The boating accident is a common joke among gun collectors.

Fed's knock on the door. "We're here to confiscate all your guns" Well unfortunately they were all lost last week in a tragic boating accident.

It seems to happen far more than it should. Guns and boats just simply do not mix!

Wisconsin is 1 of the two states left that does not allow CC. Maybe with next gov we get we will be able to. I have others but no pics and nothing really cool. A 9mm S&W, (junk), and a SKS, those are just fallbacks. I might get a H&K 40 compact next, I was eyeing a FN Five Seven but the plastic feels to cheap for me. I found some 5.56 for $9.00 a box at a local store, so I am stocking up.

I colllected Micro's and Daltons for years and have quite a collection of Robbie's stuff.
Sold most of the MT's to fund the Daltons. Still have a UltraTech or two laying around.

Yeah...mine were lost in a tragic boating accident as well.......
There was a 9mm model 92 Baretta that I was very fond of....sad really.
Also my Walther PPK which I hadn't had for very long....perfect for CC.
There were others but it's much too traumatic for me to talk about......

I have a Glock 23 and my hubby has a 1911. He has a permit and I dont at the moment because my Glock is to big to conceal on my body..I will get my permit when I get my Glock 26.

Here's another female with her own personal mini-arsenal. I have a Ruger GP100 with a 4" barrel, my little Jennings 22 automatic (we call it my accurized Jennings it's so accurate) and my new 638 Smith & Wesson 32SP. It's hammerless and super light weight. I got it to carry on my motorcycle. Now I just have to figure out the best way to carry it!
Haven't fired it yet. I haven't had my Ruger out in about 18 years! I think it's time for target shooting!!!

Oh yay. A gun thread!

The day after I quit smoking analogs, my hubby suggested we go to the range. I promptly vetoed that idea! Even vaping, I was going through withdrawal/detox or whatever and I was afraid I'd be unsafe. I've given myself clearance for target shooting now, though, so we're going next week

Between the two of us, we have a small arsenal, but we mainly just shoot our latest pistols. His is a 9mm H&K P30 and mine is a 9mm Springfield XDM. I like my gun better, but nothing beats the grips on his H&K. OMG. When you pick that thing up, it's like your hand was created for the purpose of holding that gun! If I could have that grip on my Springfield, I'd be in heaven.

My other guns:
9mm Glock 26, .22 Ruger Mark II, Rossi 38 spec, Bersa .380, Mossberg .410, Ruger Mini-14.

Hubby's other guns:
Glock 17, Tec-9, AR-15, and some 12-gauge shotgun.

The Mini-14, Tec-9 and AR-15 were all bought just for the thrill of buying guns that were about to be banned in our state because they look scary.

Glad to see so many ladies taking responsibility for protecting themselves and their loved ones from "predators." I'm a strong supporter of the NRA and their support of the 2nd Amendment. Concealed carry is an honest person's best friend.

I dont own any firearms (the closest I ever came was a BB gun handgun that looked an awful lot like a magnum, I no longer have that, was too tempted to shoot the gigantic pigeons that land and let gigantic pigeon crap all over and shooting a BB gun is illegal in the city limits),

but I have shot either a rifle or a shotgun before (sorry I don't know now just what it was, was my father's when I was a kid, once a year he'd take it down, tear it apart, clean it, put it back up and in the middle of that it got a little workout shooting cans and he let me try. I got an awful bruise on my face each time, couldn't h hold it tight enough).

I've sometimes thought I'd like to go take a gun (especially handgun) safety course at the sheriff's department or something 'just because' it'd be good stuff to know if I ever did encounter and have to use one (I suspect you probably have to provide your own gun for that though). I know enough to never point one even unloaded at anyone else. A friend and I once asked to see them at the gun display at a store, it was strange to me to even hold one.

I remember years ago, when I got my permit, the very first time I carried in public. Not only was it strange, but I literally felt nauseus. The thought of having a deadly weapon at my disposal was a sobering one.
The other problem was keeping it concealed! Im not a big guy, and my Ruger was like a cannon to keep under my jacket! So I bought more guns. More powerful, and less obtrusive... needless to say, the nausea went away.
Point is, I understand what you mean. And its a good thing actually. But if your interested in getting one...then do it. Its one of the few rights that hasnt been taken away... yet.

I have several firearms, and I lean more towards the Hanguns than rifles or shotguns. I am a fan of semi-autos and my wife is all about revolvers so between the two of us the collection has grown rather large. Here are some of the favorites:

Sig P229 Equinox .40 cal
Kimber 1911 .45
Smith and Wesson Model 17 .357
Ruger LCP .380 (just got that for my b-day havent had a chance to shoot it yet)
Taurus Mill Pro 9mm
Smith and Wesson airlight .38 special

Ruger P89 9mm
Sig Mosquito .22
Taurus P-92 9mm

That is not the whole list but it is definately the highlights. I do have my CHL(concealed handgun license) and I try to get out to the range as much as possible. That however has been hard with ammo getting expensive and hard to find. Probably have not been shooting in about two months which is way too long if you ask me. How often do you all go out shooting?

some people just shouldn't have kids.
some people just shouldn't drive a car.
some people just shouldn't own a gun.

I think there's a responsibility for every person to know themselves and know their own limitations.

a whole lot of people in any of the above categories should be self-aware enough to know that they're in fact people in any of above categories. Many problems would be greatly reduced that way.

(I happen to be one who belongs in all three above categories.. and additionally you know when you're TV says 'not suitable for sensitive viewers'? -- that means me too)

although I really am not able to drive a car I am incredibly believe it or not legal to drive a car in my state (yet another long story) at least for the time being until I'm required to pass the basis eye test next turn and can't) and I do know enough of a car to know where every light switch is, etc in an emergency-handling plan I could certainly get every light on a car blinking, lay on a horn and create enough ruckus as I inched my way towards a hospital to probably call notice/help/police to us (I'm assuming I'd have to drive in the event my elderly friend suddenly conks out at the wheel or something and its my job to get him/us to help)

that's the kind of thing I had in mind with a gun safety course, just some sort of basics so if I don't know, there's some situation where there's a gun.. any situation.. maybe somebody went to attack me and by some miracle I've just wrestled the handgun away from an attacker (it could happen).. would suck to get that far only to then accidentally shoot him or myself with it, etc, would be nice to know how to be able to put the safety on a gun and know that I have, etc.
