No wonder they breed potential politicians at ebay. This is a snippet of the text contained in a email a friend of mine got over the weekend:

Due to strict government regulations, eBay doesn't allow the sale of most tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, herbal cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco. E-cigarettes also aren’t allowed on eBay. We realize e-cigarettes don’t contain tobacco. But due to a lack of globally consistent or clearly established regulations for the sale of these items, eBay has made the decision to not allow the sale of e-cigarettes or their components.

So, since its NOT regulated as of yet, they`ll regulate it for us??? And yet the "other stuff" paraphernalia runs rampant on ebay. That and other things you would`nt want to try and explain to your 6 year old. Like that knitted sweater for a pickle.
God Bless ebay, they`ll be the Vaping Heroes for us all and help make our decisions for us, cause we are just too slow to understand or comprehend the nature of our actions.
Also, you can buy ANY flavor of juice (especially the "other stuff" flavor) you want on ebay, as long as it is zero nic. But what are you going to vape it with? You can buy the juice, but you cant buy the vaporizer. HOW is this LOGIC agreeable to anyone?

The most scandalous entity on Ebay, is Ebay itself.

Well it's been PayPal's policy not to allow sales from vendors in the USA, Canada, or Brazil for sometime. However outside of these countries it has never been an issue for me. Interestingly you can still see a lot of ecig paraphernalia like atomizers and mods still listed on Ebay. For how long is anybody’s guess. I wonder if this will effect vendors outside of the countries listed. Oh well there are still other sites like Ebay to buy from...its their loss.

They are selling on ebay? I just looked. You think they would be shutting it all down as the letter says. There is lots listed. Shame on ebay for making this decision.

I love your avatar!

That`s the hypocrisy I`m talking about. ON one hand they say no-no-no, but in the other hand they take the money. Ya, I suspect they are ratcheting up their "anti vape" sweeps right now due to the anti`s party loss`s this last quarter (on all fronts). They don`t have enough computing power to get them all, but they are going after smaller and smaller fish. You would think it would be as easy as banning key words, such as internationally known product names and the like, but they keep taking the money anyways.

buying vaping gear on ebay ?? give me a break !!! the sellers really have no idea what they are doing or selling

i only use ebay for hard to find stuff ,and absolutely nothing vaping related

And only if it's "rare" and "antique" - which covers about 95% of all eBay listings.

Not really ebay, as they will take their commission on any sale. It's pressure from the DoJ. E-cig and related items were listed as risky, partly due to monthly refill services that were difficult to cancel. Some of it is to help buisness not get involved with others that have a high rate of default or chargebacks. Most of it is way to pressure legal businesses the government doesn't like but can't make illegal. Some included areas of target are vapor products, ammunition, on-line gambling, porn, and payday loans. If you don't play ball, the DoJ will storm in and swamp a company with requests and allegations till the company stops doing what is legal but the DoJ doesn't like. They don't go after the million small time vendors, they follow the money up a tier to places like ebay, PayPal, credit card processors, and banks. They apply their strong arm pressure there; where, they get the biggest change in the market with the least amount of work.

I thought e-bay shut down e-cig stuff in 2010?
They try but they can't get everybody. There are just to many vendors selling ecig related stuff. I just got a subtank mini and pack of coils from a vendor I trust on there yesterday.

THIS

This is not a new thing. This has been the policy for years. It has nothing to do with who lost midterms, etc, etc, etc. This same post comes up about three times a month and people get all riled up and start with the conspiracy theories. WE, the vape community, decided we would rather have our items classified as tobacco, than medicine. We won that fight in court, thus allowing you to enjoy products of any kind today. Ebay had a no tobacco policy, thus e-cigs were included in that polcy. End of story.

They do a piss poor job of enforcing it at all levels, but that works out to your benefit.

EBay doesn't just peddle home made quilts down at the market; it's an international listing entity. They're covering their bottom line. It's not that they're trying to slight anyone in particular. They're potentially protecting an entire company. There's an electronic cigarette stigma out there. Look around: the only people on our side is...Fox News...and I mean, that's not helping anyone. EBay is making a smart business move.

This was in my Ebay messages yesterday from a vendor that I've been buying coils from for months.

Dear moaufan,
eBay removed the coils listings due to tobacco policy, but we still have genuine kanger replacement coils and upgraded dual coils in stock. So please DO NOT hesitate to purchase more coils from us. we can complete the transaction through Paypal and under Paypal protection.

They seem to be chipping away slowly.

Personally, I think Ebay is nuts.
I can understand not allowing products that contain nicotine, but banning the sale of components is crazy.
The products are legal with hundreds of websites selling the items.
The ecig market hit the $1 billion dollar size at the end of 2014, mostly done through internet sales.
Ebay is insane to ignore a billion dollar a year market they could dominate.
I wonder how many of their shareholders vape?
