OK, I'm a noob, so go easy, but my understanding is that TPA is the original company and when they discovered that vapors were using their product, they created/split TFA to accommodate us, meaning they researched what works and what is or isn't safe for vapors, so some TPA flavors are not recommended for vaping and all the TFA are 'assumed' to be safe?

Does this sound right?

That is correct.

i make belgium waffle at .12 (with .06 ethyl maltol) 4/5

I tried it on 10%. But it has a horrible aftertaste when exhaling through the nose. I cannot describe it, other than a smell i know from a metal shop where workers are drilling holes in iron and cooling it with oil. That combined smell of iron and oil is what i taste.

I made a new batch with 5% belgium waffle but it still has that aftertaste, only weaker.

So at this point, the belgium waffle is a no-go for me :(

Edit: Oh, and it's an atty killer. The atty i used at the first batch of 10% contains that smell and i cannot get it out.

Having worked in and around machine shops all my life I know very well the odor you speak of. In fact with just you mentioning it I feel and taste it now by power of suggestion. I am still awaiting arrival of my first shipment from WL which has a bottle of TFA waffle in it that I was looking forward to being one of my first mixes combined with maple syrup. I may just hold off on that one for a bit and try some others first or mix up a very light batch. Maybe 2% waffle and 3% syrup and see what that does.

ok so my next question is. When using those percentages are they mostly by themselves or are they mixed with something else? Other than the strawberries and cream that was added what other mixes goes well at what percentage. I have a recipe for a really awesome peaches and cream that I made up on my own and haven't seen it anywhere that I have tried and gave to a friend since she liked it so well. I also have a PB and J sandwich type recipe but I just don't know exactly where to submit it and not sure I really want to share it so others could not profit from my recipe.

woah woah woah...Blackberry at 6%?!!?!?!
Are you freakin crazy homes? :p

I found it to be overpowering. I think it is best at 2-4%

I must be completely insane then, because I'm vaping it right now at 15%. Could this just be one of those situations where too much flavouring ended up diminishing the flavour?

I think the reason some of us do DIY is because taste varies so much and no one premixed juice fits all.
....For example, I mix TFA M-type tobacco at 0.5% (1 drop per 5ml) and have to steep it for a month before it is nice and tasty. Levitas mixes it at 5% (or more), and vapes it right away.. no steeping. That's why the flavorings in this thread are just suggestions.
....I also test each new flavoring by mixing it alone to see how it tastes. Then, I combine it with other elements because I like complete, full, rich tastes.

Would malted milk work to make a Milkshake type juice?? I am thinking about Virgin Vapor's Kona milkshake etc

Gracias in advance!

This flavor has a definite malt tone, so not so much a milkshake as a malted milk. But I've never tried any Virgin Vapor liquids so I can't speak to that.

Now, I'll preface this with the fact that I'm very new to diy(just got my first wizard labs order) and my techniques aren't perfect as I'm being kind of lazy with my testing right now. I just mixed up a sample of the cola syrup flavor 70/30 pg/vg at 7% and it's pretty good, taste reminds me of those gummi cola candies.

congrats on your first successful experiment.
