All up in your grill..
Here is the inside scoop. Throughout all this fda/customs struggle our supplier smoke51 has managed to consistantly have product. Today I got a serious wake up call. Smoke51 has no tobacco or menthol. NO tobacco or menthol! My sales rep is telling me they don't know when or if they will have more. This I am afraid is a losing battle and I may very well be on the unemployment line sooner then I thought. Ironic isn't it? If I managed a liqour store or gun store my job would be safe...

Not even a gun store my friend, it is difficult to get guns and bullets are the hardest thing to obtain. Gun owners bought up the entire stock and they can't make em fast enough. People are worried Obama is going to restrict gun purchases.
add to that the fact that up until the week of March 16th, the military had started destroying spent bullets rather than allowing them to be reloaded for sale to civilians. This new "casings must be destroyed" rule had cut off major ammunition manufacturers from their largest supply of brass casings, used to make popular .223-caliber and .308-caliber ammunition for the public and law enforcement.

As for the OP - sorry to hear that Smoke51 has gotten hit by customs :(

Ignorance causes people to do a lot of crazy things.

Interesting reply to delite.... what are you saying here Monkey?

    My best,
    -VP

I think what he is saying is that these concerns are completely unfounded - The Obama administration has only discussed assault weapon restrictions - Restrictions that never should have been removed in the first place - The Supreme Court has already ruled recently that the 2nd amendment DOES apply to individuals and is not reserved for a militia - The NRA has played assault weapon restrictions up and incited the battle cry "OBAMA IS GOING TO TAKE AWAY ALL YOUR GUNS!" - Which is a far cry from the reality =-

no president is going to take your guns, that would be political suicide. I can't find .45 rounds anywhere right now and I get all kinds of B.S. from shop keepers about why they don't have any. If the right wingers weren't so paranoid I could be getting bullets right now. I guess I should have stocked up on November 3rd 2008.

hehehe - well paranoia is hardly reserved for the right wing - I'm always more perplexed by the right wings outrage at anyone telling them how to live - then put them in office and telling others how to live is always at the top of their agenda - what they really mean is that they want to be the ones doing the telling -

Anyway, back to e-cigs... Just so everyone knows how serious this is right now... And that US Suppliers aren't making this up to scare you into buying more...Vapor Options has had four shipments come from three different suppliers in the last two weeks get stopped at US Customs in Chicago. Just so you know, they were all shipped to a different address and a different name so that if my name was targeted, they wouldn't block everything else. Well, they did anyway. US Customs is cracking down hard.

I spoke with a US Customs agent in Chicago and he said that "All Electronic cigarettes are being stopped and held for the FDA". He was nice enough to give me the direct line to the FDA (1-630-860-1307 Ext. 109) in Chicago. I called them and spoke to "Supervisor Spivey" and he said that they are being detained until the FDA rules on their legality. He said that the contents are "Electronic cigarette paraphernalia" and that they will either get released to me or shipped back to the origin once the FDA makes a final decision. I told him that two packages are just parts and had no liquids or cartridges in them and are not under the jurisdiction of the FDA. He said, "Still drug paraphernalia and that they are under the FDA jurisdiction too. Drug delivery devices are regulated by the FDA".

It's a losing battle, no matter what you do or say to them. I have over $5,000 in goods there waiting for someone to get the balls to make a decision, let alone the right one.

    Thats my 2 cents...

That sucks what about personal use if ecigs and how to get them in in a legit way just for individual use?:(
So far no problems from china orders for my personal use. I dont order a retailers bulk amount, now im thinking this is going to change as well. I hope not :( but its going to maybe become a crapshoot in the near future for individual orders as well. I really feel bad for suppliers trying to make a living and at the same time helping people by giving them a better choice in their lives. Hoping for the best here but am prepared for the worst. We have a fight ahead of us, Im going to get a custom bumper sticker to help in it :)

Consider me a criminal if that happens :D but seriously, I really hope that these things are released from customs for our suppliers and this thing is settled in a good way. More people need to know about this thing in a passive way, US suppliers are our only bet for the most part, worse comes to worse, e-cigs are going to be history if this keeps up, and tobacco will rain supreme :(

Two of my last four shipments were inspected by customs and were not big orders at all and were not labeled as containing ecigs:( This was a first! They contained kits and a couple parts. Obviously for personal use only. The tops were cut off the boxes then messily taped back on after being inspected, each small box inside had obviously been opened and inspected, some small pieces were not put back in their original box. The good news is that I got them any way! Don't know if I just got lucky or if they are allowing personal use thru? It obviously is getting worse as I had never had a package inspected prior to this and two of them in the last couple of weeks!
