I got some NETS that another member made themselves and the ones I tried so far are great. I have a lot of flavors that would last a long time but if for some reason I couldn’t get more then I’d probably learn to extract my own. I’ve heard of people doing that with coffee too.
NETs are very simple, but can take months. I make my own.

Kinda feels dirty, buying tobacco now. Ordering online softens that feeling. And straight from post pack to macerating jar when it arrives.

6ml PG for every 1gram tobacco. Leave in the cupboard for 3 to 6 months. Strain through a coffee filter*

*filtering is hotly debated. Whether less is more, or several passes through ultra fine lab paper is better.

I'll speak from the receiving end of this scenario, since I happen to be the newb in this situation. I think this mentoring approach that @Bronze has laid out here is perfect. Setting up a thread where newbs like me could be matched up with a couple experienced and thoughtful vapers would be amazing. It was overwhelming enough as a new vaper, with all of the gear choices out there, but then I stumbled into this thread and started reading about what is coming in May, and just about lost it. How the heck could I ever get schooled up enough and be able to make good choices in time? Bronze invited me into the PM conversation with @ShowMeTwice, and those guys really have gotten me off the ledge. First, they asked about how I'm vaping now, what have I found that I like and dislike, what does my budget look like for stockpiling, how I felt about my ability to handle rebuildables, and on - got a feel for where I'm at and where I would like to get. They didn't overload me with a bunch of options at all. Instead, they presented a few excellent options in each category of equipment and, most importantly, took the time to lay out for me in detail why each piece was suggested for stockpiling and taking me well into the future after the deadline. We've talked about pros and cons, they've posted videos and reviews and links to some very helpful threads here on ECF, and have introduced me to reputable vendors where I can begin to acquire the things that I'll need. A few short days ago I was overwhelmed and didn't have a clue where to start; today I am focused and have a real good feel for what I need to do to get ready. Bronze and SMT have spent a lot of time with me, and really have gone above and beyond. I am extremely grateful to them both.

I really hope that this idea takes off. I have benefitted greatly from this approach, and I am certain that other newbs would, as well.
And you're just getting started. Still plenty of time so no need to rush. :)

a thread entitled
RECIPES FOR THOSE WHO HATE MIXING
might be helpful.
just some recipes having few ingredients.

mixers think mixing is a fun hobby, but not everyone does.
me, i think it's as fun as cleaning the bathroom.
let people see it doesn't have to be complicated,

I can remember mixing sessions with a row of bottles ready and labelled, and 30 bottles of flavoring, each with its own 1ml syringe beside it. Recipes printed out. It took an hour just to lay everything out and an hour to clean and dry the syringes.

Now I mix a single large bottle when it gets low. A big cylinder for the pre-mixed base and a 10ml cylinder for the flavorings. Half of my dozen recipes are single shot flavors and the others only have 3 or 4 flavorings. Not super accurate but it does the job.

I enjoy tinkering so I made it through. A lot of folks aren't going to do all that.

People say to start by trying each flavoring on its own at different concentrations, then trying it every few days to see how it ages. Keeping detailed notes along the way. Then mixing flavors together and adjusting the components. Or trying recipes from the recipe sites and adjusting them to your own taste. It's all good but like you said not everyone is going to be interested in doing that much work. If I ever talk to someone who is getting ready to start DIY I suggest they start with one shots and go for simplicity rather than perfection. They can always go on to be more scientific if it appeals to them.

How many RTAs and RDAs does a person need to get them through 20-25 years?

It depends on the specific atomiser.
Build quality and materials vary a lot.

Insulators are probably a weak point for many. And of course any glass on RTA.
Lots you can buy spare parts, and there are more generic parts like O-rings that will be available regardless.

As many as they can comfortably afford and have space for ... or until a significant other puts their foot down, at which point a hard choice might be needed ;)

Are the one shot concentrates mentioned marketing for vaping? Or are the food concentrates?

Regardless, lots of single flavours work OK.

Fruits are super simple, hard to mess up. If you like fruits, that's where I'd start.

:2c:

The one-shots in question are made for vaping.

However, feel free to skip over any and all post that don't interest Ya' or pertain to "You" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Hard to say, as they are just flavor mixes. But yes, an easy intro to DIY juice.

They are useful in europe, with bottle size restrictions. They work for their own laws.
I'm sure something in the same spirit of cheating the system will pop up in the States, but it will be differet, for different laws

Vaping is the one thing that got many of us off a multi-decade smoking habit. I'm not going to speak for anyone else here, but even after 5-1/2 years, I worry that I'd return to smoking if I couldn't vape. That's not an acceptable outcome for me.

AGREED ! ! ! After 45+ Years smoking anywhere between 2 1/2 - 4 PAD (in later life) of tobacco cigarettes . . . I've been at this for over 9 years. AND - After going through all the trails and tribulations of finally becoming a full-time vapor only a few moths ago, if they BANNED everything and I could not even get "Stuff" via the black market that would eventually come to fruition (as it did with prohibition), I am just as concerned with only having tobacco as THE only other alternative . . . NOT NICE . . . Just Sayin' . . . :-x ,

I had it in my head that you were in FL somewhere, but I didn't remember any details. I have space in my freezer, but I'm probably 4+ hours north of ya.

    Why -
    images
    - so much for offering . . . If and when things might get to that point - I just might take Ya' up on that offer, even if you're 4+ hours away . . .Hey, I use to drive up to Port Richey 2-3 x's every year to visit a great friend before she died - So I can surely make it to Your place (well hopefully, I can still drive by then  ) . . .

    So...

If ALL flavours were banned, unflavoured was the only option...
Show of virtual hands who would go back to smoking?

That is the point, as I read it.

I wouldn’t because I could flavor it myself. And if for whatever reason I could not add flavor, I can’t say for sure. If I had no option but pre-filled Juul type pods, I would definitely go back to smoking. No way I want anything to do with that.
