Oh wow the Huckleberrry came out really good! Started out at 2% with some toasted marshmallow. Dripped a little FOOB and liked it but felt it needed something so I added a little ripe strawberry and a bit of sweetener. Really like it and I imagine some steeping will do it justice. And you are right, it is a strong flavor. Wouldn't want to go more than 2%. And I like my flavors pretty strong. [emoji6]

Great to hear you enjoy it too, it's such a interesting flavor isn't it! Ohh yeah, it's really strong, anyone reading head warnings and don't be mixing at 10% or something crazy (Probably end up tasting like drinking garlic perfume with a hint of bug spray :D)

On an unrelated note... I have a couple questions about a couple flavors I am just adding. First one, Cotton Candy. I just got a 4oz bottle of it directly from TPA and never really smelled it. I got it to use as sweetener so I figured it wouldn't really smell. Long story short, it taste and smell like spearmint. I don't, nor ever have, had or used any mint flavors in my DIY, so I didn't contaminate it on accident. Is this normal?

Also, I got a 4oz Strawberry Ripe. It taste EXACTLY like strawberrys... just not ripe. They taste green to me. Is this normal? Even at small % it is a little weird, and I feel like it takes away the sweetness to my juice a little and adds a sort of bitter taste.

Cotton Candy (EM) should smell just like cotton candy really, nothing at all like any mint. It should also taste, on your tongue (try it), just like cotton candy too. If it does not, then you got the wrong flavor by accident probably.

Your comments on Strawberry Ripe sound like it may be correct, it's a bit different than other strawberries and I could see how some might taste "green" a little when freshly mixed. What percentage did you mix it at, and how long has it been since you mixed it?

After about 7-10 days it will mellow out, around then or a bit after it turns yellow, then it should be plenty mellow and maybe then it won't have that green taste to you anymore. I mix it around 8%, others like it at 10-12%, and some like it about 5-6%, it's pretty versatile.

The strawberry ripe "ripens" some in the mix after a few days. It's quite good IMO.

I have tried to quit smelling the flavors, since I've learned that the taste is often quite different from the smell. But sometimes you can get a good idea... other times, I wish I hadn't smelled it LOL

I've had a few bites at the apple with cotton candy. I have the Loranns, Flavor Apprentice and Signature Circus CC. My first mix was 5% circus(stand alone) and within a week it turned into syrup and thickened into almost sludge. I made 3% circus(stand alone) and it was the same syrupy. I then blended the cotton candy with a Hangsen tobacco and it was amazingly good and didn't turn into syrup and the cotton candy popped. I ended up using 1.5% circus in a tobacco mix and its so far held its own great. I am disappointed in both Loranns and flavor apprentice cotton candies, to me they are sweeteners with a different name and virtually no taste but I will revisit them at a later time and try again.

Got some CAP Sweet Strawberry a week or so ago. It is GOOD.

Considering what you've said about your super-taster buds, I take that as very high praise indeed! It goes on the list! :thumb:

Thx!! :thumb:
Andria

PS: what percentage are you using of that, in recipes?

for just straight I used 10% at a bit of stevia. More of a candy strawberry than a natural one with the bit of strawberry raspiness. But GOOD, will make you some nice strawberries and cream. Playing with some creams in it now.
So far the CAP flavorings are impressing me FAR more than the TFA or INW do.

I am also impressed with the CAP Vanilla Custard.... heck it is good just straight with no sweetener!

On my flavoring recommendations.
We may differ on what we like but I do not think you will find anything I recommend to be perfumy or have an aftertaste, unless it is a desirable aftertaste :)

Most people around me have found that if Robert likes it they will too.
Many of them also like things I cannot stand, but that is life.

Just don't try the CAP Vanilla Custard v2... it might as well have a huge neon sign blinking ARTIFICIAL ARTIFICIAL ARTIFICIAL!

10% would be a real improvement over the 15.5% I currently use with the Inawera Shisha Strawberry; maybe I could finally get rid of a good bit of the gunking problem.

V2? OHH NO! finally found a flavor I like and now It is going obsolete?
How do I know the difference?
I just bought Capella Vanilla Custard from High Desert Vapes. Repackaged I think.

The v2 one has no diketones... the original one does. As far as I know, they plan to keep selling both. But that particular v2 is what got me to try TFA Vanilla Swirl, which is outstanding for a diketone-free custard type.

The State of Confusion
I love raspberry lemonade flavors.. when the raspberry is good. So far, I found one raspberry flavor that wasn't nasty and I can't remember what brand it was. :( I think it was FW. All the other ones are GRRROOOOOOOSSSSSSSSS... IMO

Sorry I have been busy and it took me a while to reply, but Juicy Peach is probably my FAVORITE flavor from TFA. It was the first one I found that, to me, could not make a bad juice. When I first started with it, I used it at around 20%.. usually by itself. Then I started to add 1-2 drops of Black Cherry per 5ml. Now I am mixing it with pretty much any juice I can. I am currently vaping:

10% Lemon
5% Juicy Peach
5% Watermelon Candy
2% Blueberry Extra
2% Key Lime

I would drop the lemon to 5% for anyone who doesn't want a powerful lemon flavor. I know you mentioned not having Lemon flavor, this is just an example.

Black cherry is SUPER strong for me. If I am going to use it, I measure by the drops per 5/10ml. One or two drops is usually where I land. Otherwise it is all I can taste.

What is this called?

10% Lemon
5% Juicy Peach
5% Watermelon Candy
2% Blueberry Extra
2% Key Lime

Will have to try the vanilla swirl. Those diketones must be tasty. Sounds like a lesbian bands name....

Lol and it's one of those flavors that "stay" with you. I liked it better with the ripe strawberry added. Overall a nice flavor when you want to try something different.

I have used Ripe Strawberry in several mixes and it seems pretty true to the description to me. I use sweetener at the average rate and that could make a difference.

This is what I'm vaping right now:

10% honeydew
5% vanilla bean gelato
5% sweet cream
2% sweetener

btw: if anyone wants to try, I once mistakenly mixed this with vanilla swirl instead of the sweet cream. It is POWERFUL stuff and not at all unpleasant. I still keep a bottle of this too ...

I thought this was interesting enough to share, a week ago last Saturday I had to order some TFA flavors, I ordered some of them from wizard labs, and the rest from TPA/TFA. I got the tracking number from TPA first, and showed movement on the 8th, and then got the tracking from wizard, which moved quickly and received it on Friday. The package from TPA never showed movement again. I sent TPA/TFA a e-mail about it, and they are sending me the entire replacement order, no questions asked, and said that if I ever do get the other one I can keep it. Outstanding customer service! :)
