I would add standard Lipos to the mix, used in a lot of box mods, and sold to the RC Hobby crowd, and no doubt will continue to be.Gear is kinda tough for me to recommend. I found gear that I enjoy and will last a lifetime back in 2014-2015, and I bought plenty of it over the following couple of years. None of that is available anymore, and even if it were still being made, most people wouldn't be willing spend the kind of money I did (in part to support the artisans that were making it right here on ECF).
The other catch is: Gear is a very personal thing. What your or I like may not be what the next person likes.
I will make one definitive statement though: You need gear that takes standard-sized batteries, either 18650s or 21700s. Anything with an internal battery is a no-go for the long term.
I think this thread mostly serves that purpose but I'm just wondering if there are enough reasons to split it out...one for juice and one for gear. I can see where folks would want to go back and forth depending on their latest needs.@Bronze maybe another thread dedicated to new vaper's and prepping?
I'm tempted to say: Let's let this thread run its course for a bit. We can start more when the countdown reaches EIGHT in about four weeks.I think this thread mostly serves that purpose but I'm just wondering if there are enough reasons to split it out...one for juice and one for gear. Probably a good idea for now. Let's see where this thread goes.I'm tempted to say: Let's let this thread run its course for a bit. We can start more when the countdown reaches EIGHT in about four weeks.
It used to be so simple: "Get a Provari!" "No, get a REO!"A newb asks about gear and he gets dogpiled with everyone's favorite piece of gear
Folks here be glad to help with DIY and most everything else also.I think this thread mostly serves that purpose but I'm just wondering if there are enough reasons to split it out...one for juice and one for gear. For example, I'm far from a new vaper but I am new to DIY. This thread has been very useful to me. I'm just wondering if mixing in gear talk wouldn't make it overwhelming to the newb.
I think you could be right. Not certain at this time so maybe it’s best to sit on the idea for the moment. Another thread could also turn into a dogpile and defeat the purpose. I’m for keeping the idea open but taking a little time to think it thru.Thing is new vaper's need everything. Think it would be easier for them to have all the info in one thread for them in particular.
First question I asked on ECF 7 years ago was the best mod to get. I was made to feel subhuman if I did not get a Provari. I hated Provari for a long time because of that.It used to be so simple: "Get a Provari!" "No, get a REO!"![]()
To be fair the options were a bit more limited then, have read some interesting posts from the provari wars.First question I asked on ECF 7 years ago was the best mod to get. I was made to feel subhuman if I did not get a Provari. I hated Provari for a long time because of that.![]()
But hearing all the talk about how cheap vaping was and then being told I was a ...... for not spending $220 for a Provari was a bit like getting body slammed by a gorilla. To be fair the options were a bit more limited then, have read some interesting posts from the provari wars.
I got the same when I mentioned mtl didn't work for me as a new vaper. There are still some here that still swear you can't succeed at quitting without mtl.But hearing all the talk about how cheap vaping was and then being told I was a ...... for not spending $220 for a Provari was a bit like getting body slammed by a gorilla.
People really like their stuff and their ways, huh?I got the same when I mentioned mtl didn't work for me as a new vaper. There are still some here that still swear you can't succeed at quitting without mtl.
Try telling someone to pin p r i c k their coil with a needle. The words ECF decides to censor is funny. Kretin (spelled with a C)? Really? Lol
Let me propose something else: Make test batches without nicotine and only add nic of you decided you like the mix. That way, if you don't like the mix and decide to pour it down the drain, you're not wasting nicotine.
At least they have good intentions, only thing that kept me coming back.People really like their stuff and their ways, huh?
