I'm here, when I'm here
Wait till you get a whiff of it. That's just a hint of the reality.

I would start one drop at a time, 0.5% is a lot. Half a ml in 100 mls is way to much in my opinion.

Now, I'm skeered. Lol! Must be brave. :D When I get the rest of my flavors put together, I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks again for your help!

I'm sure this probably has been asked already but the search engine is not helping me to find the answer. I have many recipes I would love to try, many of Bill's dessert ones look wonderful BUT...most have "Butter" in them and I do not have that and will not be putting that in my e-liquid. Anyone figured out a substitute for the butter flavor that brings these desserts together? Wanted to try Apple Pie..needs butter. Wanted to try Bills Raspberry Frosted Danish..needs butter. Just about all of the desserts Bill(and most anyone) has listed on this thread and the dropbox all have butter.

Haha I have that one in my recipe folder already but forgot the maple syrup somehow when I placed my order. Was going to sub out the fruit tho, had a blueberry bought liquid that turned me away from blueberry for a bit. Strawberry or banana sounded yummy!

Mainly I was asking because I have lots of recipes that I wanted to make that need that certain flavor there. Pies, cobbler, cakes, cookies and such. I'm still new to all the DIY so I wasn't sure what I could add or combine to make these without the butter ?

You could try some sort of peanut butter (DX or V2) or butterscotch. If that doesn't work just try the recipe by just leaving it out. Bills 100DT will minimize loss if the batch is bad and gives you a good idea how the finished product will turn out.

Are you avoiding butter because contains diketones or just cause don't have? I see cap butter got cautioned recently at bcv, I prefer tfa' s and I have both, no idea on butter cream flavors, might not have that buttery/saltyish oomph and be very sweet...small amounts of butter do add that special "finishing" note to a bakery mix-my opinion only here/take with grain of salt, try without to see if you like, why not?

Cranberry muffin sounds good...a Plain muffin or cinnamon streusel type? I see vanilla cupcake as good start, some diluted Ap(fritos flavor), maybe another nut accent, cinnamon sugar cookie might add little something a low %, or inaw biscuit(this flavor gives me fits, even diluted, hard for me to get this where I want, others have success...not me really yet, recc because others use in bakery mixes though), fw yellow cake possibly....

Rice recently on reddit suggest kettle corn and a nut blend to get rice ...interesting.

Still waiting for sinus infection to pass before order and play around, no sense when sense of taste and smell lacking so much...

Yes, I'm avoiding diketones. I did indeed try a few recipes that didn't have butter and they are dry tasting. I even asked the company when ordering flavors last time if there was a sub for butter or anything close and they said Cap vanilla custard v2 possibly but they didn't seem too sure on that. Don't have that yet. I do have vanilla cupcake, Fw yellow cake, cinnamon sugar cookie... I guess most of those recipes Bill and some others I've found are just not gonna happen. I bought sooo many flavors to make these nice sweets and didn't realize the issue before hand. I did make a nice banana pudding I'm liking at least, no butter required. :thumb:

These are really miniscul amounts of butter in these recipies, pretty much just drops. So if you are avoiding because if diketones or something you might consider the small amount, .01%, being used as opposed to other flavors at say, 10% of total mix. Since these are all bakery type flavors recipies most of them do need butter to complete the taste. In searching, the only butter I found was Lorran's butter on ECX. It doesn't mention diketones. Idk what would replace it, maybe peanut butter in such small amounts would do it without too much peanut flavor or added sweetness. You wouldn't want a sweet PB, more a natural or organic one.

It's ok, you will somehow get around the butters then...distilled water or small amount saline to prevent the dryness..maybe...again no idea about the butter creams, I think they'd be sweet, too sweet...cap vC2 I didn't like nor do I think it would fill in for butter flavor really...if I come across something, will post...I'm still hoping on more dx flavors myself...andria avoids diketones, not sure if she knows anything to suggest...plenty of recipes out there to try without and make

The request was for justa plain ole cranberry muffin. Every "muffin" recipe I've seen has some sort of cinnamon in it. I thought it might give it an interesting twist as long as it stayed in the background.

If I try any recipes that call for butter flavor, I just leave it out. But this is one reason why I mainly create my own recipes; so many recipes that others create do call for ingredients with diketones. To me, "just a tiny bit" of that stuff is like being a little bit pregnant, or maybe a little bit dead -- any, is too much. And no, I don't know any more about that as a potential hazard than anyone else does, BUT, the *potential* risk -- lung destruction -- is simply too awful to even go near. One of those risks where even a little bit of the risk is too much -- like being struck by lightening -- some people have survived that, but you wouldn't want to bet on it. ;)

And that CAP Van Custard v2... BLECH!!! That stuff is the very definition of artificial tasting. I stick with TFA Vanilla Swirl; if I really want a custard type flavor, then I also add some TFA Bavarian Cream DX -- to me, mixing those 2 together provides a perfect custard flavor. The Bav Cream DX really can't be used at more than 6%, maybe 6.5% tops, or you do get that butyric acid flavor, which is pretty awful -- a great reason for using that one together with the Van Swirl. If you keep the Bav Cream DX at 6%-6.5%, in the background, you don't get that icky flavor.

Thank you so much for your responses! Not sure about the butter cream but that sounds promising if it's free of the bad stuff. I do have both the Bav cream and the van swirl, may take a look at some of these recipes and small amounts can be added to cream it up a bit. I'm so new I haven't even had time to taste all my flavors and been sick all week so I can't do it right now either. Maybe once I get them all tested up then I can make up my own and still have some pies and cakes to vape. :vapor:

    Somewhere between here and there
I'm trying to rework the peanut brittle recipe. I used the regular recipe for a while but kept finding myself wanting more peanut butter flavor and would like it really creamy tasting. I put this together last night but it's still not as thick or creamy tasting as I'd like. Any suggestions?

    peanut butter 12%
    RY4 double 7%
    sweet cream 3%
    sweetener 2%
