Why should Evolv go out of business? The FDA is only limiting what can be sold to consumers in the US. Today it's likely the overwhelming majority of Evolv products are shipped to China to be installed in mods. From there they can be sold all over the world. The same can be true for any vape product made in the USA. American eliquid with offshore brand recognition may already be doing well in other nations. Regulating vaping in the US may turn out to be like trying to stuff a bunch of cats in the proverbial basket.

P.S. I think I see evidence of growing public tolerance or indifference towards vaping. I can take a puff pretty much anywhere. Even when it's noticed, as long as I'm trying to be discrete and there's no visible vapor, nobody seems to want to to make an issue of it.

LFP cells get charged to 3.6V maximum. Some chargers have a setting for them, for example the XTAR VP2. That's a quality charger (albeit an older model) that you can get for under $20 these days. I bough several from a CoOp here in late 2014 or early 2015 for a considerably higher price. I've kept them as backups because I prefer the way 18650s fit in my VP1s.


I believe so, yes. They're definitely less volatile when physically damaged (punctured or crushed). Of course the main worry in a mech is a dead short. I'm not sure how they'd behave then. I may just have to find out at some point (of course not in an actual mod!)

My current charger will charge LiFePO4s. But since the 18650s linked above have a nominal voltage of 3.3V, I wasn't sure it was safe to charge them to 3.6V. But then I took the time to find out exactly what nominal voltage is, and now I see 3.6V would be fine.

Drat. No excuse to buy that other charger now.

Get a charger that has a proper LifePO4 setting/mode (finishing at 3.6v) --- I'm using an Xtar VP2 --- do not try to use a regular charger and 'stay on top of it'.

I never would. I was just positing it as one of the only ways to charge to 3.3V. I have an Xtar VP2 and a Gyrfalcon All-44. I'd be using one of those.

Just design your builds to give the vape you want at around 3.2v, and use a high discharge LiFePO4 cell (there are many low discharge LiFePO4 cells of various sizes, not a lot of high discharge cells).

I like the look of those. I really don’t like mods that are boxy or square looking. The just don’t look comfortable to hold. Maybe the are but I still prefer some curves lol!

Well, I know I speak for a minority of vapers, but the biggest threat to my long term vaping is the ability to find a DIY flavor I like. As I mentioned in other threads, I am ridiculously picky about flavor. I mean REAL picky. It's a curse. Trust me! And yes, I was a sampling fiend before finding that one ADV flavor. If I cannot find a flavor(s) that works for me then no amount of preparation means a thing. So for those who fall in my category, the best thing you could do is begin your quest now. It may take awhile and a lot of experimenting before you come up with an acceptable flavor.

And as we have all learned, no one can help anyone else with flavor. It simply does not work that way. Each person has to find it for themselves. Just because I think a particular flavor is great means absolutely nothing to anyone else. So, if you're as hopeless as I am in finding an e-liquid flavor you can vape you had better get started now. That should take precedence over everything else (e.g., stocking up on supplies and gear). With 9 months remaining there should be plenty of time for the secondary concerns. And if you cannot find a flavor you like in 9 months then there is no hope anyway.

I just started reading this thread. My first suggestion is use flavors from 'The Perfumers Apprentice". I've tried flavors from most all the places I could find and the only ones I could use to make anything that tasted like the flavor it claimed to be comes from their subsidiary "The Flavor Apprentice". Anyone looking for a starting place on any flavor from TFA that I use I will gladly pass on my recipe in milliliters per 30 total. Most of them are mixed at 1ml flavor to 29 base, and all are mixed with the Sweetener they sell. I have 28 flavors, mostly fruit and liquor, of which I feel confident of 25 to be very good. My daughter says my flavors are better than commercial brands. Quickest response times will be from emails on my email (bac080354@gmail.com) account.

I purchased 1 liter of 100mg nicotine June 8, 2016 and still have 375ml in the freezer with another 125ml bottle out for mixing. I mix a 3ml base fluid, so the nic calculator is a bit on the conservative side it looks like.

I started DIY about 1 year into vaping and found it pretty easy. Mixing tools and bottles are best gotten from Amazon, especially the syringes I use have blunt tips so I don't stab myself anymore lol. My one regret is I haven't learned to make my own coils and probably never will since my local B&M closed up.

My retirement fund kicks in next month so I hope to get stocked up more once that starts. Any suggestions on regulated mods similar to the KBox200 or the Wismec Reuleaux RX300 will be appreciated, as well as tanks that will work on those mods.

TPA are the older brand. Apparently, when they discovered people were vaping them, they made TFA with any potential nasties removed that were in TPA?

those have quite a low amp rating. I can't remember when the safety kicks in, but they are from the days of vaping high ohm low watts

Great use for them. I used one to put away all the dogs winter jackets and coats that were stuck in a pile in a corner. Now I have a black bag in the corner intstead lol!!

But about those strings. Why are there 4 instead of just a normal 2 string bag? Exactly how is it supposed to be carried or used!

Like a backpack. The strings from the top to the bottom are like backpack straps. I see kids with them sometimes. My husband and son used to get swag bags from work, all kinds of weird stuff in those duffle bag things. The son’s kids would get the bags. Great for them to bring some stuff along on a trip, even just a car ride.

You can put some rebuildable atomizers in your stockpile even if you are not ready to use them. If the day comes when you can't get pre made coils you'll learn to build and discover it wasn't so hard after all and why didn't you start years earlier.

Nearly 6 years ago I was smoking a carton a week, $60 x 50 weeks = $3,000. Vaping is costing less $100 a year, not counting additions to the stockpile. Like you may be vaping saved my life. Stopping smoking gave me the energy to reform diet and exercise. Those paved the way to reducing body fat 30 lbs (to 13.5%), adding 10-12 lbs of muscle and reducing blood pressure, sugar and fats to normal ranges. None of that would have happened without stopping smoking and that wouldn't have happened without vaping. The FDA is the enemy of my health. I'm all for abolishing them.

I got these. They are reusable. If they trip they just have to cool down and they reset.

My ideal resistance is 1.2 ohms, and I vape at 8.5W. I need to read more to see if that would work with those safety fuses (or you could tell me?). I saw some with higher amp ratings, but they were a good deal more expensive. I'll keep looking.

Yep that has been sorted....gotta love NZ. Nicotine on the other hand is still a grey area. I wonder which way that'll go in future. Atm it's illegal to sell nic here, but for personal use, one can import a 3 months supply.
I wonder if they have a file for us nicotine users

Only three wires need to be soldered to the board. Certain safety precautions need to be taken because of the battery, but it really is a simple build. There may be vids already, but if not, and if you are serious, PM me and I will take a series of photos on building one.

Also, there is a way to make it use a single 18650 instead of the included Lipo. A little more complicated to build, but some folks get eeeky about Lipos.
