It's always a good idea to charge larger batteries using a wall wart. Less strain on the 'puter's power supply.
Cheaper to replace a $5 or $10 wall wart then a PSU.

BTW. if you are good with a few tools and have a very old computer laying about with a functional PSU, here is an excellent Saturday afternoon project. ATX to Lab Bench Power Supply Conversion
Cheap and suprisingly effective way to power DC things on your workbench.

PSU's are fine for anything less than 5 volts...

but, for boys with bigger toys this is a better alternative ;)

25A 14v DC Power Supply (350W) $39

Agreed, I do charge stuff from USB sometimes, but I use a 10-port POWERED hub ($12) to do it.... never the laptop port....

This is a good idea. Even though most PSUs (power supply units) in computers have the available amperage, it doesn't necessarily mean the traces (connections) on the motherboard can handle the load. Powered USB hubs can handle the load and provide an inexpensive power source and connection for multiple USB devices on your computer desk.

Back on topic - I'm in the same camp as others that feel that some of the features are not necessary, but it is good that they are being introduced to a test market. You never know what is going to catch on and catch the eye of the current smoker to get them to try vaping, so it's all good.

$30 for 5000mAh isn't bad at all.

i've seen half the capacity go for twice the price.

Same here, that's why I grabbed that one. I take it to work with me to charge my phone (and PV(s) when required) because the USB ports on my computer at work are too far away. Let's me charge and vape my MVP at the same time. :)

Another good source of power is to buy a power bank. I bought one of these and it works very well. It's inexpensive and portable with a 5000mAh battery, and has both 500mA and 1A output USB ports.

I"m leaning towards something that takes one, two or maybe four 18650s. Dx isn't exactly famous for quality though and the only cases I've been able to find are the same 3-4 coming out of China.

Hmm. Nice. I have the batteries to spare. That would be nice having around 10Ah to spend on charging stuff up. Mmmm...

Saw this thread. Searched for sites on information and a possibility to buy this. Instead of the Vamo hitting the news everywhere but not being able to buy it, this thing is readily available in Germany.
Checked my account, hit the 'Buy' button.

It should be here next week. Bought it here for Euro90,54.
Well, lets see how this thing performs...

I'm looking forward to it myself, but I have to wait 'til Vapor Geek gets it, then she's sending me one for review. I'm rather excited. :)

You can download the full manual here:

Joyetech Manual Download

The menu items are <Power Set> and <Output> then adjust two digits and decimal. Default is 05.2 watts.

I didn't see that the first go round. Glad to hear cause I do want one. Properly chastised here. :)

Assuming you're only using one type of juice / atty / carto on a regular basis..

Then again, all I need is my Provari, so I guess in a way you're right. ;-)

I think variable wattage is making one device, one atomizer a reality. Somewhat anyway. This thing also store several different settings and vaping "profiles."
