Sharing a work in progress...
I'm looking for a creamy, salty caramel - I have enough RY4 variants so this will be caramel dominate. I am shooting for a base that can be used on the fly when I have a hankering for something but know I want this flavor in the mix and without the hassle of dragging out all these flavors for just 120ml. I tend to keep "flavored bases" on hand and add flavor shots to them.
Been a few months worth of remixes - caramel - to me - can get lost in the mix easily and not very stand out on its own as a single flavor. All the flavors in the base mix are here to accentuate and elevate the caramel
feel - the sensory perception (mouth feel, nose exhale, etc) not just to say "Hey, I taste caramel!". I can do that easily...I'm experimenting to see if I get levels deeper into the flavor experience.
This all sounded right in my head - I'm reading it and have reworded several times already and I still sound insane! I hope you guys get the meaning though...
Here's the recipe as it stand how. This is a fresh mix tonight - hasn't steeped obviously - I will leave cap off for 24 hours as customary for me now. I do not heat steep - I think it messes adversely with some flavors so I stopped completely.
TFA Caramel 8%
TFA Brown Sugar Extra 1.5% (this is for a more caramelized feel)
TFA Sweetener 1%
INW Shisha Vanilla 3% (through my previous mixes - this vanilla won out in flavor to compliment the caramel without overpowering the mix)
INW Biscuit 2% (full mouth-feel sense - adds a bit of spice but not overbearing)
TFA Bavarian Cream 2% (this and fresh cream to added in equal parts to give the creaminess I want)
FA Fresh Cream 2%
EM .5 (POINT 5) (bring it all together without muting flavors - I don't use this much at all but seems to work very well with the direction I'm going)
Mixed 30ml then added 3 drops of saline - I'll need to wait till tomorrow to see if I need to add more.
I love this DIY journey and thank and appreciate you all for contributions. I have learned so much
