I think you're right, Andria - I sense the LorAnn flavorings to be a little more concentrated than TFA. I used LA Almond in my Honey tobacco, and even at 3%, it's WAAAAAY too much for me. I'm going to drop to 1% next time I make a batch - I don't taste much of anything else (which this endeavor was infinitely better than the 7% I put in my first batch )

Hmm ok... I wasn't planning to use much anyway; the suggested percentages in that TFA chart say 10% for ginger ale and 5%-7% for the cherry extract; I was thinking I might use just 3% of that and see how it tastes, since I don't want it to overpower the ginger ale flavor. I'm guessing, with these being TFA's, that I also need to add sweetener?

If I try the cherry extract at 3%, maybe I'll try just 1% of the Lorann. And I need to do another order at BCV, for some of that Capella Wild Cherry. Also thought I might try the INW shisha vanilla, Jimi D over at the INW thread was saying it's pretty great, and as much as I love the shisha strawberry, I gotta try it -- can't ever have too many great vanillas! I got a freebie from VT of some of the regular INW vanilla, but haven't tried it. Might grab another tobacco to try, if I can see one that seems like it would be the sweet sort I'm after.

Quick question that is slightly off-topic, but also fairly general, and I have no idea where to find any better place to ask it... Aren't the Lorann flavors usually really strong? Like, only needing 1%-2% for good flavor? I just got the Lorann Cherry, and really have no idea how much would be good to use, to try in a side by side with the TFA Cherry Extract (along with the TFA Ginger Ale).

Thx!
Andria

I have never used Lorann but for sure TFA are not the strongest flavours out there. Inawera are so far the strongest I have found. A little goes a long way. However, although Inawera have a multitude of tobacco choices they are a little lacking on the sweet stuff. That could be a cultural thing. People in Europe are less likely to think of vaping desserts. :) .. they're missing out though. I love them and I'm losing weight on them without even trying. These days I can just get by with one meal a day... the rest of the time I'm vaping cake and pudding. :D

Yessir - I'm in agreement that TFA is not as "potent", but because so many recipes refer to TFA, I'm prone to using them because of the consistency. I'm a "lazy" DIY-er - I don't have a lot of time or patience for trying too many new things (unless I'm jonesing for something that I've not found a recipe)

Andria - did your LA Cherry have coloring? Mine's pink (which is why I've been leaning on the CAP Wild Cherry)

I don't use a lot of LA, but of the ones I use, yes, you don't have to use such a high %
The Cherry (to me) is good solo at 5-6%. Also, it's a Maraschino flavor, not an "off the tree" flavor.
Great in recipes.

Also thought I might try the INW shisha vanilla, Jimi D over at the INW thread was saying it's pretty great.

I asked Jimi what % he used, but I haven't heard back yet.
I worked my way up to 12% solo .. it's OK, but I would not know there was any vanilla in it, if my paperwork didn't say so  It surprised me, .. most of the Shisha flavors come through pretty good, but not the vanilla (for me).
BTY the Shisha Cherry is Maraschino too, and super strong.

The Inawera Gold Ducat (tobacco) is good at 1%, and on the sweet side.
Don't care much for the rest of their line of tobacco's.
And .... Yes, congratulation on your EFC win

@AndriaD - BullCityVapor for the INW shishas? I LOVE strawberry and I LOVE vanilla - Yes, I have a ZILLION TFAs, but you're right - you can't have enough Vanillas :D

Yeah I really prefer BCV for the INW flavors, because they don't rebottle, they're all original bottles -- so even though their prices on 'em aren't great, at least you know you're getting *the real thing*. If I want to scrimp, I'll order them from ECX, much better price, but they do rebottle. The first time I got the shisha strawberry from ECX, it tasted fine, but the 2nd time... I dunno, it seemed a bit weaker. Just didn't seem quite *right* -- I was still wrestling with that when you put me onto that classies listing, the 100ml -- still got lots of that! :D

I'm reminiscing.... I remember when I first found ECF, and I was still "lurking".... Found a guy who'd posted about having received a whole boat-load of juices (not DIY) but he was trying to explain to his wife why he needed "this vanilla" and "that vanilla" because there are so many kinds of vanillas. I was crying, I was laughing so hard. Then he signed her off as "the one who controls the Credit Card" or something like that. Wish I could find that post again - HILLARIOUS

Well that's great news about the Lorann being that sweet maraschino sort, that's what I like -- also great about the shisha cherry, if I need to keep hunting for a flavor I like. I don't like sour or tart cherry AT ALL.

That's good news about the Gold Ducat, I could try that. I don't like the Virginia flavor at all anymore, but I know there are a lot of sweet tobaccos; when I first started vaping and was looking for *the one* that I could switch to from cigarettes, I tasted a lot of them and at the time, didn't like them at all -- my tastes have changed completely since I got that nasty burnt taste out of my mouth and my tastebuds have recuperated to some extent. I got the Vanilla for Pipe recently, and it's pretty good, and I was planning to mix it with a bit of the Deluxe TDM, also pretty good, and sweet. Then try to combine with whichever cherry suits me best, to try and make a sweet cherry pipe tobacco sort of flavor.

I have a blindness as you describe to that vanilla, with chocolate flavors in vapes... I can smell it just fine, smells lovely, but I simply cannot taste cocoa or chocolate, even when I mixed up the choc cream pie recipe. My smocha has 3% TFA Milk choc and 3% Dbl choc-clear, but all I really taste is the coffee tobacco, cream, and sweetener... it's good, but the chocolate just seems to make it creamier and softer, to me.

I have "Sweet Cherry SCG" by VZ, that I use in my tobaccos. There's no Maraschino flavor in it (for me)
Jimi just got back to me ... he uses 1% of the Shisha Vanilla  and loves it .. I use up to 12%, and still can't taste it. Go figure !! At least someone's taste buds work

Oh..Oh now lets keep to topic here this is the TFA thread...pfffffff!

Just kidding!

I was in another thread and I asked a question in regards to a post and some Einstein had to make that comment in his answer to me!

Folks we are all adults here and ALL questions are welcomed!

This is how we ALL learn!

This is a lot closer. I think with a bit of steeping it would be more or less it. Already with a freshly mixed 5ml and vaping them side by side they are very close.

So here is what I think is my final version of the Mystique Prometheus Clone :

As that reviewer says, this is not an ADV - but it is something I go back to time and again for that feel of utter decadence. :)

That looks AMAZING :) I've "borrowed" your Venus clone, too - can't wait to whip up each of these. Thanks :)

Borrow away :) - that is why we all share our recipes. Personally, I shall ever be beholden to @Bill's Magic Vapor - he taught me the art with his wonderful recipes which he always so generously shared. As for the Prometheus I think it does need some time to mellow. After all, I bought the original bottle of Prometheus I was comparing it to almost three months ago.

@Papillon61 - did you use Coconut Candy or Coconut (Extra)? I found with the Extra that it does need some settling time. I'd whipped up some of Bill's Almond Joy a couple weeks ago, and it has taken a bit for the "artificialness" (it's my word :D) of the coconut to subside (which means next time, I'm dropping by about a 1/2% or so...)

With the Prometheus, I could see the graham cracker or possibly the coconut needing some time to tone down....

I finally settled for plain coconut. I felt the Coconut Extra was a little too harsh and overpowering. You might try coconut candy if you wish - i don't have it.

I've been holding on to a big secret - LOL. I've been working on a line of juices built round Game of Thrones. I got the idea way back when I found I recipe online which was called Clim Your Throne Clone. I never tasted the actual Claim Your Throne juice if it actually exists. I've perhaps bought 8 to 10 premade juices since I've been vaping.

Anyway I mixed up this Claim Your Throne recipe and I liked it. So from there I went on to think of some of the characters and their personalities or preferences. First came Jon Snow, then Daenyris, Aria and Tyrion and finally Sansa. A couple of the recipes are purely mine. The others are adaptations of some of Bill's or other people's recipes. The main tones of these , amongst other supporting flavours , are:

Claim your Throne - Butterscotch
Daenyris , the Mother of Dragons - Dragonfruit
Jon Snow, frozen sweetness - Mint Toffee
Aria, mischievous and fresh - Banana, rum and Koolada (slight adaptation from Bill's Monkey Business)
Tyrion - naughty but kind - Absinthe, licorice and raspberry
Sansa - naturally, Lemon Cake.

I even created Labels for them for a laugh :) I couldn't use is of course for copyright reasons. If I were younger and vaping was not so cruelly jeopardized I could easily see myself going into some sort of business with these. :D
