$$$ savings are substantial, so even though I want it NOW (and have checked every day to to find that it's really gonna be a while), if I get it by the end of the month, I'll be very happy.

YMMV

My order left HK on the 1st. USPS tracking just started a few hours ago and it's in NJ which is odd because I'm in Missouri and someone earlier said theirs went through SF for Illinois, which is between Mo & NJ. I'm curious to see if my other order running a day behind takes the same route. Also, it's listed as Registered mail. Wonder why they did that?

My feelings exactly. I can wait, and I'm going to wait.

One of the things that all this shipping mess has made ---and I haven't even been a direct victim of it in any of my purchases, with one possible exception--- is that we're getting into a kind of automatic complaining mode. I include myself. The complaining thing is contagious.

Heavens, I can't be the only one who remembers the era of no-tracking, no-automatic-order updates, no ETAs? When there was no way of ordering directly from China if you weren't some kind of major buyer in import-export? When stuff would be stuck for weeks in Customs....

Sure, it is incredibly cool to see "packaging" or "item despatched to destination country" and especially getting the delivery notice. It is a great feeling, but somehow I think we have to remember that stuff happens at a more macro-level and our things will get to us when they get to us...

I'll be the only little old lady on the block with one...:)

Isn't the MVP great? Mine go outside with me, to the office...on walks...The VTR is likely to have to stay at home where nobody will think it's strange-looking.

Sigh... Yeah, I know. A lie denotes intention, but in this case it's just basic incompetence.

The big problem is the crap just keeps piling up with FT. It's hard to keep accepting that stuff happens and trust that they'll get back on track when it's one thing after another.

SF is where they usually land, I have read a couple times that orders have landed in NJ as well. No worries.

Have to agree with you Maggie. I remember ordering from the back page of magazine and mailing my check in just hoping to get something back in a month or two.

Ordered oct 16th, shipped oct 28th, went through HK and left there on the 3rd. Vamo v5 SS, 2 panny batts and a night core charger. It's already passed through San Fran too. So I guess not everyone has problems shipping batts from them. Hopefully this is a good sign for everyone.

I ordered the same items plus a protank clone and a few miscellaneous items. I split mine into three orders.

The Vamo ordered 10-16, shipped 10-23, tracking currently showing processed through Hong Kong Sort Facility 11-3.
The bats and adapters ordered 10-21, shipped 10-22, tracking currently showing acceptance 10-24.
The charger and protank ordered 10-24, shipped 10-25, currently showing processed through sort facility SF, CA 11-5. This has changed from when last checked early this morning and I expect the vamo order to follow suite sometime today.

I ordered more bats from US based illumination supply as soon as the vamo and charger cleared HK and the bats had not. I am fine with awaiting the fate of the FT bats now.

My order from Oct 2nd has stayed in a "origin Post is preparing shipping" since. two weeks ago I asked and then it showed the "origin post is preparing shipping" twice on the tracking website. Yesterday I received an ticket stating it had been returned and would I like a refund. The only battery item in there was a twist???? odd.

Can I just say.....I love Fasttech!!! I really do!
I have ordered from them three times, and I have been very happy with them.
One battery (ONE!) that I might have paid four bucks for had incorrect threading. Considering the money I know that I have saved, that is small potatoes. Especially since I have learned that Fasttech is far more reliable than a couple of "Going out of Business" ecig sales I have participated in.
I have a vamo V5 in the cart right now that I so desperately want to pull the trigger on........but despite its incredible price, I am afraid the hubby would have a fit and fall in it if he saw me with a device that large.
*sigh*
