Just asking a general question, hence posting this in the General Discussion subforum...

How many of you are familiar with the court case currently going on to decide the fate of electronic cigarettes? How many of you have ventured into the Campaigning subforum to see what is starting to happen in states like New York, Illinois, and Maryland?

But the real question is, how many of you have learned enough about what is going on that you are ready to do whatever it takes to stand up and be counted, to save your own lives, and the lives of those who would follow in your footsteps?

So please, feel free to use this thread to discuss the general effect the issues in those other subforums might have on your ability to vape, and make sure to bump it so all new members can have a chance to have their say as well.

AND REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A THREAD TO DISCUSS CAMPAIGNING OPTIONS.
THERE ARE OTHER SUBFORUMS FOR THAT, AND THOSE DISCUSSION BELONG THERE.

This is a good thread to discuss you feelings and opinions on how the turn of events could personally effect you... Please limit discussion on how you see yourself if this should continue

If you are not aware of the sub-forum that provides all campaign issues, events, and stances please feel free to peruse the Campaign sub-forum for enlightenment:

Me personally, I'm very worried, because I have to either vape or smoke.

Smokeless products don't give me what I need.
And quitting isn't even remotely an option.

@DC2 I know what you mean.. I can go with out vaping for longer than I expected.. but that's because I know I can still do it... I hope I can do with out.. should it go that route.. but I really don't want to go back to smoking or be forced to go against my moral standards

77fro - that made me LOL but it's true!

I am definitely worried, but I just feel like one way or another we will be able to get our stuff. If government wants to create a new black market while putting the interests of big business over the health of taxpayer's, so be it. We will likely have to pay jacked up prices for stuff but there is no cost I wouldn't bear if I could handle it to stay away from analogs.

I mean, ......... is prohibited but you can still get it. I just think banning ecigs creates so many issues for the government on so many different levels - enforcement activity spent on confiscating ecigs, and to a small extent public backlash. They are just figuring out the best way they can make money off of these and recoup any losses from cigarette taxes and people that switch to PV's.

Now admittedly I'm not too informed with whats going on in the states, but are these proposed bans "until further testing has been done that proves they are safe" or outright bans?? Maybe the plan is to try and get these things out of the market and then when we're all fiending for our supplies they'll come in and say they have a safe product and act like they created the e-cigarette. With HUGE prices. LOL I don't know...

If all else fails I'll have to vape no nic!

unfortunately, in effect, it turns out to be the same thing.

if this thread is OT, would it make sense to add another announcement asking people, especially those in NY, Ill and MD, to check the campaigning forum?

The government would rather have us poison ourselves with coffin nails so they can keep on making their money, the cigarette lobby will be happy and make their money and the hospitals and associated medical fields can make their money and watch us die of cancer.

What kind of crap is this? Although we have no choice, except to call our representatives, big brother is telling us what they think is in for our own best interest. They made ......... illegal because "oh it will turn you into a monster!" Remember the film ...... madness? Well it's natural! Now they are slowly letting people use it for medicinal purposes.

What about alcohol? That is one of the biggest causes of vehicle accidents, fights, ruining peoples families and lives not to mention their livers and people acting like idiots when over indulged.

No, the government supports analogs and alcohol, that is all just fine and dandy, but when it is something that will help people quit this horrible smoking habit, no, no, it's bad!

It is ok when companies poison our food, water and air but heavens no, get those nasty ecigs out of here! Those are deadly! Babies will see commercials for pacifier flavored e-liquid and want to order some right away! The heck with mothers milk, why drink it when you could vape it! LOL

I wonder if the government would change their tune if they got their share of the cash out of a e-cig material transaction, would they leave us alone then?
