When i first started diy, most of stuff i wanted to make was tobacco flavors, and then i read about those long steep times and got very discouraged very fast haha. Then the more i read,i seen several people mention the hot water bath,so i tried it,and it has worked very well for me.I've used that method on other flavors that need steep time too,and sometimes it worked ok,and others not so much, like vanilla custard based juices,i didn't like how those turned out at all with the heat, but tobacco flavors seem to work really good with it.There are several methods people use for it,one that is widely reccomended for tobacco is to use a crock pot,put the juice in a glass bottle, fill the crock pot with water, and turn on the low setting and heat for 4 hours.I didn't have a crock pot at the time,so i seen someone else mention the water in a cup.The crock pot method would probably produce more of a repeatable method,as in theory,it should heat to the same temperature every time, but when i use the cup method,i take a coffee cup filled about 2/3 with water, and i heat it in the microwave for a minute and 30 seconds, then drop the bottle in,let it get nice and warm, then pull it out and shake the crap out of it,then back into the cup to sit until cool, then repeat one more time, then shake again when it's done, and let sit overnight.
