Forgot about the FW English Toffee I got for Satchvai's Peanut Brittle recipe. Made some a while back, it's still steeping/waiting for me to vape it.

I'll let you know about the third ear thing. Maybe we can start some kind of support group.

No Flavor West? Am I missing something?
Among all the rest, I have a lot of FW.
Because they recommend starting at 15%, and some flavors require 18% for me to taste, I mostly prefer the flavors by them that I can use "solo".
Fortunately, they have a lot of flavors that are just plain good on their own.

I don't like to use super high percentages, ...so for me, they are not as useful in making recipes.
By the time I add enough % of FW, and then start adding other flavors, I've gone past the amount I like to use percentage wise.
To get around this, I mix up the flavors (only) called for in the recipe ... that way I can use a high percentage of flavorings of whatever is called for.
Basically I have created a new flavor.
Then I use that combo of flavorings as a single flavor, in the % I prefer, which gives me the flavor I want without having to use a high % to get the same flavor.

Like most of you, I have more TFA than any other company, but I have a lot of flavors from other company's that are staples.

Here are a couple recipes that use all TFA flavorings, and have TFA Coconut in them. I make them both regularly, for myself and for a neighbor.

The first one is 1 of Bill's recipes. I've made some changes to it for our tastes, as you probably will for yours, too. But his original recipe is below.

"Flamingo"

Strawberry 8%
Peach 7%
Coconut 3%
Sweetener 2%

**1 thing I found that worked well in it for ours, was to use Strawberry @ 2% + Strawberry Ripe @ 6%. This cut down on the ethyl alcohol in it a bunch, and the 2 strawberries together made a better overall strawberry taste to us.

This second one, is a recipe of my own. It uses all TFA flavorings, too. I use the DX versions for ours, but you can use regular instead, of course.

"Hawaiian Delights"

DX Coconut - 4%
DX Sweet Cream - 2%
DX Banana Cream - 3.5%
Pineapple - 4%
Sweetener - 2.5%

**The Pineapple is pretty strong, so you may want to start with less if it's not a favorite flavor of yours.

I've also made a good Coconut Custard Cream with a slight Chocolate taste to it. But...I can't put my hands on my scribbled down recipe for it right now. Will post it sometime in the future when I find it.

Since I'm new to all this I take it most, at least on this thread, feel TFA flavors for the most part are the best? That's what I'm starting with.
I got started with TFA because that was one of the two flavor manufacturers stocked by the only local B&M to sell DIY products. It was also the flavor line they used to make their house label ejuice products.

So, when I dipped my toe into the DIY pond, I went looking for info. I found ECF, and then found the TFA and TFA Recipe threads, and then I fell face first into the DIY waters. I stayed with TFA flavors because that was the focus of the threads I followed and the recipes I used. It wasn't until conversations, and my own desire for more perfect taste, that I started to explore other flavor manufacturers.

Certain flavors of TFA just weren't hitting it for me. Strawberry, watermelon, and mango were the ones that recently started my quest beyond TFA. I was originally buying from Wizard Labs as they offered the 8mL sample sizes for around $1.40. But they don't offer customer reviews of flavors and they were a little limited on the manufacturers they offered. Then I learned about Bull City and started to refer to their site for the reviews. Being able to compare similar flavors from multiple manufacturers AND read first hand perceptions of those flavors was a real help.

Today I have 242 different flavors. This is made up of 155 TFA (64%), 24 CAP (9.9%), 21 INW (8.7%), 16 LA (6.7%)(this is mostly left over from my buying at my local B&M days), 11 FA(4.5%), 6 FW (2.5%), 6 OSDIY (2.5%), 2 HS (0.8%), and 1 Wizard Labs (0.4%).

These days, for me, if I get a recipe I like but has a flavor note that isn't as good as I think it could be; I start cross searching that flavor across multiple manufacturers. My last order from Bull City included 5 different mangoes from 5 mfg., 5 different strawberries from 5 mfg., and 4 different watermelons from 4 different mfg. All that to be able to compare side by side, and maybe start experimenting with combining various mfg. to get all the notes I'm looking for.

It is only my opinion but I think TFA's strong suit is that almost all of their flavors are basically "one note" flavors. By that I mean each flavor was designed to give you one specific flavor note. This is great for building and layering flavors to get a recipe just the way you want it; not so great if you are looking for a single flavor recipe.

Compared to other manufacturers who more often create more "complete" or complex flavor profiles (one "flavor" may have notes of fruit, cream, sweet, bakery, and spice). This might make a better single or two flavor mix but if it contains notes you don't want in your recipe, or if the notes are not in your desired proportions (it might have too much sweet and not enough bakery for what you want) it might not work. So one is not right and the other wrong; they just have their different uses.

If you're like me and TFA Pear starts to wear you down after awhile, here's another all TFA Snake variant to keep things interesting:

Snake Venom
Juicy Peach 5%
Bavarian Cream 5%
Coconut Extra 1.5%
(optional) EM 0.50%
Cool! I've never thought about a peach/coconut combination. It actually sounds really good. I've added it to my To Make list. Thanks for sharing!

No Flavor West? Am I missing something?

Like others, I just followed general recipe requirements at first and that did tend to be TFA. Nobody seems to mention FW, thats all.
