It was a bit of a pain for me because I bought a bunch of them, but I did it any way. I just rinsed them out with hot tap water, someone recommended boiling them, but boiling 100 bottles is a bit to difficult. :2c:

KAS
I agree it is a pain, but i only bought 24 200ml bottles for my nic,so i washed them in soapy water, then boiled to sterilize,i didn't want any chance of contamination haha.

between here and there
I have a sterile setting on my dishwasher. I wonder if that would be good. I might be concerned about residue. Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'll boil them.
Dishwashers water gets really hot. You could always hand wash in soapy water then put in dishwasher to sterilize. That's what I do. Except when I put in dw, i don't add soap so that the whole cycle is basically rinsing off whatever left over soap from handwashing there may be.

Do a load of bottles only and put 2 cups of distilled white vinegar in instead of your regular soap. Shouldn't be any residue. Folks use vinegar to clean windows, right?? :D

Sterilize? I wonder just what could live in nicotine? I think just getting the chunky stuff out would be enough, not that it could hurt to boil them but........
I was concerned with the chemicals and release agents used while making the bottles contaminating the contents.May not have been any there, but simple peace of mind works for me haha.

I got the rest of the bottles boiled and transferred the liter into 100ml Amber euro bottles. I couldn't find a small enough funnel at the store so I bought a couple squeeze bottles to fill the 100ml bottles. I must have not got the top on good or squeezed too hard and lost about 50ml on the counter. I don't like working with 100mg and get a little nervous. When I was finished I cleaned up with paper towels as much as I could and put them in a baggy to throw away. I then scrubbed the counter four times just to make sure it was free of any nic residue. It's all done now. I'll keep working out of my 36mg bottle until it's gone before I think about digging into the 100mg.

I haven't done any long term nic storage before and was wondering if it's necessary to wash the glass bottles I got from specialty bottle before filling them?
I happen to dabble with home brewing. For cleaning the beer bottles before filling I use a product called PBW (Powdered Brewery Wash from Northern Brewers)(this is a great cleaner I use in the kitchen and bathroom too) and then rinse them with a dish-washing/brewery sanitizing solution (you can get this from a home brewers supply or restaurant supply). When brewing, it is critical that you don't leave any residue that can hurt fermentation or allow outside organisms to be introduced and harm the flavor profile.

If I am being particularly OCD (or if I have a bunch to do), I'll go this route and fill a clean small bucket or the kitchen sink with the PBW and hot water and give the bottles a 30-45 minute soak, then give them a quick swish in the solution, drain and rinse. Then I rinse the bucket/sink and fill again with water and sanitizer. Give each bottle a complete dunk, drain (don't rinse with water at this point), and air dry on a clean towel. Your good to go.
If I need a quick down-and-dirty clean; I'll simply half(ish) fill with pure grain alcohol (180 proof), cap the bottle, and give it 30 seconds of vigorous shaking, drain, and air dry. Haven't had any problems yet... <twitch><twitch><twitch>

I bought these to fill my bottles. Worked like a charm.

Something else that just crossed my mind...

When I mix, I have the bottle I'm filling with all the ingredients in a "low sided" baking pan. Keeps spills from getting in contact with the working surface. Not a bad precautionary measure when transferring nic to smaller bottles. Just a suggestion. :)

That's a great idea. I wish I had thought of it before. More than anything I was disappointed to have lost that much nic. Oh well. I went to two stores and couldn't find a funnel to work so I settled on the squeezable craft bottles since the opening was big enough to pour into from the liter. I also went to lowes to get one of the stack on organizers that some people are using for flavors. Now I need to dig them out and organize them. That's going to be a job.

I wonder how or if this FDA thing will affect Bull City Vapor. I really like ordering from them.
Me too but I don't see how it could since they don't sell nicotine any longer or already produced eliquids. They only sell products that are used for other applications.

I think they may still fall under the category of tobacco products simply because of their name having vapor in it.Now,say they change the name to simply Bull city,or say Bull city baking or candy supply then i think they may be ok.

That's what I was thinking was that they would have to change their name.
Yeah,i would say since they don't sell nic, that they would be ok,but since the idiots at the FDA claim juice with 0 nic is still a tobacco product,i think at a minimum, definitely changing the name a bit,and also if they really want to play it safe,i would say maybe only sell flavors and not the vg/pg,syringes etc.,that way if all they sell is flavors then there should be no real way for them to be considered as anything tobacco related at all.
