I like FW Caramel Candy. I use it at 12% stand alone and also add it to a ry4 at 4% for a friend if mine. It is pretty sweet.
I have that one as well, guess my next test batch will be a higher %.

I have all three of those. Unless the flavors have escaped the bottles, I can't taste these at TWICE those percentages. Last test was caramel original at 10%, with only VG. Read some single flavor percentages of it at 15%. I've keep the cap on tight, but even the smell is not as strong as the first time I opened that bottle. Thanks, but I'm at a loss to explain this latest setback in my juice making education.![]()
For anybody looking for a true caramel flavor, maybe check out Real flavors caramel.I haven't tried that flavor from them yet,but all their other flavors i have tried are spot on to what they are supposed to be,so may be worth a shot.
I have around 12 so far. They are great for easy 1 flavor mixes, and the ones i've tried are true to taste, but at least for me,they need some steep time, others have said they are good to go the next day,so it varies by taste, but well worth checking into.Their cherry pie is the only cherry i have vaped that doesn't taste like cough syrup,it tastes exactly like cherry pie filling.Hmm..I might branch out to real flavors and see what they got.
I am the same way with caramel. I just can't taste it..I taste a little sweetness and a hint of caramel at the exhale.
Try FA caramel at 7%
Vg mutes flavor. Pg carries flavor. Thanks, glad to know I'm not totally crazy. Thing that's making me nuts is, when I first started DIY, not very long a go, I made a mix with 8% caramel original. I had TFA banana at 10%, but my notes were that the caramel was almost over powering. Now with the same caramel flavor at 10% in just a VG base, I can't taste it. And the smell is less pronounced. Even though my cap is on good, it's almost as if most of the flavor molecules have escaped in the short time I opened the small bottle.

One of the reasons I am not all "warm and fuzzy" about plastic for long-term flavor storage. I also wonder if certain flavors are more susceptible than others.it's almost as if most of the flavor molecules have escaped in the short time I opened the small bottle.

Until I have a better understanding of how it works I tend to order in minimal quantities. At least until I get a better feel for what my potential usage is likely to be. I tend to be a flavor tramp... I will order a new one, experiment with it in a few mixes, and then I am off to a new one. The previous one relegated to the
black hole of my flavor boxes.![]()
That is odd... I agree that there shouldn't be much loss from glass storage. The only other things I can think of that might affect potency could be (in no particular order) light degradation, excessive headspace, excessive temperature, and settling/separation (not necessarily visible). If those are all ruled out I am clueless.I don't know how much flavor potency could be lost or diminished in a resealed bottle in 5 weeks time.
Whenever I get a new flavor I "try" to taste as a stand alone first/also. For me at least; it is hard to know what a particular flavor is bringing to the party if I don't taste it by itself. It also gives me a chance to see what percentage is going to work best for myself.Order came in this afternoon! Was thinking of starting with something simple about half Watermelon with half watermelon candy.
On the cantaloupe,it is very good shake & vape, and i never noticed any change as it aged,it seemed to stay pretty much as is through 120ml bottle of it,just vaping it once in a while,so that bottle lasted a month or more.Obviously tastes vary, but personally i used it at 10% as a stand alone, and that was the perfect % for me to get it exactly like the real thing.Order came in this afternoon! Was thinking of starting with something simple about half Watermelon with half watermelon candy. TFAs watermelons basically shake n vape?
Also what about the cantaloupe? Require steeping? Have to look at each individual flavor to see exactly which ones have Eth Alcho in them but I know even 100 percent pg flavors need to steep sometimes. Excited but know this isn't an exact science, it's a process figuring out what works best for my individual tastes. Feels good though haven't bought flavoring in about a year was forcing myself to use the 25 plus bottles I already had! Love that flavoring smell when you first pull out the bottles from the package all neatly arranged in little zip locks! BCF is top notch, great packaging and bottling!
Cantaloupe and Hondew are freakin great pair. I used both @3% with creams and sweeteners. Careful with Pineapple, I'd start at 2%, and increase from there........ cantaloupe and also pineapple![]()
@b.m. What would you say the average steep time is for RF? I'm hearing 3 weeks. Also that their Bread Pudding is to die for................... Real flavors caramel.I haven't tried that flavor from them yet,but all their other flavors i have tried are spot on.
Honestly,i'm not real sure,i tried them after a week, then left them for a month,so it could be anywhere in the middle there.I have seen several people say they are good the next day though.I started them out at 10%,and that seems to be too low for those flavors,so even after a month they were still very lightly flavored, but there is enough there to tell which ones i really like and want to work with more.Yes,the bread pudding is fantastic, that is the 1 flavor that got me interested in them, and i figured may as well try some of their other stuff at the same time haha.@b.m. Yes, you need to test yourself, as all our taste buds are different (mine are half dead). My %'s were already posted.T..... Would 7% Cantaloupe be appropriate with 4% Honeydew? Guess I need to answer that for myself but want to make sure im not way off on the right proportion of the two flavors in the recipe.
Have you found the concentrate 'potency' to be very similar, or all over the place like TFA? What would you recommend for a starting or using % for that Bread Pudding?I started them out at 10%,and that seems to be too low for those flavors,so even after a month they were still very lightly flavored, but there is enough there to tell which ones i really like and want to work with more.Yes,the bread pudding is fantastic, that is the 1 flavor that got me interested in the
