Got some Raspberry Sweet in the other day and have been playing around with it. Boy is this stuff strong! I wanted to use it to tame the upper notes of Forest Fruit in a mix but at 2% it took over the recipe. New mix at 1% steeping but I may need to go lower.

I have a bottle of that too. Maybe i mixed it to heavy. I am trying to get a raspberry / blue raspberry type flavor. Any suggestions?

You could try a little peach instead of or in addition to raspberry. Peach tends to smooth it down a bit. At least that is what I did when the forest fruit I mixed was too strong.

Following @Kaezziel 's advice on making a tea extract a little while ago in this thread- I finally got around to doing it.

Got a small 4oz glass jar from Walmart for like a buck, 2oz sample of a passion fruit tea from Teavanna, and using his SWAG advice (hehe) put two teaspoons of loose tea with 30mls of straight PG in the jar. I used a little saran wrap to help the top fit a little better and now I wait two weeks and we'll see what happens. I'm very excited [emoji1303][emoji51]

Awesome! You'll have to let us know how it works out for you. :) I need to get another batch of the Rooibos going this weekend... I'm all out of what I'd made earlier, and I'm kinda missing that juice now! Maybe I'll try a few different tea varieties this time around and see if I can actually taste a difference. Thanks for the reminder! Looks like we're both gonna have a little wait time on our hands. ;)

I wonder, would there be more of a response if this had it's own dedicated thread? You know, like a "Help needed for DIY percentages" type of thread.

Remember that old Red vs Blue recipe from a few years ago? 6% each of TFA's Juicy Peach, Blueberry and Strawberry. After you get your Forest Fruit figured out, maybe try the following variation.

TFA Strawberry 6%
TFA Blueberry 5%
TFA Raspberry Sweet 4%

I have found that Raspberry sweet is not shy at all, it can play well with others but needs some room.

Anyone have a good Cherry flavoring that doesn't taste like the cough syrup?
:)
I'm curious too.I originally bought maraschino cherry, and it was like straight Robitussin,so i got the cherry extract, and it is a lot better, but to me still has the faint cough syrup taste.Black cherry same thing, although i think it has alcohol in it,and i never tried breathing the mix i used it in,i let it steep a few days, tasted it,and dumped it haha.

Well, as I said, I am still playing around with it but this stuff is strong! If you are looking specifically for a Raspberry flavor, the recipe as it stands is really quite pleasant and better now that it has had a couple of days to settle down. I was not looking for a raspberry dominant vape and have already made a new 60ml with reduced raspberry.

The Raspberry dominant recipe I'm currently vaping through:

VBIC..............6%
Marshmallow.....2%
Forest Fruit.....4%
Raspberry........2%
Strwberry Ripe..1%

Current batch steeping
Rasp..1%
StrR. .5%

4% sounds high from my current experience, but it could just be my tongue.

As much as much as I enjoy the VBIC I have to remember that, at least for me, the vanilla flavors tend to brighten things up a bit. YMMV of course.

Thanks!

If it's raspberry dominant at 2%... I was way too high on my percent! Maybe that's why the flavour seemed off.

VBIC... Vanilla Bean Ice Cream? I have both Cap and TFA I think.

Yep, and marshmallow tends to smooth things out. It is a dance!

To me it is a very strong flavor, not Banana Ripe strong, but strong. I can't see using it above 3% or so. I'm using TFA VBIC.

Actually that is a good idea. I have had a member needing help and not knowing which thread to post in and not knowing how to start one. ghola1 would you please start a thread? Or I can if you want.

:)
I have been playing with TFA's Cherry Blossom with pretty good success.

My ongoing quest has been to find a true all-encompassing pipe tobacco. The kind that reminds me of my grandfather's tobacco pouch from the 1960's. One component of that is a cherry note... almost more fragrant than flavor. I have been using both TFA's Cherry Blossom and Black Cherry together between 1 and 1 1/2% each.

With the dominating flavors of the tobacco; the blossom could not stand on its own. That was when I found the addition of black cherry in a 2:3 ratio worked well (most recent efforts use 1.5% Blossom to 1% Black). It gives it a nice "nose" with a hint of cherry in the background flavors but doesn't turn it into that in-your-face cherry of a Swisher Sweet cigar.

I do not get any candy, artificial, or medicinal notes when used this way. But, do keep in mind, this is a tobacco forward/dominant effort. I am not sure how this would translate if you are working on a more cherry forward "fruit" recipe. :D
