According to the joyetech website the device is VV and VW however I don't see anywhere on the site how to increase/decrease the power.
The pics show the steps required to change the voltage. How do you adjust the output power?

" b. You can adjust the output power from 2.0W to 15W and
the output voltage from 3.0V to 5.0V by yourself."

From what I gather:

- Turn the control ring to activate the display
- Press the enter button (which I presume doubles as the activation button when the menu is not active) to access the menu system
- Select the menu option for changing power modes
- Select the power mode (voltage or power)
- Press enter
- Let the device auto-timeout of the menu system.

Now the control ring should adjust power instead of voltage. That's my guess anyway based on the pics on joyetech's website.

Not enough new features to justify the cost...... list is $139.

Pardon? Have you priced out Provaris lately? If thing reviews well, it's going to fly out of warehouses... I'd certainly be interested when my vaping justifies it and budget allows.

MSRP is US $139, but I'm hearing rumours that Joyetech may allow pricing to be as low as $104. Don't quote me on that though, it's just a rumour at this point.

I hope you've heard right... that'd be terrific.

If a vendor wants to send me one I'll be happy to review it, but so far I haven't had such an offer, and I'm not sure I want to shell out for one myself.

Heh! Me too, me too! ;)

Its the FUTURE!! I wish this thing had wifi so it could be located in my various couch cushions and where ever else i lose my stuff :/

The next firmware upgrade will have wifi, voice recognition ("APV!.... atomize!"), and do your taxes for you..... jk :p

Unless it comes with SNAKE i'll pass.

What this industry needs is MORE start-up kits that don't suck.
Modders gonna mod, and smokers gonna smoke!

We need more kits that turn smokers into vapers, not vapers into modders.
The industry is flooded with quality mods, but start-up kits that work as intended are hard to come by.

As of now there are only two start up kits that i would personally recommend to a smoker.
But the mod list for vapers is endless!
Does anyone see anything wrong with that?

The eVic is just playing catchup with bells and whistles to get out attentions.

I'll admit I'm pretty enamoured with the early information on this thing.....

But having said that, you have an excellent point. I have a hard time when talking to prospective converts trying to remember NOT to overwhelm them with recommendations they don't currently want or need. They just need an affordable, easy to operate, reliable and enjoyable device that'll do the job. If they decide down the road to turn it into a hobby as well as a habit, they can discover the rest at their own pace.

exactly!!!

The price will be up to $200 ???
how can you say that. they are allready selling, e-zigarette-evic, that is like 129 bucks canadian.
you can also buy them direct from joytech, most likeley in batches but, that is the price and anything more by resellers is just plain gouging.

Nah, it's gotta have GPS and an app. FindMyeVic. That way if you lose it, or someone steals it, you can track it down and recover it. And optionally kick the thief in the yarbles.

You do have a point with coming out with good simple starter kits. I've had no problem recommending the eGo-C Twist to new vapers, and more recently I've found the eRoll to be surprisingly agreeable. But other than that there's nothing I can really say is solid enough on all levels to make the cut. (I do have a Redds kit en route though so maybe that might be one to impress.) My problem with that is that it really shouldn't be that hard. Joyetech has some great ideas with the eRoll (make it a no-brainer to charge without disassembly in a convenient and stylish PCC; easy atomizer replacement) but they're stuck on the same atomizer design that doesn't quite bring out the full potential in such a device. And I think it's possible to do that with a tank system.

I've borrowed a friends REDDS kit for a couple days, and enjoyed it. It's always been my "cig-a-like" recommendation.
waiting on a kit as well.

i hate recommending anything variable/adjustable to potential vapers. it just adds to the learning curve process.
I sometimes get the "you have to adjust it? why?", and that may push people away.

If you cant just charge, fill and vape.
Than, its not worth it for the average Joe.

My Precise/Kick/DID combination is fine for me, but its not something that i enjoy toting around in a bar...
I get the "OMFG what are you doing?" looks, and when with friends it's really not the time to preach vaping to strangers.
The REDDS will take over for social/public use.

This Joytech product, just doesnt fit in my arsenal.
even Joytech's new "replacement heads" never did it for me... meh

I dunno. I find that, if it's implemented very simply (like the Twist) people are quite receptive to the idea of variable voltage given that it lets them tune the experience to their liking. People are familiar with dials and understand how they work intuitively and the Twist I think was brilliant in going that route specifically because it's the perfect introduction to variable voltage and the ability to match your vape experience to your taste. To me, that's a bigger coup overall because if they don't get as much as they'd like out of it out of the box, they have the option to fine tune it and they're much more likely to like it and stick with it.

I agree with you Mindfield, but I also disagree.

yes, variable is nice, for those of us that want it. but is it actually necessary?

I was perfectly fine with a 510 kit and a hand full of cartos, until someone put an ego with an LR 306 cisco in my hand and introduced me to ECF... It is all relative, a new vaper has no concept of vaping. if you show them options beyond their understanding, they might catch on or they may be put off by it. That is why i only recommend good simple Vape&Go kits that aren't an eye sore to newbies. YES an eGo is an eye sore, we have just gotten adjusted to them.

I have a friend who has been vaping for over a year and a few months. He doesnt care about ECF or variable anything, no matter what mod atty/carto combination i put in his face... He still vapes his eGo with a boge carto.(I gave him that eGo to start off)

You have your approach and i have mine, none are wrong , but neither is perfect.
As long as we spread the love, its all good :toast:

It was guess ... however if you add in additional control module head ----> it is $200
Regardless of the sell price don't you think they should add in a extra battery?
