Just started diy. Got my stuff in today. All tfa flavors. But everything I try to mix using cream flavors- malt, sweet cream, Bavarian cream, etc. Seems to give me a weird kinda bad taste in exhale. Is this usual for tfa creams?

I haven't tried malt but Bavarian Cream and Sweet Cream blend recipes very nicely. Have you tried them with another type of fruit? I get a weird aftertaste with all the TFA Strawberries. But a lot of others seem to enjoy them. YMMV.

Here is one of my Favorite desert recipes. It's a tweak of a plain Rice Krispy recipe someone else posted. I looked for who to give credit but couldn't find it again, so if it was you, thanks.

Strawberry Rice Krispy Treats - 28%
Rice Crunchies 12%
CAP-Sweet Strawberry 3%
Bavarian Cream 3%
Sweet Cream 3%
Toasted Marsh 3%
Marshmallow 3%
Butter 1%

I finally made up a Peanut Butter version of this today and I've gone through the whole 10 mils, so I guess I like it too.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats - 30%
Rice Crunchies 12%
Peanut Butter 5% (lowering to 4% on next mix)
Bavarian Cream 3%
Sweet Cream 3%
Toasted Marsh 3%
Marshmallow 3%
Butter 1%

Shake, vape, enjoy......:D

RWHY4

10% Ry4 Double
5% Caramel Candy
5% Bavarian Cream

I added 2.5% Vanilla Swirl to it :D

That's what I love about DIY. I have about 10 mils left of the Rwhy4, so I need not wait to try swirling it, just added a .25 ml of Vanilla Swirl and loaded it up. It works. Thanks for the update.

Did you like it?

Your peanut butter rice krispies sounds yummy! I don't have the rice crunchies of course.

Well, that didn't last long. The sweetener fouled my coil/wick badly yesterday. I'm going to take it apart and see what's up this afternoon, but I'm definitely not using sweetener again. I'll leave it out next Twinkie mix, that or I'll see how EM/Cotton Candy does in it.

Does anyone have any issues with EM gunking coils? I watched the resistance go from .32 to .59 over the course of the afternoon and evening yesterday before I took the nastiest vape I've tasted in a long, long time.

I use cotton candy instead of sweetener. I don't think it would be a coil gunker, however I don't use a lot of it. I think the most I have used is 3%, but usually 2 or less.

I am just wondering, are you talking about TFA sweetener? and if so how much were you using? I use it all the time, but I never go above 1%, I have found that most flavors I use, are already sweet on their own, so I don't need to add very much, I don't really like the EM or cotton candy, as a sweetener, it seems to mute flavors. I never did get the other one Stevia?

I used 4% per the recipe. It was fine at first, but it gradually got worse over the course of about 12 hours. I'm not going to risk repeating the experience by reducing the % next time. I'll try Cotton Candy. If that doesn't work out, I'll leave it out completely. I'm not big on artificial sweetners in my food and beverage so I'll just leave them out of my vape too. It's usually sweet enough for me without them anyway.

I've made the Twinkie mix as an adv & my wicks d coils are good for at least a week.

Well, it did this to a week-old rewick of triple-twisted 28g:

I won't be using it again. My throat still hurts from that nasty hit last night.

ETA: I was running at 30W and as previously stated coil went from .32 to .59 in a matter of hours.

I tootle it on 28g, 1.3-1.5, @ -.15w. Even with twisted I stay in the same range & usually on a KFL+. So there's that difference. Haven't tried it in a dripper yet.

Twisted is notorious for capturing the funk. Once it starts it just cascades until your build is toast.

I usually stick with single coil builds that are spaced. If the coil gets crusted on the outside it is usually isolated to just the skinny coil section itself and doesn't propogate to its neighboring wraps.

I also use rayon wicks which does a good job of "self cleaning" if you will. There are two super-threads here about Rayon and if you are curious about a different wick that is dirt cheap drop on by and have a look. Rayon Wick - Better Flow, Flavor, Longevity, and Nic Hit!! - Pt.2

Here is a dripper that I am using. I am using TC ni200 28 ga. After 1.5 weeks of 20% strawberry custard and/or strawberry cheesecake. Maybe 30-45 mL if I were to guess. The wick here is rather dry and that is why it looks a little dark. Once juiced up it recovered its white-ish color. Still vaping on it now.

As for sweetner is usually stick to EM at about 1-2% and haven't noticed any accelerated coil fouling IMO.

Oh and BTW I am not a "huge cloudzzz brah" chaser either. I personally have the Velocity, ST Mini, and KF4 in my rotation and keep it simple. The velocity does make clouds, but it also is really good in the flavor department and is super easy to deal with when I have the time to drip. For work I use the tanks for simplicity and discreetness :)

Jan if your resistance did indeed jump that high I'd suspect a bad connection with either the screws to coil or the 510. No matter how funky your build gets it should not jump resistance.

Well, ideally of course. In my short time of vaping I have not seen this happen, or experienced it myself. I played with twisted coils when I first started, but the crud build up and constant maintenance led me in a different direction. I was a good vape, but not worth the hassle IMO.

I bet that dry hit was nasty!!! Yuck!

I had been using those coils for a few weeks with no issue. I'd rewicked them once. Needless to say I threw them out. I find it oddly coincidental that a connection would work loose upon changing my mix, and they seemed tight when I removed them.

The resistance didn't jump so much a steadily climb, which I understand happens as gunk collects. I get some buildup from my ADV (blackberry and vanilla) but nothing like that picture shows. I'm sticking with my sweetener theory.
